I know they have a RB committed to Michigan and a few other D1 kids. Would have expected a much better fight against Ben Davis and even though East Central is a great football team this year (regardless of class) pretty shocking to see Moeller get beat up like that. Trinity down in Louisville is another team who doesn't appear to be their normal selves this year. Outcome against Carmel will be very telling.

Can't really disagree here. I'm liking my PSU pick more and more after watching OSU struggle against my Hoosiers. Think Hoosiers have a decent enough defense to keep them competitive in most games. Offense is a major WIP.

Penn scored a TD late on a punt return

Seating I'm guessing somewhere between around 4-5k. Plenty of room along the sidelines to stand as well. I wouldn't guess it's anywhere close to capacity tonight.

Brownsburg was very impressive. Very good RB and B10 receiver and QB throws a nice ball. I think their defense needs a lot of work if they want to hang with the CG's and Ben Davis' of the world but they have some firepower.

Back and forth for the first quarter and a half. Some pretty poor game management and bad execution gave Brownsburg the lead at halftime and then they exerted their will on Cathedral in second half. I think depth is going to be a major concern for Cathedral the rest of this year and magnified even more playing in 6A.

If the Penn QB can accurately throw the ball down the field this very well could be a game. Cathedral secondary no bueno at the moment. Would also help if they could get a pass rush.

Yes football magnet schools but Mater Dei and Bishop Gorman are parochial schools (same as Chatard/Roncalli/Ritter/Scecina) and Bosco is a prep school with Catholic affiliation, similar to a Chatard or Brebeuf. But yes, those schools absolutely recruit from all over and all have several high D1 caliber players as well.

He’s a big upgrade from last year. My biggest takeaway from that game is just how far Navy has fallen these last few seasons. Navy used to be a team you didn’t want to play and prepare for as a P5 opponent.

I’d say sectional 6 is very much up for grabs this year.

Was a little perplexed on the end of the half game management. Cathedral up 17-14 with a little over 3 minutes left finally got a defensive stop and then had the quickest 3 and out deep in their own territory. Positive plays on 1st and 2nd and then they rush to the line on 3rd and 2 and throw a 40 yard go route. Didn’t understand that. Brownsburg went down and scored and never looked back.

Pretty disappointing. Thoroughly out-coached and out-classed. Gave up a million yards and committed a million more penalties. Way to one-dimensional offensively. They’ll get better.

All for not as they turn it over on downs.

Feel like Carmel has won this type of game the last few years when they shouldn't have; Cass Tech last year and Trinity the year prior. On paper Christian Brothers is much more talented.

I genuinely feel that Taylor is a bright young man with exceptional talent that has unfortunately been given bad advice by his braindead agent. Sitting out the final year of your rookie contract demanding to be made the highest paid player at a position that is rapidly declining whilst coming off an injury is a comically bad decision. Colts are under no obligation to trade him this year unless the price is right and they still have the ability to tag him the following year. Taylor is losing a lot of long term money holding out.

That's the key. I would guess most 6A lines have guys that are pushing 3 bills. 300 lbs of fat and 300 lbs of muscle are two different animals.

Both teams should have well rested starters. Could be a good or a bad thing in this case given the circumstances.

Not sure if Michigan is playing checkers or chess here. Getting out in front of the NCAA with self-imposed penalties is always recommended. Self-imposing a punishment less severe than what the Infraction Committee already took off the table seems like the boldest of moves. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

I saw enough (in the trenches) that would have me concerned playing a team like Ben Davis right off the bat.

Really hard for me to get a read on Cathedral after week 1. Cathedral didn't play a single starter after halftime.
