  1. Sad, but true.
  2. Yep, and across the border, Oak Park-River Forest also put the kabosh on.
  3. East Chicago and School City of Hammond (Hammond High, Clark, Gavit, and Morton) suspend athletic events due to COVID-19.
  4. Agreed---the logistics are not ideal. Then again, I didn't say it would be this (even italicized it!) year...
  5. Good to know! Thanks for the update.
  6. Although it clearly won't be happening this year, I think cross-sectional match-ups across the entire state could be a great idea. You could put Conference Indiana against the Midstate, Hoosier Hills against the SIAC, or even the ultimate test in the Central Indiana pecking order: the MIC facing off against those pesky upstarts from the HCC. I'd also like to see smaller conference represented: Hoosier, Hoosier North, NLC, Pocket, and WRC among others. I know I didn't name many from the southern part of our great state: suggestions, please
  7. Nothing wrong with that. It's always great to see a Goliath slain by a David.
  8. I do remember that game. Although it was unfortunate SN lost, the fight they showed was great.
  9. Coming from a small school, I loved playing the big schools. Sure, in football we would have gotten smashed, but back in jamboree days, my Rebels would go up against Kankakee Valley and Rensselaer.
  10. As would my good friends at Linton.
  11. South Vermillion dwarfs all other members in the WRC, but I think that conference is pretty strong.
  12. Oak Park-River Forest High School in the Chicago suburbs were will also begin this year online.
  13. I hope they do. On another note, schools in Los Angeles and San Diego will begin the year online.
  14. Very unfortunate. These decisions were not arrived at on a whim. It’s hard to do the right thing, or whatever we think right thing is.
  15. Women as ADs? Is there still a will to win? Are there management skills not good? You can say soft (or color coordinated, etc.) as long as you want, but if they get the job done, why the hell not?
  16. One thing with these messsge boards, debate is always constant. Everybody thinks their thinking is the best, everyone else is stupid, and then the personal attacks begin. It’s almost like we’re back in 3rd grade.
  17. Yanni Karlaftis to announce his decision on Tuesday—Purdue, California, Stanford, and Wisconsin are in the mix. I like Purdue’s chances.
  18. Looks like someone's feeling a little superior...
  19. Covid is a disease with many faces. I just pray the medical researchers get their act together and find a vaccine.
  20. Excellent point.
  21. I've been playing football all my life: from the Fire yard on First Street in Kentland, to St. Joseph's School, to high school, to college (hold your horses--intramural), to back yard barbecues. Participants have ranged from as few as 4 to as many as 20 per side--always a great time.
  22. Arena football: the 50-yard indoor war.
  23. Baseball is the court jester. My brother-in-law was a standout for the Vikings back in the day.
