  1. Here’s new data for @Piratefan101: Most Football State Titles In NWI: Hobart: 4 Andrean: 3 Valpo: 2 There are multiple teams with 1. In fact, out of those teams, Merrillville is the last one in terms of being most recent.
  2. It’s a good thing Carroll’s WR let everyone know he had a 1st down reception while trailing 21-3. From the looks of it he won’t get many more. Carroll’s OL is just getting abused. They have got to scheme a way to protect their QB at the half and give him some time to throw. Otherwise, like you said, it’s going to get even uglier very quickly.
  3. The trash talking after that hit and then the Carroll WR signaling for a first down while trailing 21-3 drives me absolutely crazy.
  4. Yep. It’s clear MD made the adjustments needed for this year.
  5. I only had time to watc the 1st half. I’m assuming the 2nd half was about the same. I think the elder Statesmen coaching MD schooled the young Andrean HC. Andrean didn’t look prepared and MD looked prepared for anything Andrean tried doing offensively.
  6. LOL...so true. But he'll pat himself on the back everytime he can mention Crown Point couldn't handle speed.
  7. That sounds like a lot of cheatin' and transferin' for what? King of the 5A North? No. King of the Duneland? No. King of Lake County? No. Sounds like a waste of resources and time.
  8. Whatever it is, can he be trusted? His opinion of Valpo, you know a DAC rival from about 10 miles east of Merrillville, was so blatantly wrong on so many occasions this season I'm not sure how he can possibly try to predict anything from a state level in 5A. At some point you just got a call a spade a spade and move on.
  9. Agree with pretty much everything. I think UGA is a lock with a W against Ga Tech. No way LSU could beat them bad enough in Atlanta to knock Georgia out. If LSU wins it's likely by less than 5.
  10. Agreed...and then the 2nd half?? Not sure why Getsy is still having Fields run when he's cramping and his hurting. Looking forward to seeing this offense when Fields actually has some protection AND WR's that can seperate. He's shown some flahes of what he can do with his arm when he has time.
  11. Great highlites of the Valpo/Snider game from WANE. I'm assuming #9 is the Valpo RB that has missed most of the season due to injury. He's big. He and that Valpo O-Line are going to be a for Whiteland's front 7. The QB scramble for a TD on 4th & Goal from the 9 was a miracle. Snider was SO close to bringing him down and sealing the win. https://www.google.com/search?q=valparaiso+vs.+snider+highlites&oq=valparaiso+vs.+snider+highlites&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i10i160.4794j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:1b63a94d,vid:YgEwTwhvrt8 Yep! Was that considered an upset when Valpo beat Carmel? IIRC, Dullaghan was Carmel's coach and was ticked Carmel had to travel north to Valpo for the State Championship.
  12. Marshall loves running Wildcat off tackle. It has to be demoralizing for a D-Line that can't stop it. Man, I agree with @scarab527. Marshall is a great coach whose style is tailor made for playoff football.
  13. Nope. And a lot of people, including me, penciled in Decatur Central as the team from the Mid-State.
  14. I imagine @Piratefan101 is at least 5 shots in somewhere on Broadway Avenue for having to deal with the fact the Valparaiso Vikings are kings of the 5A North and the hated Andrean Fighting '59'ers are heading back to LOS. It's going to be a very painful weekend for Cody. Perhaps Warriors4Life makes an appearance.
  15. He's been committed to ND for over a year. Could have also played baseball practically anywhere he wanted. Haven't heard if he'll also play baseball at ND.
  16. Bowen had 358 yards and 5 TD's by the time Andrean stopped feeding him the ball early in the 4th tonight. Beast. If I were Andrean's coach I'd make them watch some film of the 2014 game when Andrean was going for a repeat and Tri West slapped them back to Lake County. I'm guessing the boys from Evansville wanted this rematch and don't plan on losing 2 years in a row to the '59'ers.
  17. I feel like these two teams are extremely identical in playing style. Is that correct? Valpo is just enormous on the lines and uses that to their advantage with a slow paced game. Valpo is very young and playing vergy solid as of late with a late addition at RB. How experienced is Whiteland? Feels like an opening line of Valpo -1.5. No offense to Whiteland, but Valpo is finally catching somewhat of a break in the Finals. The Vikings faced the following offensive juggernauts in their 3 previous visits: 85: Jeff George 01: James Banks 19: Charlie Spegal
  18. Looks like Valpo had 2 chartered buses, 2 normal buses, and a short bus take off around 3 PM CT. I'm guessing the guys getting PT are perfectly comfortable on those chartered buses.
  19. It's going to be brutal if it's a north wind blowing off the lake at 20 mph. No thanks.
  20. I think one of those DB's is Patrick Clacks though. Is that correct @scarab527? If Maxpreps is correct, he has 70 receptions for over 1,000 yards and 13 TD's. The Junior also has an assortment of D1 scholarship offers. What he makes up for in height vs. the Luers WR's is likely made up for in talent. Nonetheless, it won't be an easy night to throw the ball based on weather conditions.
  21. Yeah. Merrillville and Chicago south suburban Crete-Monee bring a plethora of athletes and speed to the field. I just find it interesting when subjective comments are passed off as facts. But, none of that really matters. Game time temps will have real feels in the single digits with 20+ mph wind gusts. I think this one will be won in the trenches. I would personally take Andrean in this scenario since they have the ultimate workhorse at RB.
  22. My point was that Andrean isn't a bunch of farm boys. I'm curious to know how it was determined Luers has played much more atlhetes and speed.
  23. I was referring to “more athletes and speed.” How was that determined?
  24. That's an interesting comment. How did you come to that conclusion? Luers isn't playing a rural 2A school in Farmsville. They're playing a school that sits on the Merrillville/Gary border.
