The IHSAA by-laws are very clear. Games are not practices. So if the first thing they missed is the game last Friday and they did not have a Saturday practice scheduled then missing this Monday thru Thursday would only be 4 practices missed.

It depends on how many practices they missed. Here is the IHSAA by-law: 9-14 Practice Attendance Required to Participate in a Contest A student-athlete must attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled Practice sessions to be eligible for interschool athletic competition. If a student fails to attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled Practice sessions, such student shall be required to complete the following prior to participating in a Contest: a. attend and actively participate in all required Pre-participation Practice sessions, see rules 50 and 101; b. attendance and active participation in Four (4) school-supervised Practice sessions of normal length, which shall occur on Four (4) separate days prior to the day of the Contest, if the student fails to attend and actively participate in more than Four (4) but less than Eleven (11) consecutive days of regularly scheduled Practice; c. attendance and active participation in Six (6) school supervised Practice sessions of normal length, which shall occur on Six (6) separate days prior to the day of the Contest, if the student fails to attend and actively participate in more than Ten (10) consecutive days of regularly scheduled Practice. INTERPRETATION: Days Missed No. of Practices Required 5 to 10 4 More than 10 consecutive 6

No idea. I can not find any news reports on the game or any other information other than the score.

Biggest surprise of the night has to be South Spencer over Tell City 35-26. Anyone have any details on how the game went?

That district plan in Illinois resulted in Mt. Carmel dropping out of the Big 8. The Big 8 was then down to 6 teams which lead to the end of the Big 8 with two teams going to the SIAC and the other four going to the PAC. Then Illinois said never mind, we are not going to do the district plan.

I think that was what the old cluster system was if I remember right.

The Evansville newspaper said that the game was moved up to Thursday due to no officials being available on Friday. I assume they received a waiver for IHSAA by-law 54.3-1

If you are asking about the IHSAA by-laws then nothing has changed in the last 27 years. Seniors are allowed to play JV.

The only year I could find (going back to 1994) that Gibson Southern played a sectional game at Princeton was 2011. I can find no information that this game was scheduled to be played at Gibson Southern.
