  1. yes The IHSAA has put limited contact periods into action this school year. There are two such periods that football coaches are allowed to work with their players on specific football fundamentals. The first window for football starts today and run through February 2nd. REMEMBER THIS IS A BY-LAW, NOT A SUGGESTION! Limited Contact Rules: You can practice for up to 2 hours 2 days a week with footballs and other practice equipment involved. You CANNOT split this time and bring linemen in for two hours two times a week and skill players in on two different days. The time and day allotment is for your entire program. Football and practice equipment may be used. No protective equipment may be used. The specific wording for the By-Law is below. Limited Contact Program: During the School Year Out-of-Season, a program of School sponsored athletic activities in which a student, who participates in Team Sports, may have contact with a coach, provided it occurs in a School’s gymnasium, playing field or other School facility, open for athletic participation, on a voluntary basis, to (i) all students who attend the School, and (ii) all students who attend a Feeder School of the School sponsoring the program. 15-2.5 Limited Contact Program During the School Year Out-of-Season a student who participates in Team Sports may participate in a Limited Contact Program; a Limited Contact Program is a program in which the use of the School’s gymnasium, playing field or other school facilities is open only to students who attends the School, or a Feeder School of the School sponsoring the program, is open to all such students and participation is on a voluntary basis. Rule 15 - Participation 56 a. Limited Contact Program sessions for Team Sports may be conducted a maximum of Two (2) times per week for a maximum of Two (2) hours per session. b. At a Limited Contact Program session, a School Team Sports coach may supervise the programs, communicate with students, offer instruction and work directly with all out-ofseason athletes, may use all equipment related to the sports, i.e. balls, goals, nets, etc., provided that: (1.) the program must be open to all students of the member School; (2.) attendance and participation must be voluntary and not required by the member School coach for membership on a particular sports team, and (3.) participation in a Limited Contact Program session by a student in Team Sports is limited to the following periods of time; Limited Contact Program Start Date End Date Fall Season Monday of Week 9 Saturday of Week 15 Winter Season Monday of Week 23 Saturday of Week 31 Spring Season Monday of Week 40 Saturday of Week 45 c. Exception: Students in Team Sports who participate in a Limited Contact Program which immediately precedes that Team Sports’ season may continue to participate in the Limited Contact Program until that Team Sports’ first official practice date, i.e. a girls basketball player participating in the Fall Season Limited Contact Program may continue participation in the Limited Contact Program until the first official practice day for girls basketball.
  2. If you can play, you can play, you do not have to go to OSU/MICHIGAN/USC/TEXAS/BAMA/CLEMSON/FSU/FLORIDA to get drafted.
  3. ASVAB will be part of the new pathways in Indiana Volunteer hours count towards a pathway, is that not attainable ?

  10. Correct on all accounts Colts Academic All State is done earlier as those who make that cut (WOW, to make team is truly special, hard to get on it) can be honored on one of their last home games
  11. probably no different then Joe Tiller speaking for 90 minutes at Nike Clinic I attended Topic: THE HUDDLE Did you listen to him last year at IFCA State clinic talk about his Trick Plays and why and how?
  12. yeat that one got me confused too He is incredibly POWERFUL
  13. Word on the street up here in DA REGION is that Noll is playing Varsity schedule this upcoming year. I would suspect that means they play in tournament (notice how I didn't say Playoff 😎)
  14. We are not even touching any of that nonsense: Dumb Dumb Dumb in my opinion. We get everything we need to accomplish in the summer 12 practice session and 5 competition days.
  15. Army Congrats, throwback D1 Fullback He'd be a sought after recuit if this was 1989
  16. Coach White resigned in December and NJSP promoted Alum, and recent staff member Brett Lambert to HC. Coach Lambert played at Judson, then did some coaching stints under Brad Urban at West Central, Greg Willis at NN, Chris Meeks at RCHS, then back to NJSP under Kirk Kennedy, took a few years off (growing family) and got back in last year. Has been Head Track coach their last 5 years or so as well. Young guy who should be in it for the long haul I would assume.
  17. Coach Prescott has utilized option scheme in years past and most recently some concepts in the Shotgun, Single Wing. Wishing the best to Coach Prescott, one of the good guys in the business.
  18. Last 3 years or so there have been 50-60 openings I believe on average, I want to say its been a good 5 years since 40, but I don't have any of those data points backed up. I started the tracking job board stuff around 2013 on here. There have been some coaches who have left teaching and coaching all together, make your own conclusions there Some have taken jobs in administration, such as Jeff Bean left HC of NN (where he was Dean as well as an FYI) and took AD job at Lake Station. Those reasons you listed I am sure could have played a factor for any coach who may have left after a few years, sure its plausible, but I think you can say the same for any other jobs out there that folks leave after a few years. There isn't a one size fits all reason.
  19. Noll indicated when announcing the cancellation of Varsity season they wanted to take 2 years build from JV up with numbers and be ready to play varsity schedule after that, no idea if they are still sticking with that timeline
  20. I think you are correct, Vandy, then TCU
  21. up in the air from what I know thus far @CoachSnyder this is a response from a parent of a Gavit student on RSN when discussing Coach Robison being let go: http://www.poweredbyrsn.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14085 The Hammond School Board has about 7-8 options on the table as far as consolidating elementary, middle, and high schools in Hammond. There is no word as to when a final decision will be made. The Gavit parents feel lied too tho since they were told that if the referendum was passed that Gavit would remain both a middle school and high school and that is no longer the case. Pretty sure Coach Robinson will be the JV baseball coach at Gavit this spring but I'm sure he will land on his feet coaching football in some capacity somewhere in the Fall. He did a good job at both Hammond and Gavit High Schools. I have no clue who the school is looking at as far as a replacement.
