I'd be all-in on Hartline. Kane Wommack is quietly having a great start to his career at South Alabama after a good stint as Indiana's DC a few years back. You could convince me 64 year old Willie Fritz at Tulane as a 4-5 year band aid solution is a better option. The difference in buy-out between the end of this season and the end of next season is $12million. And while that may seem like a lot, especially if they fire him after this year with his $20million buyout, it's paid over the course of his remaining contract shelf life (5 years). Indiana is about to see a major media revenue boost to start next season when these PAC12 teams are set to join. Current deal is around ~$60 million and figures estimate the new deal to be around ~$90mil a year. Indiana can "afford" to fire Tom Allen after this year. The real question is, does Indiana actually want to invest in the program. I'm talking a brand new practice/indoor facility. A weight room that is exclusive to the football team (they share with other sports). And just an overall salary pool increase to not only attract, but keep quality assistants. You can fire Tom Allen and the next guy might be better, but nothing is going to last until the latter happens. And it may never happen.

Chatard's win over Cincinnati Elder Friday. And not just any win, but a statement, blowout win 34-7. Elder at 5-3 has losses to Ohio D1 #1 St. Edward (1 point) and D1 #2 Pickerington North (4 points) before getting roughed up by Moeller last week. Still have wins over both St. Xavier's and a team solid team from Philly. No clue what kind of shape Elder was in last week but I also think Chatard was without their starting QB. Impressive win by Chatard to end the regular season as they look to run the table for an undefeated season and state championship.

Center Grove at Cathedral

They actually had a 3 TD with with under 2 min to play. CG picked up a first down with about 2:30 left and Cathedral didn’t call a TO basically conceding the game down 2 scores. CG for whatever reason didn’t kneel it out and scored on the next play with just under 2 minutes left and then all the fireworks happened. -

Fun game. Wished the outcome was different, but highly entertaining nonetheless. Cathedral needs to figure out it’s pass D quick. -

Center Grove 45 Cathedral 38 Final. CG survives, literally. Irish scored 2 TD’s in the last minute but CG converted 3rd down inside their own 10 and avoided punting out of their own end zone. -

Cathedral finally sustains a drive. CG 31 Cathedral 24 Refs losing control of this game quick. Missed consecutive late hit out of bounds before finally calling it the third time around. Getting chippy. -

I lied. Cathedral hits a bomb and then recovers surprise onside kick and is on the move. 31-17 2 min left 3Q -

Was on scholarship for 4 years and all 4 years suffered season ending injuries. Penix displayed an unbelievable amount of talent.....when he was healthy.

Who is the 5* "chosen one"? Buchner? Buchner wasn't a 5* nor was he ever "benched". Milroe won the job out of camp. Ty Simpson is a redshirt-Freshman former 5* who backs up Milroe now. Buchner is 3rd string with two highly touted true freshman behind him redshirting.

Milroe is 10x better than Buchner. Buchner is like the 4th best QB on that roster. Buchner can't throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield.

Sectional Draw 2023

I would agree to that and why many people think 4A and 5A are interchangeable and why 3A belongs in the discussion some years. -
Sectional Draw 2023

I was asked to split 4A in half. I also did top to bottom averages for both 4A and 5A. There isn't a huge difference once everything is averaged out. And the original argument was that 5A has been watered down since the inception of the success factor because the majority of 5A state champions have come from 4A enrollment schools. -

I think you can reasonably draw two conclusions from the data. 1. 5A is better (only slightly) top to bottom than 4A....but isn't that expected? 2. Collectively, the top 10 teams in 4A are just as good as the top 10 teams in 5A. I think we can all agree that if the largest 32 schools stayed 6A and the smallest 32 schools went 1A, 5A would be much stronger than it currently is. -

5A--average Sagarin 94 4A top 32---average Sagarin 67 All of 4A---average Sagarin 132 Again there isn't a wide disparity between 4A and 5A top to bottom, especially at the top, which was the premise of the original argument. -

Who highly touted Warren Central pre-season? Sagarin? His data doesn't become very reliant until after weeks 4-5. There were multiple posts dogging Warren Central, many questioning whether or not they'd finish above .500. They've been on the downswing the last several seasons. I would say the top 10 in 4A and 5A are about as similarly comparable as possible. -

There's also double the amount of teams in 3A and 4A that significantly skew the averages. Average Sagarin rank for the top 10 teams in each of the following classes. 5A-28 4A-29 3A-45 -
