  1. Oak Park-River Forest High School in the Chicago suburbs were will also begin this year online.
  2. I hope they do. On another note, schools in Los Angeles and San Diego will begin the year online.
  3. Very unfortunate. These decisions were not arrived at on a whim. It’s hard to do the right thing, or whatever we think right thing is.
  4. Women as ADs? Is there still a will to win? Are there management skills not good? You can say soft (or color coordinated, etc.) as long as you want, but if they get the job done, why the hell not?
  5. One thing with these messsge boards, debate is always constant. Everybody thinks their thinking is the best, everyone else is stupid, and then the personal attacks begin. It’s almost like we’re back in 3rd grade.
  6. Yanni Karlaftis to announce his decision on Tuesday—Purdue, California, Stanford, and Wisconsin are in the mix. I like Purdue’s chances.
  7. Looks like someone's feeling a little superior...
  8. Covid is a disease with many faces. I just pray the medical researchers get their act together and find a vaccine.
  9. Excellent point.
  10. I've been playing football all my life: from the Fire yard on First Street in Kentland, to St. Joseph's School, to high school, to college (hold your horses--intramural), to back yard barbecues. Participants have ranged from as few as 4 to as many as 20 per side--always a great time.
  11. Arena football: the 50-yard indoor war.
  12. Baseball is the court jester. My brother-in-law was a standout for the Vikings back in the day.
  13. I hope you're wrong, too. College football, besides being great entertainment, is a real economic engine. Just like college basketball, which could also be on the chopping block...
  14. Thanks. I wonder why steps haven’t been taken yet. Although some these distances are pretty far like LA-Seattle and Dallas-Seattle, it beats the National Travel like New York-San Francisco, etc. But as I look at my roster, I now realize I left out Carolina and Tampa Bay. Put them in Cosell and the two Texas teams of Dallas and Houston in the Walsh.
  15. The place is awesome! Heading to Wisconsin in a few weeks--can't hardly wait!
  16. I hear the B1G season will be 10 games instead of 9. If all conferences go league only, I guess ND will just play ACC schools... We'd have missed you at Kroll's
  17. Well, the Domers can forget about their trip to Lambeau to face Wisconsin this year.
  18. The NFL my take a page out of MLB's playbook: Rozelle League--Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Giants, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington First Nations Cosell League--Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans Frozen Tundra League--Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, GREEN BAY PACKERS, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings Walsh League--Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks
  19. Nebraska--Win Rutgers--Win Illinois--Win Indiana--GUARANTEED WIN Northwestern--Win Wisconsin--at Ross-Ade this season, their star RB is gone... Iowa--also in WL, Hawks and Ferentz are in a world of hurt Minnesota--never been sold on the Fleckster Michigan--it's in Ann Arbor and Purdue does not play well there A 6-3 record is definitely possible.
  20. Indeed. Then again, Purdue OOC slate was pretty fierce--Air Force, Memphis (both wet bowling last year) and Boston College--not a FCS cupcake that are mainstays of one of our rival's schedule.
  21. Now it hits home. Per espn.com, there will no non-conference matchups this season.
  22. No apologies are necessary as I'm not sure they do either.
  23. Spot on. It's not like it's the end of days (hopefully), but things aren't right.
  24. Past ridiculous. I'm glad to know you have a handle on the culture of it for some people, and I'm not naming names, do not.
