  1. According to the Return to Play Plan, no competition between schools is allowed until Saturday. So I imagine there could be a scrimmage on Saturday. I haven't heard anything.
  2. Lol, when two of those games are potentially against a program that goes by the name of Clemson it does.
  3. Even with Clemson on the schedule potentially twice?
  4. I just ran a google search on the word "naive." A link to the Gridiron Digest popped up with the name TheStatGuy on it.
  5. The same poster delivers some sort of a backhanded political slap on every topic.
  6. Rumble in the jungle........for sure. I'll take Merrillville as the early favorite, but not by much.
  7. Between Valpo and Merrillville, it looks like the region will be well represented this year. Top 6 or 7 regardless of class?
  8. All I know is what I read here and online. I'm assuming it was approved. Sorry, I know that doesn't help.
  9. Something tells me that there is something more in store for this kid than Valparaiso. His highlights are impressive. Either way, Snider is getting a good one.
  10. Maybe just making sure everyone is on the same page going into the first day of practice? Tweaking a rule or two?
  11. I don't have a problem with that. They could have done that in the spring and left the economy open in the process. Shutting down the economy did more harm than good. And when I say "economy", that includes sporting events. This is still a football discussion even though politics plays a hand.
  12. That's probably a 50/50 split among fans. My vote is for independence. I've said that. My guess is that they'd be more likely to drop USC than Navy. Nope. I'm not a ND administrator, but I think Navy ranks higher than USC and Stanford. Fact. I really don't think it will. On one hand, I think DT makes a good point. If there is a year, then this is it. But I'd put a friendly 4 to 1 odds that Notre Dame keeps Navy somehow this year.
  13. Good post. The Irish certainly have plenty to think about moving forward. You could very well be right and I may be wrong, but come 2021, Notre Dame is back to playing their independent schedule. This is a one time thing. National draw yes, but probably more Chicago than New York. Indiana kids grow up loving Notre Dame football. I'm not sure moving to the ACC will impact their desire to play for the Irish. I don't think we'll have to worry about Notre Dame football joining the ACC for good though. But who knows, after this year, the administration may decide to go another direction.
  14. Sports also keeps a percentage of kids out of trouble. Some won't get into trouble regardless.........some will. Taking athletics away from these students is just a bad idea in my opinion. And for some, it's all they have to look forward to. Some will say this is selfish thinking because our desire to watch football is stronger than the safety of our kids. Could canceling athletics due to public pressure also be considered a form of selfishness? Because pressure is what this is really about when considering whether or not to play.
  15. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29559800/rutgers-football-covid-19-outbreak-linked-campus-party What do high school juniors and seniors do on Friday and Saturday nights if they aren't playing football? Do we honestly believe they are social distancing?
  16. This is just an absolute tragedy for the student athletes. If they aren't playing sports, they'll be elsewhere. They certainly won't be social distancing.
  17. I love your one word answers that have no substance.
  18. Page 2.......10th post....If we as a nation, could have taken this more serious. We wouldnt be in this spot. We as adults in this nation failed our kids. ....TheStatGuy..........." And you have the audacity to call me out?
  19. Lol, you don't think football and politics go hand in hand? I won't elaborate out of respect for Coach Nowlin, but it was your good friend Statguy that brought it into the equation. Go back and read.
  20. No one said anything about you not caring about kids. Your're just brain dead when it comes to politics.
  21. Tried to make it four, but apparently there is a limit of 3 reactions per day.
  22. Agree. Everyone else falls in line from here. Not because what Marion County was correct. But because everyone else will look bad if there does happen to be a Covid outbreak within their football programs.
  23. I think Chatard would have had their hands full with Merrillville, Valpo, Dwenger, and Homestead.
  24. It's just a matter of time before that name comes under attack.
