  1. Northeast 8 is solid this year. Fun conference to keep an eye on.
  2. No, I'm not talking about the game in Fort Wayne at Spuller stadium. I'm talking about the game up in Kendallville between East Noble and Leo. If anyone within an hours driving distance wants to see the quality of football in the Northeast 8, look no further than this one. Right now I see this conference as a four team race between East Noble, New Haven, Leo, and Columbia City. Any matchup involving two of these teams is worth attending. The game this Friday in Kendallville will be a rocking atmosphere. Get there early and tailgate. East Noble's only blemish this season is a loss to Snider. They showed lots of fight in that game and the fans up there felt the game could have been closer than the score indicated. This will be their first major test in conference, but make no mistake, they are ready for the task at hand. Leo was close in a game against Kokomo. In fact, they were up 14-0 at one point. That's not bad considering some think Kokomo is a Top 20 team regardless of class. That's saying something for a 4A program. They also looked pretty good in their game against New Haven, the Bulldogs were just an extra point better in overtime. Throughout that game, I couldn't help but wonder if New Haven is going to be the team up north that gives East Central a run for their money, and Leo was a two point conversion away from beating them. I'll be in Fort Wayne at a game that will decide who the real kingpin of the SAC is. But If you're north or northeast of Allen County, take the trip to Kendallville if you're interested in seeing a really good football game.
  3. I commend your post. You'd make a good attorney. I still think it had an impact though. For the record, this is the first time I've defended Cathedral in all my years on the forum.............no dog in the fight. To the Chatard contingent: Congratulations on your impressive win.
  4. Why does every coach try to ice the opposing team's kicker at the end of the game when the kick is going to determine the outcome? I respect what you're saying, I'm just not buying it. All sorts of things can change the momentum of a football game. Delaying it until the next morning is one of them. Just my humble opinion. So you're acknowledging that the delay had some kind of an impact.
  5. Maybe the Irish are back to being normal? A Top Ten program? Or would you say being Top 3 is normal? I feel that being Top 3 for Cathedral was just a trend that lasted 5 years or so. Fair, just had to hear it from a Cathedral fan.
  6. In my unbiased opinion, I have a hard time believing that it didn't have some sort of impact. Kudos to Chatard for finishing the job on Saturday morning. A high percentage of kids who can afford offseason training.
  7. Valpo proved last year that one guy can make a difference in whether you're barely a top ten team in your respective class to being, arguably, one of the top two or three teams in your class.
  8. Embarrassing that the lights went out and changed the trajectory of the game? Or embarrassing that they lost to a smaller school. Isn't Chatard privy to the same kind of resources that Cathedral is? I'm asking an honest question since I don't live in Indy.
  9. I've got to roll with Lawrence North in this one by a touchdown. Things are kind of confusing after Ben Davis, Center Grove, and Brownsburg. East Central has earned their spot at #4..............for now. I've got Snider, HSE, Fishers, Crown Point, and a few others in a blender after that.
  10. I just don't know anything about Cristian Brothers or Detroit King. I do feel like Indiana has closed the gap with Ohio and has probably surpassed Michigan, Kentucky, and Illinois.
  11. Center Grove destroys Trinity. Trinity destroys Carmel. Carmel barely escapes a Homestead team that got obliterated by Noblesville. Greyhounds are overrated at 15, might not even be Top 25.
  12. Squeaked one out against Leo after falling behind two touchdowns. Leo was playing catchup all night against New Haven. East Noble's no chump. North will be fun to watch.
  13. I'm optimistic, I always take the North. Only made it to one game last year. Indeed. East Central looking good.
  14. I'll take the North in this one. Tre Bates and company looked pretty impressive as New Haven dodged a bullet at Leo. Whoever comes out the North will be battle tested.
  15. New Haven 42, Leo 41...........missed PAT in overtime. East Noble has some company in Sectional 19
  16. New Haven 35, Leo 35............1 minute to go
  17. This sectional gets more exciting by the week. Right now I have New Haven as a slight favorite over East Noble. Leo is a good football team though, they'll want another crack at the Bulldogs and are more than capable of winning this thing. Dwenger showing signs of life tonight against Carroll. Wayne could make things interesting, but don't see them surviving this. When Snider hit South Side tonight, the Archers hit back. Stay tuned.

  18. To be fair, Jay County is ranked 46th in 4a.
  19. I have no affiliation with Dwenger, so no reason to be mad. Also no reason to be mad at a response that come from the heart versus going on the attack. I've always admired Dwenger both academically and athletically. I wish them the very best moving forward. Fort Wayne football isn't the same without Dwenger competing for the SAC championship.
  20. Why the drop in enrollment over the past few years? Are Dwenger families saving money and sending their kids to Carroll? Carroll has good academics and athletics, one of the better public schools in the state.
  21. I don't disagree with any of that. I'm just betting that they are one of the best 25 teams in the state. Do they crack the Top 25 with a win over Lawrence Central?

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, I'm just not ready to dub Dabo as a bad coach coming off of an 11-2 season.
  23. I just think people are jumping the gun on Warren Central being "a mess." Maybe they just played two very good teams that made them look that way. I could be right, I could be wrong. We'll find out if Warren Central is as bad as you say they are in the coming weeks. I won't come on here and tell you I 'I told you so', but I will admit that I'm wrong if it comes down to it. Against Snider, their biggest issue was QB and WR's connecting. And when they did connect, they had several dropped passes. I can't speak for the Carroll game, but I know Carroll fans weren't impressed with the sloppy play of the Chargers. Either way, the Warriors were pretty close to a victory on your #12's home field. (I think that's where you had them) And yes, I do want them to be good. It's been a few years since a team from Fort Wayne beat a good team from Indy. It would be nice to say we've registered three over the course of ten months. At least 10 of the top 12 teams are from Indy, it's just nice to have a small piece of the pie.
