  1. Seems like the Bears may be missing some opportunities to keep the status quo.....They could have Watson as a QB...but seem committed to Trubisky. And now, with Doug Pederson out of a job, they could have him as a head coach. He got a raw deal in Philly. Hell, even McCarthy could ride the wave of a Super Bowl for 9 years. And he is not a good coach. :)
  2. Warren Central used to be burnt orange and gold. The thinking was to pick a combination of two colors not used in the area. I am not certain when they changed to black and old gold though.
  3. Question for the officials......did you happen to notice the Bama o linemen down field often when they threw the ball? Especially on RPO's? One of them was actually kind of comical....looked like #65 ran a drag route with Jones throwing to the slant receiver behind him. 😄 As a line coach, I am not a fan of RPO's........there are several concepts that are counter intuitive to what linemen are taught. Watching the film room, the 4 coaches there were commenting regularly on it. I watched a highlight video and Herbstreit even mentioned it. Do you guys see that on the high school level much?
  4. Thank travel ball and the big schools for where we are now though.
  5. Stepp is a RB from Cathedral....went to USC; had a decent career. He played really well against ND last year. Odd that he is going to Nebraska though. The program just seems to be stuck. When I first saw a picture of him, it looked like a Wisconsin uniform.
  6. Halftime...and still signs of life for Ohio State. Bama’s mistakes have kept it that way. Watching the film room version of this on ESPNews is pretty cool.
  7. I think they will both be back. I think the Colts should sign Rivers. The alternatives are not as good as what they have at this time. Pittsburgh does have some rebuilding to do, but I think Ben plays at least one more year.
  8. New Haven HS is open Please submit a letter of interest to jobs@eacs.k12.in.us no later than January 15, 2021 additional email for Andy Wagner, the AD awagner@eacs.k12.in.us
  9. I was impressed with how the Ravens finished today. They looked like they were playing angry. Jackson just took the game over. Bears defense played well, but man, they were on the field a lot. They had chances. You cannot afford to have clear TD passes dropped. Cleveland could not have written a better script for how to start a game. Steelers just look off. Ben’s throws are just off. That said, they started this way against the Colts, but the score was not 21-0 then. And Cleveland gets a pick and returns it deep into Steeler territory. Going up 4 scores could take Pittsburgh out of their game plan.
  10. Bills get by...barely. It was good to see the Colts compete. Questionable play calls at the end of the first half. Always take the points Coach. The Seahwaks Rams game was brutal. Both defenses LOOKED great, but both o lines were not good. The Rams took a beating physically though, and now it looks like they head to Lambeau Field (Yes I say that in my John Facenda voice....every time) In the nightcap, it just feels like Tampa has been in control, but Washington keeps themselves within striking distance, but appear to have run out of gas. Heinicke has played well, but has taken a beating.
  11. Whop is moving on...best of luck to him. https://twitter.com/ty_fry3/status/1347984240277811201?s=21
  12. That jumped out at me as well....I am not sure why I pick up on it, but each team I root for has a unique phrase, Let’s Go Irish, Let’s Go Hawks, Go Pack Go, etc. I cringe when someone says something off like that. 🤣
  13. I was ok with it, but when it went to four teams, it became clear that there were typically 3 good teams and one that was outmatched. The last couple years, there have just been two teams that are good enough. Adding 4 more teams just means more blowouts....at least for the next several years. The REAL issue is on the NFL side of things. The combine is WAY too soon. It is not necessary. Put the draft in May, with the combine in April. The fact is that the NFL has been invading occupied spaces, creating a chain reaction. College football had sole possession of Thursday nights for several years. It was great to be able to see other conferences, including the MAC get prime time exposure. The NFL stepped in on that action....and for the most part, Thursday night NFL games have been a bust. Then college football felt a need in recent years to play on Friday nights....what a HORRIBLE idea. In my mind, Friday nights are sacred....time for high school football only. Roger Gooddell’s need to have the NFL grabbing headlines every month of the year has hurt the game. As a coach, I often say, less is more. He has over exposed the pro game, and it has had a negative impact.
  14. Another good pick up for the Hoosiers. https://www.si.com/college/indiana/football/ole-miss-grad-transfer-ryder-anderson-commits-to-indiana?fbclid=IwAR1RVZtD57ebq_kp6AHZqbOclKLMI5xE2VqFdp3UXNQ8rduTXC-H9PT92sk
  15. I was thinking of one for cougars and others as well, but thought better. 😄

  17. Great news for the Hoosiers. along with this news: https://twitter.com/2nineee/status/1326938314272890881?s=20
  18. Stories and blog posts have been coming out this week about another covid outbreak on campus in Columbus, OH. I am not into Outkick much at all, but this is an interesting article. Serious questions and concerns are raised. Is there REALLY an outbreak? Or is OSU looking for extra time for Fields to heal? If the game is postponed, it is a bad look on the game, considering the fact that OSU has basically dictated the season and the playoffs......and not on the field. It is that program that pushed hard for the conference to have a season, minimizing the risks of covid, and yet this campus/program has been the one in the conference with the most significant impact. So, they get a consensus in the conference that says yeah, ok; how about we set a standard for minimum number of games to play to be in the conference championship? They reach a majority for that decision as well. We get to the end of the season and OSU has not played the agreed upon number of games. The concern is that not allowing them to play in that title game would keep them out of the CFP. so, the rules are changed again for OSU's benefit. So, they win that game; make their way into the CFP. Granted they played the best game of football I have seen in quite a while against Clemson. So now we are at the title game. The CFP committee did have an alternate plan in case the game had to be delayed. There is still a chance it could be. (Move it to a Saturday evening please; Monday is a bad day for this game). Lord knows OSU has been caught doing some shady things in the past. I too wonder now....I say play the game no matter what. Tell OSU tough sh*t; play the game; you have been given enough breaks. https://www.outkick.com/couch-buckeyes-have-had-enough-rules-bent-for-them-already/?fbclid=IwAR09t7eE1pthm4tcX1rGZyqXQrnhSvESWpgi6pRv5p1cGX0XQ6RRbWO4FRY
  19. Lawrence Central Head Basketball Coach Al Gooden is one win away from 500 career wins. He will be the first black coach in Indiana to reach that point. Such a shame that a turd that was supposed to be our building leader ran him off as our coach, but I was happy he landed at LC. Al is a great coach and even better man. I am honored to call him a friend.
  20. I am not so sure about the second part of this. Ole Miss put 48 points on the board against Bama. Maybe Bama had a bad day, but still.
  21. Fair questions. I don't ever recall hearing anything from his previous teams.
  22. I have long said that osu plays to the level of their competition. In the years that IU has been close; most of them, they were lucky to be close. This year though, I think OSU and Day wanted to prove some point. They were not going to let up. I think that is the difference between Day and Meyer. After a few years of IU keeping it close, Meyer brings a team to Bloomington and just destroys IU. Credit goes to IU for not folding early in the game this year. As far as osu goes, I don't think any of us who hate them expected that type of performance out of that team.
  23. Keep in mind that while Oregon won the PAC 12 Championship game, they were a replacement for Washington who had to back out due to virus issues. So it is not really a fair comparison. With that conference as a whole playing so few games, it is hard to draw any conclusions.
  24. I don’t remember seeing if IU has named a replacement for the DC position. Seeing that Mark Hagen is looking for a job as of today, I think he would be a great fit in that role. He has already been in a co-coordinator role with IU.
