  1. Bedford NL 14 Bloomington North 7 (half) A somewhat surprising score so far.
  2. Bloomington South 14 Martinsville 0 (half) The half ended with South picking off the Arties QB. South will have the ball to start the 3rd.
  3. Bloomington South 14 Martinsville 0 (2:53, 2nd) South scored on a 27 yard pass play. For the 2nd game in a row, South had a long TD play called back for a major penalty earlier in the 2nd. Last week it was a long TD run called back against Col. East and tonight they had a 52-yard screen pass for a TD called back for holding.
  4. Bloomington North 7 Bedford NL 7 (3:29, 1st) BNL scored on a QB keeper.
  5. Bloomington South 7 Martinsville 0 (10:33, 2nd) QB Jarrin Alley scored on a 7-yard keeper for South.
  6. Bloomington North 7 Bedford NL 0 (9:00, 1st)
  7. In addition to the South game, the following Bloomington area teams have also moved their start times back to 8 p.m. BNL @ Bloomington North Edgewood @ Washington Eastern Greene @ North Knox As of Thursday afternoon, the Owen Valley @ South Putnam game still had a 7 p.m. start.
  8. Like with many other games this Friday, the Martinsville @ Bloomington South game has been pushed back to an 8 p.m. start.
  9. If you are starting a 2nd week pick'em then I will jump in there and make predictions. BNL @ Bloomington North - The Stars led the Arties for much of the game but were worn down the Arties running back in the 4th who went over 200 yards for the game. North by 2 TDs. Columbus North @ Columbus East - Both teams lost their season opener, but the Bull Dogs look to be the more complete team at this early point in the season. North by 2 TDs. Martinsville @ Bloomington South - The Arties had a big game on the ground against BNL in their 4th qtr comeback, but South has a very good front seven. South by at least 3 TDS. Perry Meridian @ Southport - Southport appears to be heading for another abysmal season, but I don't know much about PM so I won't try to predict a margin. Terre Haute North @ Indy Crispus Attucks - Both teams lost big last week with Attucks losing to FW Wayne 35-12, while TH North got annihilated by Northview, 48-16. This is a tough one but I will go with THN in a close road win without predicting a margin. Terre Haute South @ Floyd Central - Both teams lost last week with FC losing to a ranked Louisville Saint X team, while THS lost an early lead against Plainfield and lost by 19 points. With THS having to take an extremely long road trip to FC, I will go with the Highlanders by 10 points, and the Highlanders appear to be one of the better teams in the HHC although that conference looks to be headed for another down year with Seymour being the best team.
  10. idk, but colleges are in a far better position to handle the transportations costs of the travel and with most high school sports having events during the school week like with basketball, etc., students could be getting back pretty late with a school day coming up if they have to travel say two hours one way. Although school districts lock into contracts for fuel costs that can go a few years, the cost of fuel is again starting to rise again, so there's that. Anyway, getting back to CI, it's been kicked around on the threads about conference realignments with most of it being speculation, and fans like to discuss possible realignments, so I'm fine with those discussions. However, I'm not going to worry about CI until something actually happens.
  11. Agree. If this conference goes away, the Terre Haute schools would be the ones that would be between a rock and a hard place because of geography. I don't think that Southport, B-North and South, and Col. N. would much of a problem hooking on to another conference, or possibly forming a new conference, again giving the geography. I don't know how realistic it would be to form a new conference since they would have to raid other conferences to add members. That's just my knee-jerk quick thought on it and I really haven't pondered it much until this thread arose.
  12. Your question on which o-lineman went down for South on their first TD drive of the game, it was their starting center Matt Eller. He's a senior and like I said previously he walked off on his own with a slight limp. I went back and reviewed the first half of the game. I didn't see the trainers doing much with him on the sideline and I later saw that he was walking around with a wrap on his left knee, but no ice. Maybe he just tweaked it and it's nothing serious, but you never know with these things. Although South hurt themselves with the major penalties in the first half, I thought East's offense played fairly well in the first half given all of their new pieces.
  13. I thought I would add that the Panthers won the JV game over East, 41-16. The freshman game ended in a 14-14 tie.
  14. The spiideo has provided the link to the live video for both South football and basketball home games for the past two years. When I can't make it to a game which has been fairly often over the last two years, I subscribe to their link of the game which costs $8.00 for each game. They are not a scam and are legit, and I have never had a problem with their videos links. There were a couple of times where technical problems prevented the coverage of the games, and they were prompt in notifying me that they had credited my credit card account because of the tech problem, and I didn't even have to contact them first. There is no game commentary and sometimes you can make out what's being said over the PA. The delay with the radio station coverage and the video link is enough to where I do without the radio coverage. I usually check out the halftime commentary from whichever station is carrying the game and also their wrap-show at the end to get a lot of the stats. I checked the Arties' MHS Rewind site and they didn't have anything on the game next week at South, and I believe they do just the home games there. Regardless, I'm guessing that they won't carry the South game with Spiideo probably having exclusive rights to the video access of the game.
  15. I watched the game online and didn't catch which o-lineman went down which was an apparent knee injury. He walked/limped off the field on his own so maybe he just tweaked it and it's not that serious. We will probably know that on Monday. South really hurt themselves in the first half with major penalties which has been a problem off and on the past few seasons. They had Jarrin Alley long run for a TD called back because of a holding call and that drive fizzled out in East territory. South's secondary needs to improve and they gave up (based on my memory) three deep passes where the receiver was wide open. They also had a couple of PI calls in the game. East was also fairly successful on the short quick passes to the sideline that helped keep some of their drives going. No turnovers for South in the game was a big plus considering it was the first game of the season. East had no turnovers in the first half, but their two turnovers in the 3rd quarter let South expand their lead in that quarter. D'Andre Black's first game back since the injury last season was pretty successful and he caught 6 passes for 75 yards and one TD. There's been no Conference Indiana threads or posts and outside of me, I haven't seen any posts from fans of the other schools about the conference. You used to be pretty active on here and I wondered what happened. You were a big fan of Coach Mo (aren't we all) and when he hung it up for good you seemed to fade away. There are probably a few South lurkers on here that don't post, and I haven't seen any post from North fans.
  16. Bloomington North 34 Mooresville 29 (final) North had a 34-14 lead with a little over 9 minutes left in the game and almost choked it away.
  17. Bloomington North 34 Mooresville 29 (3:01, 4th)
  18. Northview 48 Terre Haute North 16 (final) Edgewood 41 Mitchell 27 (final)
  19. Bloomington North 34 Mooresville 14 (9:41, 4th) The game was tied 14-14 at the half.
  20. Danville 21 Greencastle 14 (final)
  21. Bloomington South 45 Columbus East 10 (final) South had too many major penalties which can't make Coach Johnson happy although it's the first game of the season. South QB Jarrin Alley was 18 of 24 for 213 yards and three passing TDs, and RB Gavin Adams carried the ball 14 times for 101 yards and two TDs. I didn't get much of the stats for East but unofficially they had 219 yards in passing, but I believe they were under 50 yards in rushing.
  22. Bloomington South 45 Columbus East 10 (7:18, 4th) With backups in a QB and RB, South drove the ball down the field with Ben Morrison running it in for the TD.
  23. Bloomington South 38 Columbus East 10 (2:25, 3rd) East committed their 2nd turnover of the 3rd which set up a very short field TD with Gavin Adams running it in from the 9-yard line.
  24. Bloomington South 31 Columbus East 10 (3:27, 3rd) After stopping East on downs, South drove for a TD with the TD set up by a 40-yard run by Gavin Adams. Adams scored on a 4-yard run.
  25. Bloomington South 24 Columbus East 10 (7:35, 3rd) South picked East on their first series of the 2nd half which led to a 19 yard FG. It was the first turnover of the game by either team.
