  1. Since closing the conference, the SIAC has had 6-8 teams ranked in the top 100 for the final rankings after the state finals each year. The current rankings are consistent with how the conference has traditionally finished in the final rankings, with the one exception being the rank of the top conference team, which will be heavily influenced on how deep in the tournament the SIAC teams go.
  2. I imagine there would also be a bunch of same name towns and cities.
  3. Regarding class structure for an expanded state tournament, how many schools would Indiana be willing to absorb and maintain the all-in format? If 200 Illinois schools joined our tournament (almost all 4a and smaller), would we simply add more classes to absorb them or would a qualification system be implemented?
  4. https://www.agriculture.com/indiana-considers-boundary-shift-and-agricultural-impact-as-illinois-counties-push-for-secession-8789473 For simplicity sake let's refrain from the political aspect of this situation and keep the conversation related to football. There is a fanciful idea that a bulk of southern Illinois may secede from Chicago/Illinois. In the event that were to happen they potentially would be annexed by Indiana. How would that impact the Indiana high school state tournament? What programs in the southern part of the state would be tournament powers in Indiana? What classes would they fall under? How would an expanded pool of schools change the class structure in Indiana? What schools would you be excited to see in the Indiana tournament?
  5. Yes. I'm one of the few Colt fans that feels like burning down the house is not necessary. (Although it wouldn't bother me if they did.) The Colts played .500 football the last two years without stability at the single most important position in sports. Give them average qb performance in each of their losses and they make the playoffs. Give them a top 5 qb and they are a top 5 team in the NFL. Whose responsible for the lack of QB stability? I don't really care. The question is how do you fix the problem. AR could be a Josh Allen/Lamar Jackson in this league but is clearly not there yet. Can he get there? Is Steichen the guy to develop him? (Every qb not named Drake Maye is older then AR.) Personally, I like Steichen and want him to stay but I'm guessing AR will probably be more Jamarcus Russell then Lamar Jackson. The Colts won't be relevant without fixing the QB position.
  6. We can't let this thread die. How would 2025 Luers match up against 2025 HH?
  7. Anyone know what DirectTV channel this game is on?
  8. Since these comments, the Sagarin ratings have flipped about 12 points. Most of that was the HH rating collapsing. Mem is now a favorite on Sagarin.
  9. Thanks. I wonder how he picks them since he provides all the Sagarin info and Mem is the favorite on Sagarin.
  10. Can you provide a link to the JH lines?
  11. How much does this cost?
  12. Brebeuf is 3-1 when giving up 57 points or more.
  13. I was just pointing out that the SIAC sagarin ratings have in the past changed drastically after the playoffs, something you insinuated wouldn't happen by implying Sagarin can't be off ten points. The "10 pt" advantage changed 7 points on friday. HH is now just a 3 pt favorite. It is reasonable that Memorial will be rated higher after this week, playing Reitz vs HH playing Washington.
  14. I compare the Sagarin week 9 rating vs the week 15 rating. I have the week 9 through 15 ratings saved on my computer from years past. I'm not sure how to find them online. For instance, MD's after state rating was 10 pts higher then what there rating was after week 9.
  15. I have followed Sagarin with interest regarding how it chooses to rate the closed conference. In the four previous seasons the SIAC highest rated team was undervalued after week 9 vs week 15 by 13 points twice (2020,2021) even once (2022) and overvalued by 12 once (2023). In short, Sagarin has no idea how to rate a closed conference. The PAC highest rated team has been undervalued twice by 3 pts (2021, 2023) and overvalued twice by 3 pts (2020, 2022). MD's state championship (2022) was undervalued 10 pts after week 9. Sagarin being off by 10 pts in a closed conference this time of year is to be expected.
  16. Has that always been the rule?
  17. Can interceptions be returned out of the endzone?
  18. The radio silence after the CAL game left me assuming the first and second rule of fight club applied to that game. I guess the kentucky trash talkers were right.
  19. That isn't exactly a high bar.
  20. Can Reitz go back to back to back undefeated regular season champs or at least 3 peat in the SIAC Title? Yes Can Castle finally end their SIAC Title drought this season? Yes Castle-North rematch next week, who will win that game? Castle Will the Tigers claim a share of the SIAC crown this season? No Who else in the conference do you see in capturing the SIAC Crown or at least sharing it? Castle Can Mater Dei have a rebound year after going 3-7 last season? Yes With Memorial out of Sectional 24, can either Jasper or Reitz takes the reins of the sectional? Yes Sectional Champs winners? Castle, Reitz, Memorial Who will have the deepest playoff run this season? Memorial What regular season game will be the best one this season? Cake Eater Bowl Do we see Bosse continuing to see improvement this season? No Can V. Lincoln sustain their trajectory after a nice campaign last year? No Will we see any improvements with Central or Harrison this season? No
  21. The new visitors lockers (girls locker) are part of the new building on the home side. My biggest gripe is I wish the visitors side had more seating. This is an older update. https://www.witzamfm.com/highlights/an-exclusive-inside-view-of-the-new-look-jerry-brewer-alumni-stadium
  22. My guess is the total football attendance is about the same. I would disagree. The old big 8 schools typically didn't travel well to Jasper (VL included) unless their teams were good, which for that last 20 years was few and far between for most of them. If I had to choose the current schedule or the old schedule, I choose the current schedule.
  23. I'm confused why HH says they are interested in playing SIAC schools (excluding Jasper and VL) when they rarely played them before the current alignment structure. They played MD the first two years after Clayton left, then had them (MD) replaced with Mt.Vernon. They literally drove past every SIAC team to get to Mt Vernon. MD and Memorial routinely had to travel to KY, Indy, MO, and even had to play each other in non-conference to fill the schedule. The primary reason the SIAC expanded was to solve the headache of football scheduling, in part because they couldn't schedule local teams. Additionally, the SIAC tried having twelve schools (an open conference), but couldn't find any takers to tag along with GS. Now HH wishes they could play SIAC schools?
  24. MD was also 3a for the 95 and 96 postseason. Jasper played them in 95.
  25. I initially didn't know you were referring to NP.
