  1. Castle Jasper Central North Mater Dei
  2. First three are easy. Castle over Bosse North over Harrison Central over Memorial Lincoln over Mater Dei and in the game of the night: Reitz over Jasper
  3. Wish I could have been there, but I didn’t find out that they were doing different attendance rules than Evansville until last night. Folks, Lincoln is open to 50% (not 500 total), but you have to purchase your tickets in advance. Might be a little more work to drive up there, but general public tickets are sold on Thursday evening from 5-7. They have a video on their Facebook page that explains it all.
  4. Central over Bosse Jasper over Harrison Castle over Mater Dei Reitz over Lincoln North over Memorial. The game at North will be the game of the night. Reitz @ Lincoln will be a good game. The other games will (or should) be rollovers.
  5. Watched the Reitz/Harrison game last night, and have to say, it was a weird one. Harrison did well on special teams (two huge punt returns), but overall, take that away, they only had one really big drive against the starters (their first possession) that led to a score. Not sure what to make of them. Will they be that team that averages 28 a game, but goes winless because they can’t stop anyone? Who knows. Reitz on the other hand, looked pretty good on offense. Defense was a little shaky at times as they implemented a new defensive scheme this year, and special teams was atrocious. Maybe put in some work on that this week. But overall, I was happy with the progress I saw last night.
  6. Lincoln over Bosse (lay the points) Memorial over Jasper (take the points) Reitz over Harrison (lay the points) Castle over North (take the points) Mater Dei over Central (take the points of course)
  7. I’m a little biased here. Is a great venue at the bowl.
  8. ^^^^^^ please remove this post. Only rumor and conjecture at this moment with no official announcement. Thanks.
  9. I can say that the Reitz football Facebook page (not reitzfootball.com, Rudy’s page) was taken down after Friday night.
  10. Here is my take. The coaches don’t have a clue as to what they have at QB. He is not a scrambler (although he is mobile enough to get away from pressure), but is a step into pocket passer. Watch him. When he actually steps into his passes, they are on point. However, most of the time he is throwing on the run and off of his back foot. When he does that his passes sail resulting in the bad turnovers and badly overthrown receivers. (Also, he really needs to quit locking in on one receiver. I know where he is throwing it from across the field, so any defender paying attention would know the same.) I believe that the offense needs to be constructed more along the lines of what the Colts did when Manning was QB. One back pro sets doing stretch runs and play actions bootlegs, but basically keeping him standing tall in the pocket and throwing the ball down the field.
  11. Memorial MD Reitz Bosse Call me crazy, just have a feeling.
  12. I have a feeling that something bad happened to him. He hasn’t posted on twitter since December 2017 either.
  13. Wow. When did Reitz and Harrison get more kids than Castle? I mean Reitz is at almost 1400, and Harrison is at almost 1300. Wouldn’t that make them almost 6A too? Fact checking. Only takes a minute, saves a lot of embarrassment. Castle has over 1900 (almost 2000) students for those who would want to know.
  14. Harrell’s site has Reitz playing at home against Clarksville Northwest (Tenn) on August 30. Can anyone confirm?
  15. First, I was merely correcting an incorrect statement through use of facts. I have not said a word about any previous or present coach at RHS. Now, if you wish to ask my opinion on the matter, I have not been thrilled with either of the past two hires that the EVSC has made for coach at RHS. But that is me, and I continue to go out every weekend to back the boys in blue, just like I did before I was in school, and during my days in school there. At at the end of the day, most Reitz fans are spoiled. And if you are wanting to coach there, you do have to have thick skin. But don’t try to pretend that our fan base is the only one with whackadoo fans. It’s like that everywhere. And don’t classify all fans in that category. They are the vocal minority. Thanks. And what exactly is a ‘screagle’?
  16. One trip to LOS. Lost in sectionals in 2008 and 2011, lost in regionals in 2012, lost in semi state in 2010, won it all in 2009. That’s only one trip.
  17. Valpo was 6A because of enrollment, not due to TSF. So, with Snider remaining up due to points accrued, Valpo would be the first team to drop to 5A because they are the smallest 6A school by enrollment, but not the smallest in 6A. (Columbus East moves up due to TSF, and now Snider remains up due to TSF.)
  18. Finally, something we can agree on. Boonville’s AD just made them look like a joke. As he said, they had their best season in 15-20 years, and presumably the kids are excited to be out there and build off of it, and all of a sudden, your AD says that you can’t compete with the BOTTOM of the conference they are considering joining? What is he telling those kids, and future generations? Have to say, if I am a parent in Boonville, I might be looking for other options. I mean, what happens if they can’t win in the big school division of the PAC? Petition to join the small school division? i understand where he is coming from on the whole students not playing because they can’t win. But how many students now won’t play because the staff doesn’t believe in them? Oh, and for the record, all time, Boonville is 41-133 against teams currently in the SIAC. And 33-87 against the two newest members coming in.
  19. I would believe it does, but you never really know, do you?
  20. Well, since this hasn’t been asked, what would your proposed divisions been if Boonville and GS had been added as well?
  21. Not sure on other sports, but I know that the middle school programs play in the same league and it is an intense game whether it is Castle North or South playing Jasper.
  22. Lincoln. Jasper’s biggest rival. In a conference that is falling apart in front of everyone’s eyes. Uncertain future if they stay, but willing to step up and play “the big boys” unlike another that has been discussed here. Makes sense. Gibson Southern. No affiliation with Jasper in football. Conference is stable and strong. Showed no inclination of wanting to move until the last hour. I personally could care less which school the SIAC took with Jasper. I like both schools that were mentioned here. So to me, I’ll go to Lincoln and Jasper when Reitz has games there, and you know what? I won’t gripe about them being brought into the conference. I am ok with driving an hour to see a game. Heck, been doing it for a very long time, and won’t be stopping anytime soon.
  23. It isn’t only football. They are 1-30 against the current SIAC schools in boys basketball since 2012-2013.
  24. No one has denied that there was going to be four. But Boonville decided what they felt was best for them was to pass on joining the SIAC. And while that was bad for Gibson Southern, Boonville believes it was good for them.
