  1. Sounds like my type of guy! Hopefully, the roots he and his family of developed in West Lafayette are now stronger than the appeal of going back to Louisville.
  2. Haha. I love watching Burrow throw the ball. His accuracy is insane. Looks like the NFL is proving that 2018 LSU passing offense was indeed freakishly good with Burrow, Jefferson, and Chase.
  3. I've seen about 5 minutes of TCU football this year. I've never been much of a fan of the Big 12. Can they hang with Michigan? Georgia at -6.5 seems like a lock.
  4. I hope you're wrong. All I ever hear publically is that he and his family love living in West Lafayette and he likes the idea of building something special at Purdue. Him "building something special" was even mentioned during the BTT game. He has publically said before anyone can win in places that are historically good. My hope is he relishes the idea of turning Purdue into a consistant 8-10+ win team over going back to Louisville. Afterall, it is Louisville. How long will he be the prodical son without any ACC Titles or CFP births? Their fans are almost as bad as Auburn's when it comes to expecations vs. reality. To whom much is given much is expected.
  5. I'm happy Fields played well and made solid progress throwing the ball downfield. The 1st INT was clearly on the WR for not getting out of his break on a perfectly thrown ball. I'm happy the Bears retained their hold on the #2 pick. I'm not happy the Bears lost to Rodgers, again. And of course he taunted the fans like always and it was painful to watch as always. I'm also not happy Getsy focuses on the run at times when Fields was really cooking throwing the ball down field. Getsy went way too conservate in the play calling when the Bears could have put their foot on the Packers throat. Almost fealt like the Bears wanted to compete but not win.
  6. Wow...Am I living under a rock? I completely missed that it was expanding to 12. Not sure why I thought 8. I just read the 1st round is expected to generate roughly $450M in Revenue from ESPN. I can't readily find any data, but I would be curious to see how much TV Revenue the SEC and Big 10 will earn today. As someone else mentioned, I have a feeling the Conference Championship games will be useless. USC would agree. @temptation I agree with you! An SEC/BIg 10 Playoff game in the Big House, Happy Valley, The Shoe, or Camp Randall beats a meaningless Bowl game in Florida every single year. "The first round of the 2024-25 playoff will take place throughout the week ending Saturday, Dec. 21; the CFP will attempt to schedule those first-round games later in that week. Games will be hosted either at home stadiums of the highest-seeded teams in those games or other sites chosen by that programs for logistical purposes. Those extra games are expected to general roughly $450 million in revenue from ESPN for the CFP and its members"
  7. Don't let your new association with Merrillville and @Piratefan101 diminish your ability to think. Sure, 5A as a whole wasn't very appealing to the eyes; however, Valpo, Whiteland, Snider and North Side were VERY good football teams.
  8. It’s pretty wild that USC and TCU can and will be punished for losing a bonus game when Ohio State played air. I’m sure we’ll see some wild stuff when the field goes to 8. Especially with seeding.
  9. Agreed on Jones. Yeah, @Coach Nowlin, can you unpack your comment regarding Brohm? Also, I've mentally prepared myself for a massacre on Saturday. Oh well. I'll still enjoy watching Purdue on the big stage.
  10. Yes...the alter ego has returned! Be honest, you just wanted to tell us Clacks (with multiple P5 Offers) is transferring to Merrillville. It's going to be great watching Marshall own that program.
  11. On offense, the QB and RB both return. I believe they started 2 SO and 2 JR on the OL. Stokes returns at WR. Majority of D returns. They were ahead of schedule.
  12. It was perfect timing as well that he was mentioned by the broadcast literaly seconds from Michigan blowing the game open. Michigan definately has the edge now. Wow, that was a statement by Harbough and company. I would be very surprised if they came out flat against Purdue.
  13. I was going to ask @temptation if he was nervous about this stretch run (Ohio State/CFP) with JJ not being a proven passer. Well, not sure if yesterday was just a fluke, but he passed that test with ease. Also, can't believe I'm saying it, but is Fitz on the hot seat going into next year?
  14. Valpo/Whiteland was the only game I wanted in entirety. I thougth the officiating was phenomenal. There were a lot of important calls in that game and instant replay showed the officials were correct every single time. One of the biggest was the placement of the Whiteland punt that could have pinned Valpo inside the 1 yard line as opposed to where they started on the 20.
  15. Ha! I saw @Piratefan101at the Fishers Target tonight. He was stocking up on tissue paper and bourbon and ice cream. But, he insisted he didn’t watch the Valpo game. Just nonchalantly shrugged it off and said he didn’t have time to watch 5A football. I think the irony was lost on him. Claimed to be in town scouting 7th graders since the Hammond/Gary recruiting pipeline is too hot.
  16. Man, it’s been since 1993 when I was in the stands at the RCA Dome to watch Hobart beat East Central that I’ve seen a Duneland team win a football Title. Fealt good to finally see it again. Dare I say there are a lot of similarities between Marshall and Hobart legend Don Howell? Feels like Marshall is playing “Howell” ball with modern day formations. Smart, disciplined, and physical football that’ll be won on the lines. And running counters and off tackle non stop. Just wild to see for me. Whiteland brought an all out onslaught early on and Valpo didn't flinch. Just went to work methodically and took the lead back. How about Whiteland? The fought and battled in similar fashion. Two tough teams battling to the final plays. Love seeing it. Valpo returns about 19 starters. They were clearly a better team with #9 healthy.
  17. Here’s new data for @Piratefan101: Most Football State Titles In NWI: Hobart: 4 Andrean: 3 Valpo: 2 There are multiple teams with 1. In fact, out of those teams, Merrillville is the last one in terms of being most recent.
  18. It’s a good thing Carroll’s WR let everyone know he had a 1st down reception while trailing 21-3. From the looks of it he won’t get many more. Carroll’s OL is just getting abused. They have got to scheme a way to protect their QB at the half and give him some time to throw. Otherwise, like you said, it’s going to get even uglier very quickly.
  19. The trash talking after that hit and then the Carroll WR signaling for a first down while trailing 21-3 drives me absolutely crazy.
  20. Yep. It’s clear MD made the adjustments needed for this year.
  21. I only had time to watc the 1st half. I’m assuming the 2nd half was about the same. I think the elder Statesmen coaching MD schooled the young Andrean HC. Andrean didn’t look prepared and MD looked prepared for anything Andrean tried doing offensively.
  22. LOL...so true. But he'll pat himself on the back everytime he can mention Crown Point couldn't handle speed.
  23. That sounds like a lot of cheatin' and transferin' for what? King of the 5A North? No. King of the Duneland? No. King of Lake County? No. Sounds like a waste of resources and time.
  24. Whatever it is, can he be trusted? His opinion of Valpo, you know a DAC rival from about 10 miles east of Merrillville, was so blatantly wrong on so many occasions this season I'm not sure how he can possibly try to predict anything from a state level in 5A. At some point you just got a call a spade a spade and move on.
  25. Agree with pretty much everything. I think UGA is a lock with a W against Ga Tech. No way LSU could beat them bad enough in Atlanta to knock Georgia out. If LSU wins it's likely by less than 5.
