Well duh ....and until the IHSAA takes a more hardline stance (which they won't), it will continue to happen. In this regard, I actually side with the p/p's. At least they are open and honest -They HAVE to recruit, or their school won't exist. Public's who call and poach top athletes from other schools, that is just public on public crime. I'm still from the old school of "Play with who ya got and who grew up in your school system" ....some don't feel/think that way. 

SO...the way I'm reading this - in Batesville's "glory years" of 5 straight sectional championships (where in heck was L-Burg in those days??) - they couldn't get past the mighty Patriots?? (who were a freaking machine back in those days) 

That was a long time ago I get it - but 0-5 is 0-5. 

Don't see that changing this week - this Patriot D is TOUGH and they'll do just enough on Offense to pull it out. Give me Pats by 10

Batesville had one of the better game plans that I've seen against EC this year. Very physical team with a quick dline. It's one of those make sure your chin strap is buckled extra tight type of games. 

Heritage Hills will have no problem with that type of game - trust me. 

Word on the street is TC is batting some key injuries at some key spots?? Not a good recipe for playing this Vikings squad. 

Just want to give a public congrats to our 3 sectional champs from the PAC and best of luck to all in a deep postseason run. 

While tasting defeat is something I’ll never be good at- we (SR) can at least take solace into the fact the 3 teams we lost to this year are all still playing. 

Go represent the conference and win Regionals so hopefully we can have some local semi-state games!

Didn’t Jasper run the table in their first year in the SIAC only to get knocked off in Sectionals?? 

Maybe it’s the curse of undefeated SIAC champs??

I've seen a lot of Paoli picks on here , and understandably - they did win your conference. BUT, and it's probably just my PAC bias here - but I've been on this NP team since we played them in week 8. They are legit. Big, strong, fast. I would be shocked if they dropped this one to Paoli. (Paoli lost to Boonville.....we (SR) handled Boonville...and NP got us this year by a TD) - best of luck to both teams tonight. 

Excuse my ignorance - and appreciate the informative post Titan32 - but can someone break it down simply for my technological ignorant brain ? What do I need to do in order to be able to watch the State Finals on my TV? (I understand I can watch it from my computer browser via IHSAATV.org) 

If I have a smart-TV, is it as simple as accessing the web browser thru my TV and just doing it that way??

Just not right for this to have not been the championship game. A successful group of kids worked their tails off and were robbed of one more week of HS football. Instead a team that started the tournament 3-6, who they beat 42-0, has the privilege of playing one more game only because of a lucky draw. 

Meanwhile North Posey (10-1) faces off against Paoli (10-1) in what looks to be a slugfest to advance to regional. A true championship game. One could argue Triton takes an advantage in regional because they get to tune up a little in their final.

Something has to be done. Seeding just makes the most sense.

 

Meanwhile in 32, Scottsburg is playing for a Sectional Championship against HH ....oh those dang ping pong balls.

Ya - I'll have to eat that one. I was definitely surprised by that result - although now looking back, I should have known better. 

Not that it is worth anything - I don't have anything else left to do but take interest in local games - but I don't see this one being particularly close. Unless the QB from VL puts on his superman cape, I think GS rolls in this one by at least 2 scores. 

I imagine any hope that VL would have in this game is hinged on the health of QB1. I know he has played the last couple weeks, but is he fully healthy and moving about like normal?

Tell City runs the Flexbone - and run it pretty well.

Kinda stinks for North Posey in that regard - biggest win in program history, and it's a little tarnished by too many men on the last play. 

I gotta ask though...didn't MD have North Posey in a 4th and long situation with like a minute to go and gave up a TD??? What the heck happened?

I get it. Seasons on the line - high school careers coming to an end, etc...emotions are at an all-time high come playoff time. (Believe you me, we had some "iffy" ones last night as well)

BUT, just remember - we couldn't play this great game without them (officials) and ask yourself "have I ever made a mistake in my career?"

23-20 Patriots....now on to Scottsburg for the final.

Just my 2 cents and then back to my hole I'll climb - (we've got our own issues tonight with the Pats) - but I would be SHOCKED if NP doesn't beat the Wildcats tonight. They are not your typical NP...they are legit good. 

Comparing scores can be dangerous, but just as a reminder- NP running clocked TC by the 3rd quarter.

I'm not sure there is a clear favorite in either one except maybe East Central in 23. NH has the size and style to go head to head with Heritage Hills in 32 and Charlestown has yet to play to their full potential I believe. 39 looks to be shaping up as a rematch between Btown and Triton Central. Valley will likely have their hands full with Providence being the hot team in 48. Paoli has a good chance of moving out of 40. Would be great to representation from both conferences in regional this year and it looks as if that could be a possibility.

I know this is a forum of “I told you so’s” - so here ya go. This whole MD has played the gauntlet of SIAC schools so they’ll be ready for a run to State might be a bit premature. NP had a running clock vs TC in the 3rd quarter.

We did play Central I believe for 2 years(?) in what turned out to be 2 of their strongest teams in school history. Go figure lol

Brownstown finishes the JV season 7-0. 

We outscored teams 287-31 this year and the starting defense only gave up 1 score all year. Great group of kids to work with and a selfless bunch. 

Curious - does Brownstown employ a freshman team as well or do your freshman play with the JV?
