  1. I was imprecise in my language. You are correct on the locations of the games. "Many" and "Down" were the wrong words. I should have said, "We've seen a few teams from the North punch Central Indiana teams in the mouth." Thank you for calling me out on my heinous crimes and misdemeanors. I will throw a french fry out the window in penalty.
  2. I'm not arguing with you. I bow to your infinite wisdom and knowledge, Mr. Cathedral.
  3. I think Ben Davis is the better team. No disrespect to Center Grove, and it may not end up that way on the scoreboard, but I think BD, on paper, has more in the three phases. Now, Center Grove has plenty of state level experience to make up for all that. You can't beat the run they've been on. They expect to win. I just think that the Giants defense has been playing very good football. They have given up some plays, but they've been solid in the clutch. They've been turning turnovers into points. I also think this is a rare occasion when BD might have the advantage over CG in the kicking game. That's definitely played into things. I have nothing but respect for Center Grove's program and its fans. Our teams have had a lot of battles over the years, and I think this will be another one on Friday night. If the Trojans win, like I said, hat's off to them. They will have beaten one of the best Ben Davis teams in the last 30 years.
  4. many was the wrong word...but Penn a few times. Carroll last year...Snider a few times
  5. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSzG2aGkgcfTsaj3F43ZayN410HvYnV_Dl64LVgOG58aic_eiu8taErApPltau2WiR9V06dPJIV0d2a/pubhtml Approved broadcasters above. There won't be any free TV broadcasts from here on out that are live at least.
  6. This doesn't strike me as a slam dunk. We've seen many times over the years a good north team come down and slug a Central Indiana team in the mouth. I think that happens for a while in this one. Westfield pulls away in the 4th. Final 28-14 Rocks.
  7. Solid picks and rationale. I flip Ben Davis and Center Grove...you know...the huge homer thing (BD 31, CG 28). As long as one doesn't get completely doors blown off by the other, there's no shame in losing to the other team. If Center Grove beats the Giants, I will tip my cap. BD and CG (and Brownsburg) are some of the best teams we've seen around in a while. It just happens they all have/had the unfortunate luck to play in the same year/same class/same geographic area with each other.
  8. There are no free streams...at least live. The IHSAA hires out the Semi-State round and charges $12 or $20 (for all) to pay for it. The IHSAA has exclusive rights to all their tournament games, so there's no broadcast unless it's approved. Approved broadcasters below: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSzG2aGkgcfTsaj3F43ZayN410HvYnV_Dl64LVgOG58aic_eiu8taErApPltau2WiR9V06dPJIV0d2a/pubhtml
  9. I think it was on cassette. We've been recording digitally for the last 15 years or so at WBDG.
  10. BD coach records vs CG: Dullaghan 7-2 Allen 3-0 Kirschner 5-9 Simmons 0-8 Mann 0-0
  11. 4-3 was a game where Center Grove scored all the points. A field goal, a safety for holding in the end zone, and a safety for the punter stepping out of bounds. Here's the broadcast on WBDG. https://audioboom.com/posts/8152957-the-4-3-game-center-grove-ben-davis-football-2006
  12. That's not true. They'd win by a much bigger margin than that. 🤣 🤥
  13. When the Great Temptation speaks it from the basement where he stations himself, it's law.
  14. I could be wrong, but I see this as a coin flip game. I think there's a good chance that this could come down to a last possession-type finish. Still riding with the Giants, though.
  15. I'm from Ben Davis and a "huge homer"...but I don't disagree. Brownsburg, Ben Davis and Center Grove all three are some of the best teams we've seen in Indiana in the 6A class. It's a shame they all are in the same geographic area.
  16. Eric Moore and the Trojans roll into the Westside to face Russ Mann and the Giants. Should be another classic! Giants win it by 3, 31-28. It's a coin flip game.
  17. Great football game. Cathedral is a first-class program. Glad this game will become a yearly thing in the regular season the next few seasons.
  18. Final Ben Davis 27, Cathedral 24 Alvin Contreras picks off a pass in the end zone. Giants able to go to the victory formation to win Regional #21.
  19. Ben Rudolph good on a 40 yard FG to give the Giants a 27-24 lead over Cathedral with 2:38 to play.
  20. Both defenses feasting now. Neither offense can do much. Someone's going to have to make a play as Ben Davis gets the ball back with 4:38 to play at the Cathedral 47
  21. Danny O'Neil is tough as nails. Guy's been banged up all night. He's still makin' plays. Coach Prime can pick 'em. Still tied. Giants defense has held. Giants ball back at their own 30. Tied at 24.
  22. Giants go for an inexplicable fake punt and give the Irish the ball at the Cathedral 49 in a tie game with 9:12 to play.
