  1. Since then, I’ve been to an 18 degree college lacrosse game in February in Chicago sitting on snow covered bleachers and that felt TOASTY compared to that Chatard/Memorial game in 2008. Coldest I’ve ever been in my life.
  2. In all honesty, my sentiments (in most things football related as well) probably falls not too far from @PhilLee ‘s. With that, much like what @Prospect has stated, I’ll do whatever it takes (as a fan) to see the kids and coaches put together this Frankenstein monster of a 2020 season and ride it to some kind of completion. My better half and I had already decided we weren’t going to LOS if the opportunity presented. In part because we have some aged and ailing older relatives we are involved in the care of and in part because we just don’t want the potential hassle. if we can just cull 3 more weeks out of this beast I’ll consider it a mission accomplished. @BobRef - thinking I might need one of your “cliche call-outs” for the above. I am aspiring for 100% on the cliche meter....someday.
  3. I wonder if that might not be the model post-COVID as well. I could see it as possibly revenue enhancing.
  4. I’d suggest inserting “Ed.” somewhere in that sentence.
  5. Stay in your lane, bro.....stay in your lane.... (think I may have broken that rule on another thread, btw).
  6. No, you are definitely not. I can vouch for that. Outside of HS football and some of your opinions there, you and I are actually pretty simpatico. Man....that kind of stung to say.....
  7. Regardless how close Sags might be to determining how these games might play out, I marvel at times to just how predisposed folks who know better are inclined to the default that bigger schools automatically are going to defeat smaller school. If 2A Mater Dei can compete effectively and even outright win the SIAC against much bigger schools (and no one gives it even a second thought) then why is a stretch to imagine Southridge doing so? Especially a Southridge team that has won the 2A State Championship and defeated Mater Dei on the way? Why don’t folks just assume they could compete in the SIAC as effectively as Mater Dei? edit. Believe me, some of the 5A Sectionals around the state should thank God there aren’t some decent 2A teams playing in them.
  8. Yeah......and I am not optimistic. I can envision the razor wire going up on the county line perimeter. I’m scheduled to spend the first week in December at Disney with every in-law for ten generations and then go back to Florida a couple of weeks later. In all honesty, if it wasn’t for a seriously ailing aunt in Connersville that I am really close to and a Mom with dementia in Indy, my wife and I would just stay there through April. At this point, both of us pretty much run our individual business/jobs by phone and laptop anyway....and if I need to do something in Indy involving real human contact I have enough people that can stand in for me that I can do it from most anywhere.
  9. Running clock games were the norm last year during the regular season with Cathedral (as a losing effort) probably the only exception. Yeah, last year’s group played fast and the conditions at Concordia last Fall took a little getting used to.
  10. Yep.....I’m afraid of the same.
  11. I’d just emphasize to everyone that this year’s Trojan squad is different than last year’s. Last year’s group could put 21 on you if you blinked your eyes. This year’s group is a little more methodical. One big difference this year will be the field. It was grass last year and it was pretty wet and muddy. It really slowed down both teams last year.
  12. Yeah....there seems to be some disagreement about that.
  13. Heck...I was at the ACME last year. I had the chili and a tenderloin. Enjoy your time visiting your daughter near Butler (my Alma Mater).
  14. Honestly, when the IHSAA set up the “new” 5A, the only legit team was Snider....and they bumped up and down between 5A and 6A.
  15. If I wasn’t already committed to attend Chatard/Concordia, I’d be watching or looking for whatever tickets @Impartial_Observer might be able to finagle for that game. I think it’s the Game of the Week.
  16. Naw...it was actually reassuring to me that you were still around....otherwise I wouldn’t have even noticed.....lapdogs get so little credit...deservedly.
  17. Thanks....errr...seems to me someone else here has some certain soreness... I’m just a happy panther.
  18. My butt is fine.....”panther-like” I’ve been told....whatever that might mean.....I’ll take it as a compliment, though..
  19. So I deserve a medal too? This just gets better and better.
  20. Wow....you’re taking credit for that? I thought megalomania was something I only read about as regards Dr. Doom in the Fantastic Four.............when I was 8.
  21. Yeah...think I’m there too. That said...not entirely sure which 2 teams, though. Seriously though, I would NOT want to play Roncalli at this point of the season. They lost early to Chatard but have won some tough, tough games. They beat a “relatively” healthy East Central at season's end pretty definitively. Seriously thinking they might well show up at Lucas Oil.
  22. Muda....thanks for the downtick it reminds me of the good old days when we fought like cats and dogs and you had some semblance of a spine. Makes me sad seeing you a lapdog for DT....feel for ya’.
  23. Raking my leaves is a noble cause. You throwing crap on a wall is....well.... just something else distracting that I need to clean up as I rake my leaves.
  24. My only cause is to not favor lunacy and shy from self-aggrandizement. Consider me obsequious. You?
  25. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Seems a roughly equivalent question.
