  1. Yep. Players have to know they can't celebrate and need to be ready for the 2pt conversion. They also wasted a TO when the Colts were on the goalline. Not sure what the point was on that one. I listed to Briggs and Brown last night and they were roasting Waldron for that goal line sequence. Similiar to you, they said Roschon has to be in considering he was moving the pile all game when he had the ball. They laughed about the speed option out of the pistol as being way to easy to defend. To make matters worse on that play, someone mentioned in the post game presser that the Colts D didn't even give them the look they preppred for when running the speed option in practice. That concerns me. Did Caleb not check off or do the coaches not give him a chance to check off? I'm sure Flus will be asked about that today on one of his Chicago radio stints. At least we saw some progress from CW. He can find the open WR when he has time to throw. Needs to continue figuring out how fast windows close though. Odunze was briefly open on the INT that bounded off his hands/chest into the Colts DB hands. The Colts safety closed that window quickly. Probably something a rookie QB isn't used to seeing. What really frustrates me is the strip sack fumble late in the 4th. Odunze was wide open for a big gain at a minimum and that's who CW was targeting just before getting hit. This OL is just the gift that keeps on giving. Seemed kind of odd to kickoff and not attempt an onside kick with 2:01 left. Of course, the Colts handed the Bears a TO by not returning the kick.
  2. I've read his buyout is a little over $12M, which isn't much of a financial contstraint. I agree 100% with your last sentence. Personally, I can't picture Purdue's AD being willing to publically admit he made a bad hire and needs to cut ties before it sets the program further back. Maybe after year 3 I could see it, but after year 2 seems too agressive for a program like Purdue. I would have more respect for the AD in this situation to pull the plug after year 2.
  3. IMO, that's tacky on the Colts. They're playing in a taxpayer funded stadium with a sweetherad deal on rent/revenue. You can't criticize the season ticket holders for taking advantage of a good resale market. I was in LOS yesterday. There were A LOT of Bears fans in attendance. Seemed like somewhere around 40-50% Bears fans.
  4. Why did Walters bring Harrell back as OC? Walters needs to be fired after the season assuming there is no turnaround happening this year. He's reaching Hazell levels of incompetence. Bad investement.
  5. Haha. Pac 12 must be pretty weak this year for their 2nd place team to only be a 5.5 point favorite at home over a Big Ten cellar dwellar.
  6. Good question. Unless I missed something, I don't recall there every being issues with his character at Bowling Green or Utah.
  7. I'm sure a lot of the Subway alums who truly only care about ND winning at an Elite level and not the actual reputation of the school would be in favor of Urban going to South Bend. Do you strongly feel those actually inside the picture (Alumni such as yourself, Boosters, ND leadership, etc.) wouldn't touch Urban with a 10 foot pool?
  8. Is Steele now the feature back in KC with Pacheco suffering a broken fibula? This kids story is unbelievable.
  9. Lower. Goes from 6 to 4 with 51% percent of snaps played.
  10. Copy. The Steelers pick is now trending to be a 4th rounder with the amount of PT Fields is getting. I doubt Tomlin is going to bench him for Wilson at this point unless Fields completely unravels.
  11. @temptationWhere do you have Evansville Memorial? The Tigers have an offense that is operating on all cylinders. Enjoyable to watch.
  12. I watched the Valpo / Andrean game and came away thinking Valpo is not as good as they have been the past couple of years. Still good. But not winning 5A good. I am intrigued by Concord. All I know is they have a speedster at RB.
  13. I was at Zionsville/ FC on Friday night. The Eagles played with their backup QB and still had no issues offensively against FC. ZIonsville's RB had 100+ rushing yards and Eugue Hilton tore their secondary apart for 3 TD's and over 100 yards receiving. I haven't seen Avon yet, but it feels like FC was the worst team Zionsville's played this year. Gut feeling is same as you and FC wins a close won. Noblesville shouldn't have an issue running the ball on Zionsville. Their defensive front 7 isn't the greatest at stopping the run. Get enough points, burn enough clock running the ball and Hilton won't be able to do too much damage to the Noblesville defense. I'll take the Millers 24-21. I was shocked the Royals lost to Fishers. I'll take them to rebound against the 'Rocks 27-21. Gut feeling is Fishers beating HSE was a rivalry created fluke. I'll take the 'Dogs by double digits.
  14. I remember reading about the GM not wanting to take Young and was forced into it by Tepper. But, I completely forgot he's the entitled jackass who was fined 300K for pouring beer on a Jax fan from his Suite. How can the Panthers 2nd round pick turn into a #1 overall? I don't recall that being a possibility.
  15. The worst part is the fired GM was forced by said owner to draft Young.
  16. Just heard CW was under pressure on 36 of 37 passing attempts. Unreal.
  17. Do you think he's raddled by the OL's inability to protect him? Granted it was the Pre-Season, but his accuracy on downfield passes was much sharper. I will NEVER say the Bears should have kept Fields and traded away #1 for the haul. I was in favor of resetting the pay scale on the QB position over keeping someone who still can't throw 200 yards/game in a new offense. But, maybe taking Rome at 9 wasn't the wisest of choices when the OL needed immediate help.
  18. My oldest is a Freshman at IU this year. I much rather enjoy a Fall day with her in scenic Bloomington this year than take in the clown show at Purdue. Offense looked very good in Pasadena tonight. Really intriged by the new hire.
  19. Fair points, but I'm still testing the IOL market before drafting a Punter in the 4th. We'll have to agree to disagree. Agreed. OT isn't a worry on either side. The IOL is a major liability. Maybe it was just a bad matchup against Tennessee's DL, but it's hard for CW to play when the IOL immediately colappses on him. I'm hoping see improved OL play tomorrow night and if the offense put points on the board. I'm sick of watching crappy offense.
  20. 2 weeks to prepare and that’s how you play in the 1st half? Feels like Walter’s is in over his head. This is why I don’t like the idea of Purdue going after a hot OC/DC who is unproven as a HC. Prefer a veteran who has proven he can scheme to success with inferior talent.
  21. Franklin Central seems suburban to me as well. The entire district is either rural cornfields or blue collar/white collar neighborhoods that resemble Hamilton County. Enrollment is top 10. They should have probably never left Conference Indiana.
  22. The Bears could barely attempt a vertical passing game on Sunday because of the OL. The Aussie didn't do anything punting that a FA couldn't do. I know he's a stud, but I would have much rather had help at OL in the 4th.
  23. Shelton was one of the worst graded OL in the NFL for Week 1. I'm sure the Texans are going to see the way he was abused on tape. Darnell Wright graded out really high. So did Nate Davis, which was a surprise. Maybe because he only played 18 snaps. I love King Poles, but 2 things he did in the offseason irritate me: He had suitors for Velus Jones and refused to trade him for anything less than a 4th. Drafted a Punter in the 4th Round. That could have been immediate OL help. How about the pick 6 Levis threw in the 4th? Talk about a gimme TD. That guy will be holding a clipboard for his career if he keeps making those mistakes. It wasn't even the 1st time in the game that he attempted to be bailed out of a sack with a reckless throw.
  24. What's the benefit? HCC too strong for a program like Franklin Central?
  25. Avon @ Brownsburg: Is it possible the 'Dog's would generous to win by 24? Brownsburg could probably take this one by 30+ if they wanted to. Fishers @ HSE: The Mudsock game is awesome. Brings out a HUGE crowd and it's went to OT the past 2 seasons. I have a feeling Fishers keeps it close and HSE breaks the game open in the 2nd half for a 10-14 point W. Franklin Central @ Zionsville: I don't see very much of FC football. West's record prior to joining FC speaks for itself. Is it possible it seems like a failure because FC doesn't have enough athletes/depth to compete in the HCC? I was expecting more from them by Year 4 in the West era. I'll likely be at this one Friday night. I'll take Zionsville by about 6 as well. Any W's the Eagles get in HCC play this year won't come easy. Westfield @ Noblesville: The Millers should be very salty after the way they choked away the Fishers game last week. Unfortunately, I thnk Westfield is a very bad match up for them. I can see Westfield's defense completely bottling up the Power T. The Millers have a Bowling Green recruit at TE who is an athletic multi-sport athlete, a Boston College DE recruit splitting time at RB and a lot of young RB's with good size. Yet, Sharpe still doesn't try working in the passing game to compliment the Power T run game. Good luck with that plan against Westfield. 'Rocks by 17.
