  1. That was unheard of with Wright and Tutsie. Something is broken and the guy the top of the chain hasn't figured it out.
  2. Well, if the talent is still there, then it's up to Kirshner and Co. to develop them.
  3. is the Will Patterson buzz on East 56th Street luring kids North out of Warren and from IPS who would go to Warren in the past?
  4. I don't know BTF. That was one of the worst Homestead teams I've seen in years. I was on the Homestead bandwagon a few years ago. This team just looks.........inexperienced. There's still some meat on the bones in terms of talent.
  5. Ha! Well played. I have some thoughts on your Top 25 and opinions I'll share later. Watching Man U get embarrassed. They're like the Dallas Cowboys of English PL. I was very surprised you still at Center Grove at 2. Perhaps I keep falling victim to recency bias as I severely over estimated Pike's abilities after week 1. Yikes, I was at Lebanon last night. It was an ugly first half for Zionsvile. They gotta get there crap together or Westfield is going to curbstop them.
  6. 42-0 with a running clock that started in the 3rd quarter. Homestead literally couldn’t do anything. Couldn’t stop the Power T. Couldn’t stop the trap. Couldn’t build a rhythm on offense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse performance out of the Spartans. Noblesville is interesting. Pretty big and aggressive on D. A lot of 3rd year players. Offense is running the Power T to perfection and they have a TE with 4 Mac and an IU offer. He made some very nice plays tonight in the passing game. The HCC is deep this year.
  7. Does CG just have a tree that grows freakishly athletic DL? Geez.
  8. 1. Cathedral 2. Noblesville 3. Franklin Central 4. Plainfield 5. Lowell 6. Evansville Mater Dei 7. Mishawaka Marian 8. Connersville 9. Charlestown 10. South Putnam 11. North Decatur
  9. Nailed it. And most GM's seem like they rather buy the $50K Ford and spend money elsewhere. Honestly, sometimes they get just as much producton out of the $25K used Pinto than the $100K Mercedes. I would be interest in seeing the Top 20 RB's by overall statistical category from last year and their comps as well as where they are in percentile of total NFL players.
  10. Yep. Pass to score. Run to win.
  11. Avon @ Ben Davis: Agree completely on all accounts Fishers @ Pike: I was at the Zionsville/Pike game and actually thought Pike was the better team that night. They just couldn't close the door and Zionsville never stopped fighting. Pike has a mobile QB who can cause damage when he gets out of the pocket. His arm isn't the greatest but he has a few WR's that can beat DB's for a ball. PIke was on the verge of taking a 28-17 lead midway through the 4th quarter when a long TD pass was called backed due to a blatantly obvious OL downfield when their QB scrambled around the pocket. I'll take Fishers by 10. HSE @ NC: Agreed. Going to be ugly Homestead @ Nobleville: I didn't watch the Homestead/Carmel game. I did watch a majority of the Noblesville/Mt. Vernon game up until Noblesville took a monumental lead in the 2nd half. It looks like Mt. Vernon scored a bunch of garbage time points. My one gripe with the Millers the past 2 seasons is their refusal to throw the ball. The kid they had at QB last Friday can definately throw it. And the Millers have an athletic 6'3 TE/WR as well as Aiden Brewer who caught a long TD pass against Mt. Vernon. Brewer is also a TE/WR. The 6'2 JR already has offers from Toledo, Ball State, Indiana, Western Michigan and another school. Noblesville did abodon the Power T for some spread formations a few time. I say all of that to say I hope they will finally incorporate the passing game into their offense. They have a QB who can throw and at least 2 capable receivers. One game at a time, but interested in seeing how Noblesville works the passing game into their offense. I'll take the Millers by 6. Cathedral @ Brownsburg: Easily the game of the week in the State. You nailed it on the head that Brownsburg seems to win the early season big games. I haven't seen either team play this year. I'll go with O'Neill and the Irish to win a close one by 3. Roncalli @ Franklin Central: The Jayson West era in Franklin Township has started out at 8-13 with no defining wins. This is the perfect opportunity to get a statement win against a neighborhood rival. I'll buy what you're selling and agree on a 3 point Flashes W. Westfield @ Lawrence Central: The Will Patterson experience is 10-23 through 3 years and 1 game. Similiar to West, Patterson appears to have LC heading in the right direction. I like their chances of competing with Ben Davis for the top spot in the MIC this year. But, I'm also thouroughly impressed by Westfields MOV over New Pal. Perhaps the talent has decreased in New Pal to the point they can no longer hang with 6A teams. That remains to be seen. I'll take Westfield by 13. Zionsville @ Lebanon: This is a nice little rivalry game that will continue to develop as Whitestown booms and about one quarter of the town is in Zionsville's school district with the remaining portions going to Lebanon. Just looking at scores I'm expecting it to be a massive blowout considered Lebanon was blanked by Pendleton Heights. Zionsville definately has some weaknesses that need tightened up before HCC play starts. Their offense was very sluggish last week as the QB play was shaky and they couldn't get Eugene Hilton involved in the passing game. Hilton opened the game up with a 90 yard kickoff return for a TD and he didn't see the ball again until late in the 4th with a long reception that put Zionsville in position for the go ahead TD. The Zionsville D Line is very big and agile. They have decent depth and were rotating guys in and out. The LB'ers struggled though whenever Pike got past the line of scrimmage. Much of this has nothing to do with the game against Lebanon. Just rambling on about my observations from last Friday nigh. I'll take Zionsville by 28.
  12. Thank you! I wasn't aware of any of this. Agree. Comically bad decision. Granted we're dealing with the ego's of proffesional athletes; however, at some point guys like Taylor need to realize the how the market views RB and stop thinking you're going to dicate the value.
  13. I don't follow the Colts outside of occasionally watching their gams. What's the deal with Taylor? Is he the latest RB to fall victim to ignoring the reality that RB's aren't as valuable as they once were or are the Colts legitimately screwing him?
  14. Hamilton Southeastern Lawrence North Warsaw Westfield Hobart Kokomo Evansville Memorial Tri West Indianapolis Scecina Perry Central Tecumseh
  15. Chicago Tribune, much like the Chicago Sun Times, are a mouthpiece for ND.
  16. Did Patrick Clacks suit up for Crown Point in their scrimmage? So far I haven’t seen anything officially reported in the NWI media. I know rumors are a slippery slope in here, so I’ll stick to the facts at hand on whether or not he suited up for Crown Point.
  17. It's wild that this guy was a 2 star recruit out of Center Grove with no (according to 247) D1 offers. Was that simply because of the obvious? I remember him being a beast at Center Grove and not much changed at Ball State. Even wilder is after this season he'll have a chance to punish Big Ten teams that didn't give him a chance on a weekly basis.
  18. You almost have to admire the fact they don't hide from it. Look at Auburn who hired Bruce Pearl and Hugh Freeze. There was once a time when Pearl couldn't even land a D1 job due to his actions as a lead recruiter at Iowa and he violated rules as soon as he returned to the big time at Tennessee. Hugh Freeze...enough said.
  19. Touche. That I did not know. Still, it's easy to say no to joining the other Conferences and "selling your soul" for more money when you have your own TV deal for football. Their refusal to "go with the flow and follow the money" will really be tested soon, IMO.
  20. IOnly one sport is not in a Conference and they just happen to have their own network deal. But, their program is more than just a money making machine? I’ll believe that line when they drop football all together or down a Division instead of being forced into a Conference.
  21. Correct. AAU is huge for the Big Ten. I noticed a lot of ACC schools on that list.
  22. At some point they’ll be forced into joining. The Big Ten and SEC will be calling the shots soon. I believe the new playoff format is only locked in for 2 years.
  23. Agreed. Conferences used to be tied to an area that shares a lot of the same culture and identites. Now, it's a just a smorgasbord of geographic areas tied together in unison to maximize Revenue. Which is basically Football and Basketball telling the little sports that they follow their lead. And it's only going to get worse. Florida State is strutting itself in public and begging the Big Ten or SEC to bring them in. I could see the SEC paying the fees for Florida State to break their GOR with the ACC. The seemingly obvious next move for the Big Ten is to secure the Northern Bay are with Cal and Stanford, which is a complete bore for spectators. I would prefer to see the Big Ten think outside the box in try luring white whales like Notre Dame and North Carolina. Acadamically, athletically and name brand wise those would be amazing additions to the BIg Ten.s
  24. I was hoping for Arizona as well. I would have been fine with just Arizona and Oregon. Washington doesn't move the needle for me. They only seem invested in football and they can never sustain success. Similiar to Maryland, I would consider them an underachiever in basketball. Granted they don't have the crazy amount of HS talent that surrounds College Park; however, the Seattle area has been pumping out quality HS basketball recruits for a while and Washington has never been able to capitalize on it. At this point I'm hoping for Oregon or nothing. I rather take San Diego State and than Stanford or Cal. I rather take Ball State and Western Michigan than Stanford and Cal. No thanks to Stanford and Cal. Yeah, in the eyes of the NCAA, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc. have ZERO National Titles in Football. They're all technically mythical.
  25. Agreed regarding the offical announcements. My opinion is whether or not he's at practice isn't a rumor. It's just a fact. Mods can delete if they disagree, it's their show.
