  1. Sagarin seems to be the way to go. Although somewhat comical weeks 1-9, it does seem to have a pretty good grip on things entering the regional/semi-state level.
  2. Maybe you are basing that on Snider going 2-3 against Dwenger, Homestead, and Carroll last year? Don't forget, they won the state championship in 2015 and was one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the entire state. Snider was also one of the ten best teams in the state in 2017. Let's not pull the plug on them yet, lol.
  3. I'm not sure who gets the call at QB. Like I said, this years team is a mystery to me. They lose some strong players from last year...........a team that was actually better than most people realize. We know they will reload. But will they just get by or will they compete for a state championship..............I don't know. I do know they will have to fix their issues in the secondary if they want to get by Carroll.
  4. Certainly makes the road easier for northern powers Penn , Snider, or whoever comes out of the Duneland. Some on here will call BS, but I prefer the Greyhounds stay north. The regional will be less interesting without them there. I will miss the Snider/Carmel match-up. Lopsided as far as wins and losses go? Sure. But very competitive games nonetheless.
  5. Out of the Northeast.............Snider, Homestead, and Carroll. Snider will be out for blood this year after dropping games to both Homestead and Carroll last year. They seem to be a bit of a mystery to me though. On one hand I can see them bowing out of the sectionals for the second year in a row after a string of 12 straight championships. On the other hand, well, they are still Snider. They could perhaps put together a team that can rumble with the Indy big boys. Never count out Tippmann/Isaacs/Bush. Don't sleep on Carroll. In fact, I have them as the early favorite to win the SAC and upend Snider in the sectionals for a second year in a row. They have a good quarterback and a great core of receivers returning. Snider's weakness is typically their pass defense. Carroll could exploit that............again. Homestead took a big hit when Luke Goode decided to hang up his cleats on the gridiron to focus on Baskeball and his commitment to Illinois. He would have been one of the best 3 or 4 quarterbacks in the state. The Spartans always seem to reload at the quarterback position though. And with the return of Braeden Hardwick, they could make some noise. Homestead was one of the best teams in the state last year when he was healthy. I'm going to go with a 3rd or 4th place finish in the loaded SAC (loaded at the top) this year.
  6. 6A is boring because it's the same Mega Schools every year. Kudos to CG, not mega school, just a great program. At least 5A is more balanced enrollment wise.
  7. Noted. Not sure where the "tinfoil hat" came from. You know nothing about me. See page 59 of The Democrat's roster for a Trump - beater in 2020 in the other forum. Pretty much the same as last year with the top 4 teams. Another fun, competitive year.
  8. I support Donald Trump I support anyone who's not a Good ol Boy (this doesn't include anyone named Clinton, Obama, Bush, Biden, or Romney). I support the party that abolished slavery I support Black Lives Matter I support All Lives Matter I support Blue Lives Matter I support peaceful protests I support the use of tear gas when innocent businesses and buildings are are being looted by ignorant people, black and white I support the lowest ever unemployment rate among African Americans I support change (having a president who's not a Good ol Boy) I support Make America Great Again - for the idiots that still don't know, this means DRAINING THE SWAMP. It has nothing to do with racism, which the left would like you to believe. I'm a Republican, a conservative who cares for ALL people. I'm not a racist or bigot that Democrats want the black community to believe in order to gain their vote. I believe in giving our country back to the people (Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, Indian). I do not believe in a party that believes in total government control.
  9. Ask someone on the left.
  10. If Valpo plays their best game and Dwenger plays their best game, Valpo wins the game. Valpo probably wins that game 8 out of 10. No one is claiming Dwenger was the better team. They weren't. But there certainly wasn't a 21 point difference between the two programs as one on here suggested. If Robert is correct, and Dwenger is better this year than last, then Valpo will have their hands full at semi-state. Personally, I like the direction the Vikings are headed. And with this stud quarterback transferring from Jeff, I'd like to think that Valpo might be the team to beat in all of 5a. Good luck to them.
  11. I respect your opinion, I just think you are biased in one direction. Since you're from the region, you look at all the things that could have happened on behalf of Valpo. I look at the missed opportunities by Dwenger as a result of being Fort Wayne.................human nature. I do think Valpo is the team to beat this year up north.................possibly all of 5a. Good luck to them, I'd like to see them get a state championship.
  12. Rose colored glasses. I guess Dwenger's highly touted defense didn't have anything to do with they way Valpo's quarterback played. Three touchdowns? That's figuring everything going right for Valpo and nothing going right for Dwenger. What if everything went right for the Saints and nothing for the Vikings? Dwenger by three touchdowns? C'mon man, seriously. How about a simple congratulations to Valpo for winning a hard fought game?
  13. Not sure we watched the same game. The game I saw had Valpo winning 10-7 in a pretty close battle.
  14. I didn't beat anyone, but thanks anyway.
  15. The SAC represents a wide range of classes. With much smaller schools, they'll never compete with the HCC head to head. Three or four teams at the top? Sure. But not from top to bottom. Two at the 5A level. Both won by Snider. One was against a school two and a half times their size. Northrop isn't much of anything when it comes to football. Carroll and Homestead are new additions to the SAC. The rest of the teams represent the smaller classes. Snider could make a case for having the best team in the state of Indiana five times (despite a much smaller enrollment than their counterparts)...............86', 92', 97', 04', and 15'. And congrats on your winnings last year, sincerely. Funny how Homestead almost loses to Noblesville one week and outplays Carmel for a half the next. Anything can happen. Remember when Elmhurst was featured in USA Today for having lost several games in a row (I don't remember exactly. It was in the 60 range I believe)? That streak ended against the defending state champions..........Dwenger.
  16. The SAC has 21 state championships by 6 different teams, so the record pretty much speaks for itself. As far as this Stax character goes, he doesn't possess the football intellect or certainly the mental capacity to engage in an intelligent football debate. Why Noblesville "almost" beat Homestead last year isn't worth 20 seconds of my time. The Spartans know, and that's all that matters.
  17. What does that have to do with them winning one game in the HCC?
  18. That wouldn't surprise me. He is a major D1 Recruit in basketball. Probably would have had D1 offers in football as well. Bad news for Homestead football, great news for their opponents. The Spartans will reload at the position, they always do.
  19. The 92' team was the whole package with a very good defense. We all know how prolific Dwenger was in the early 90's and Snider shut them out 12-0. Luers was a state champion team in 92', but like you said, they played Snider in the Jamboree. What the 2015 team had was a crazy good passing game led by a Division 1 quarterback, a Division 1 receiver, and another receiver who should have gone Division 1. Anyway, not to hijack the New Pal thread. Thanks to the Dragon Coaches for sharing that game.
  20. 1997, 2004, & 2015............no particular order.
  21. New Haven is turf............correct?
  22. What's impressive about Northrop and Wayne is that the visiting side is a duplicate of the home side......minus the press box. All Concrete, concessions on the 50, bathrooms on the 30's. Five Thousand seating capacity, although I've seen 10,000 pack the house on a few occasions.
  23. Carroll has the potential to field their best team ever this fall. With Carmel going south, I like them to make it to semi-state this year. Snider and Homestead will test them though. Homestead has one of the best QB's in the state and Snider's just good every year. And with schools like Dwenger, Concordia, and Luers on the schedule, they should be battle tested.
