  5. Cathedral 31 Carmel 24 No hate on Carmel but Irish with a huge statement last week. Can’t wait to watch this one tonight
  6. They’re second to the back to back 5a champs (who Valpo lost to in their last game) by 7 points/votes. Relax.
  7. Still 20-6 LJ heading to 4th. West Side having a lot of trouble moving the ball, not sure they have more than 120 yards. Jeff definitely has left some points on the field, their D-line has been dominant
  8. Lafayette Jeff 20 West Lafayette 0 2Q 7 min Harrison (WL) 28 TH South 0 2Q 11 min McCutcheon 7 Guerin Catholic 14 2Q 10 min
  9. Will be streamed on YouTube by Jeff. Channel is called JHS Scheumann
  10. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this game? Both teams lose some significant players from last year. WL obviously still has the best player on the field in Yanni but lose a D1 D-lineman along with their record breaking QB and best WR. Jeff lost their leading rusher, top 2 leading receivers and starting QB to transfer but bring back two D1 D-lineman. Game was supposed to be played @ WL but switched to Jeff’s field because they have been approved to hold 1500 fans opposed to 500. Cannot see another 74-66 game with these teams breaking in new QB’s. Both defenses will be good, not sure about the offenses. Jeff got to scrimmage Pike last week while WL’s was cancelled with Harrison. I will take Jeff 35-27
  11. I really think West Lafayette is going to face a strong falloff here soon. I think they will still be the best team in the Hoosier conference this year but they will have many close games. Word on the street is their numbers have been way down in 7th and 8th grade recently and may not have some of the top tier talent they’ve had the past 5-10 years. I’ll never doubt Coach Fry and his staff without seeing them perform but I just can’t see them being as good as they’ve been recently even with Yanni. Guess we will see week 1 against Jeff
  12. I mean “Big George” was only a Freshman All American, 2nd team All Big Ten, and led the country in TFL’s by a freshman. Don’t see the need to harp on George for playing 3A football and being the best player on an undefeated state champion team. The MIC argument is completely irrelevant since George has already played a season of Big Ten football and has shown what he can do. Im sure Curry and any D1 bound DE hopes they can have as good of a freshman year as George did. We all know the MIC is the best football conference in Indiana doesn’t change the fact George had a stellar freshmen year. Maybe Curry will end up being better, but don’t try and downplay George because he played in 3A when he was one of the best defensive players on a Big Ten team as an 18 year old.
  13. I posted this in another thread before but here is the list of the top 20 winningest programs in Indiana history. Note this list was made BEFORE the 2018 season. So this list is does not account for wins in the 2018 and 2019 seasons
  14. Speaking on next year, I would love to see some of the Lafayette schools play bigger opponents. West Lafayette vs a lower tier HCC school like Franklin Central or Noblesville would be a good matchup. Lafayette Jeff vs a “rebuilding” (using that term cautiously) New Pal would be very interesting. WL Harrison vs a school like Gibson Southern or Brebeuf would be a great challenge for them.
  15. Merrillville 20 Lafayette Jeff 20 4Q 10:56 PAT missed by Jeff. Great game
  16. Merrillville 20 Lafayette Jeff 14 End of 3Q Jeff marching inside the 10 Jeff RB Marquis Munoz has 166 yards through 3 quarters
  17. Merrillville 14 Lafayette Jeff 14 3Q 11:45 (2 PT conversion good) Marquis Munoz 80 yard TD run on the first play of half
  18. Merrillville 14 Jeff 6 Half Pirates 60 yard fumble return TD off a sack on last play of half. Jeff QB Maximus Grimes injured on the play and helped off the field. Don’t want to spread false rumors but he was not able to put any pressure on his leg. Looked like a torn ACL
  19. Merrillville 7 Lafayette Jeff 6 (pat botched)
  20. https://www.jconline.com/story/sports/2019/10/29/opportunity-awaits-lafayette-jeff-no-4-merrillville/2484100001/ fresh off the press from J&C
  21. Well there’s a difference between being capable and your coach trusting you enough to make it in the 4th quarter with less than 8 minutes left to give you the lead, which was the case in the Jeff LC game.
  22. It’s hard to tell, they don’t have any stats on maxpreps. I plan on watching the Merrillville Valpo game before Friday to get a better grip on them. And you’re right, Jeff can not afford to kick out of bounds. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them pooch it to the 30 or 35 like they were doing a lot earlier in the season. Good news is their kicker is capable of hitting FG’s around 30 yards. He made one to give them the lead against LC this year.
  23. Give me Jeff 52-30. I think there’s some folks sleeping on the Bronchos a little bit. This is a big statement game for their program .
  24. I mean yeah LC is definitely the 2nd or 3rd “worst” team in the MIC this, but with LC beating BD and LN I wouldn’t say it isn’t a good win. It’s impossible to read the MIC this year. I would have said North Central was the best team prior to last week. Now I have no clue
