Follow the Science? How COVID Authoritarians Get It Wrong
Alduflux replied to Muda69's topic in OOB v2.0's OOB Forum
I generally support them except 1 which is unreasonable and arbitrary and 3 which is just unreasonable. The guidestone link was your response to my asking "why so many dead people?" Am I to assume you believe nefarious guidestone followers are behind covid? -
My experience is the following links in order. The third one is lushweb and asks for credit info. Is this legit or is the central fb page linking to a scam? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Evansville Central High School/108518592506724/ http://cbs.livedirect.tv/hs.php?fbclid=IwAR1inoNG7Bx_stNqMTeVYfcNDfYrPDVhb4YUs1fN_6C3kb52Xuz3DWfsTQA#.X25hFO0pCUk https://signup.lushweb.net/en/html/sf/cc/eone_m3dsc.html#&sf=eone&lng=en&m=sports&ref=5171088&prod=604&sub_id=&_sign=e6a5b62b88d83b5e33dab2e379f1483a&_signt=1601069410&utm_expid=

Can anyone confirm that to watch this you have to give a credit card on this site below? Looks shady to me. https://signup.lushweb.net/en/html/sf/cc/eone_m3dsc.html#&sf=eone&lng=en&m=sports&ref=5171088&prod=604&sub_id=&_sign=a49239e9c3973365303390dbd97e35c1&_signt=1601067985&utm_expid=

I'm curious to your thoughts on quarantining and contact tracing in school. -

I'm curious to hear if you are opposed to the Guidestone principles or supportive of them? -

The point I was making was in response to your asking "...what has changed.?", the answer is obvious. There are significantly more dead people this year then previous years. Currently we sit at 208,000-274,000 excess deaths on the year and that is just six months of Covid related deaths. By comparison 30-40,000 people die each year by firearms so I guess using your metric there are lots of extra firearm fatalities this year. -

Can you explain why there are significantly more dead people each and every week this year relative to previous years? Not just Covid but all deaths. (Hint: It's not pneumonia) Ignore the NY nursing home deaths (basically every death in April.) Why are more people dying all summer and in places not called New York state? 24 of the 31 weeks that have had excess mortality since April 2017 have been this year. Scroll down halfway to the graph and explain what has happened this year. Also, the dip at the end of the graph probably will look different a month from now because not all deaths from the last several weeks have been counted yet. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm -
How many players does GS have playing both ways?

Is the Jasper/Central game being streamed online anywhere? Regarding the game, two things will dictate Jasper's ability to compete. 1. Protect the ball. 2. Manage/control the speed of Central. Jasper teams in the past have not handled speed well.

I would endorse the Yang system for Justice term limits. 18 year term, new justice every two years. https://www.yang2020.com/policies/scotustermlimits/

The point I made is the constitution does not restrict changing the number. The number 9 can be unfixed the same way it was fixed at 9. The constitution is not a barrier to that happening. ...and for the record I do not endorse changing the number for political reasons...or choosing justices either.
-
The constitution does not restrict the number of Supreme Court Justices. Congress and the President set the number. A Biden presidency and Democratic Congress can up the number to any number they want. I'm not sure why they would stop at 13 and not just add a couple hundred for good measure. "The answer is that under the Constitution, the number of Supreme Court Justices is not fixed, and Congress can change it by passing an act that is then signed by the President. Article III, Section 1, starts with a broad direction to Congress to establish the court system: “The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.”" https://constitutioncenter.org/blog/packing-the-supreme-court-explained

Does anyone know Lindauer's current role at Cincinnatti? He has an odd collection of statistics from today's game. Can anyone give context to his numbers? 2 carries for 15 yards but his long was 4 yards? 2 fumbles, one lost. zero pass attempts. https://www.espn.com/college-football/boxscore?gameId=401212541

To be clear, my understanding of Wilkerson's comments were he was the one that coined the term "the jungle". You are refuting his version of its naming, correct?
-
Last night during the GS/SR broadcast on the live stream I thought I heard Lance Wilkerson take credit for naming Patriot Field "The Jungle". Can anyone confirm that story? I thought it was named after a poem Clayton liked.

I have no knowledge of how the schedule was determined. I'm guessing things they tried to stick to were rivalry week for week 9, (no change for the old SIAC) and it probably isn't a coincidence that all week 8 and 9 games are between teams in different classes. I'm guessing none of the coaches want a potential quick turnaround playing the same sectional opponent. As a Jasper fan the only meaningful changes I would like to see is Bosse and Memorial split on home/away since they share the same venue so the kids see Enlow each year. MD/Reitz are already split for Jasper which is ideal. Also I would break up the home/away sequence a bit. For Jasper 4 of the first 5 at home then 3 road games in a row. Regarding front loaded vs back loaded scheduling I don't see a great fix since A: it's hard to anticipate who will be top/bottom dog year in and year out and B: you have to play everybody anyway. Look at Jasper. Their end of the year gauntlet means two of the first three games of the year are Memorial and Reitz. It's a bit odd to say Jasper had a "easy" front end schedule when the last 4 SIAC state championships were from those two teams. Just shows how hard it is to anticipate which teams will rise and fall. The only fix for that is to change the schedule annually to account for anticipated rising and falling. Using the previous year's standings for seeding purposes would probably work best but would have obvious limitiations, The one year fall off of Memorial as an example.

Scenario A: Guy shows up at house with 20K in cash to give to hitman. No exchange of money. Do you arrest? Scenario B: Guy shows up at house with 20K in cash and gives it to hitman. Money is exchanged. Do you arrest? Scenario .C: Agreement is made for hitman to kill wife first and money will exchange after life insurance is collected. Do you arrest? (in each scenario the hitman is a undercover cop)

Of course not. I do want to live in a world where people whose conduct and actions facilitate them in committing crimes they intend to commit are arrested before they commit such crime. An elected judge determined that happened in this case. Did I mention the guy bought condoms before going to meet the girl at her house? Their dialogue include plenty of innuendo and sexual messaging. His defense entirely rest on his statement that "I was going to walk away if she was actually 13." (not verbatim). No one should be arrested for wanting to kill their ex wife (just having the thought). People who actively try to hire a hit man to kill their ex wife should be arrested. In the case above the judge determined the guy tried to hire a hit man.
