  1. Did you see the custom draft room he built with the word "Legendary" written all over the place? Yikes.
  2. Haha. I'm not on Facebook and don't follow Parkhurst. Is he now claiming that Grant going in the 1st Round is more important than winning a State Title? That dude doesn't disappoint with his takes. Merrillville is an astounding 0-10 in Semi State matchups as the Semi-State round didn't exist when the Pirates won state in the '70's. I agree with many on here that at some point I think they'll break through if Seiss stays and Cathedral isn't in 5A.
  3. From what I read Pittsburgh wouldn't guarantee beyond 1 year. Can't really blame the guy for taking the extra guaranteed cash, but he may have been better off betting on himself in Pittsburgh.
  4. I keep hearing that the Bears building their OL in the offseason may mean that go after Jeanty in 1st Roung. Ugh. I hope not. Keep building the trenches on both sides!
  5. I can't get behind the paywall. Did the Indiana legistlature try once again to offer a deal to get them to build in Hammond or Gary? I can't figure out what Warren is doing. He's obsessed with talking about loving to see cranes in the Chicago skyline and he wants the new stadium in the city on the lakefront. But, i did hear one interview where he was admitting Arlington Heights is a viable spot. Maybe he's just politicking to get the best tax rates in Arlington Heights? Maybe the McCaskey's can get enough loans to self finance if the state doesn't chip in, maybe Warren is truly obsessed with getting a stadium built in the city. Who knows at this point....
  6. That's a step in the right direction!
  7. Yeah. Definately an interesting argument. I was listening tomore of it today and he mentioned a lot of the NFL franchises don't really talk to each other. They're mostly private and keep everything in house. Interviewing a lot of candidates is a greaty way to collect data from the otherside. And obviously vet people. I absolutely love that he says Kevin has been instrumental in providing George with guidance and teaching him how an NFL team should look. Smith says he knows what the inside looks like for all 32 teams and he thinks Chicago has finally figured it out. Winning the public perception in the offseason doesn't win games, but it sure is nice to see some very positive news coming out of Halas Hall lately.
  8. Yes. Very good and informative. Great questions. I liked that Smith explained why the early interviews were conducted via Zoom as the NFL attemps to slow down the process to give coaches still alive in the playoffs a "fair" chance. His comments regarding the Raiders were good too. He said Vegas never had a chance even though Brady had a really good pitch, but he didn't shut down the rumors because he thought it was good for Ben in case they couldn't get a deal done with Chicgao.
  9. Who is this Zimmerman guy? Never heard of him. I like his questions so far. I'm only 4 minutes in but already heard something similiar to what Johnson said. Smith says that the Bears went deep and vetted Johnson down to his North Carolina and BC days. I'm sure Poles has lots of connections at BC. Anyways, I believe Poles and Johnson were both asked in the presser if they were surprised at how quickly Johnson became HC after the 1st interview. I know Johnson said that he just needed to sit down at this desk and evalaute the data that had been given to him to make a decision based on what his gut was already telling him. He probably had soo many people vetting the Bears that he just needed to read a brief report to give him the answers he needed. Because he even mentioned how helpful the hiring committe was and how he was happy to hear George/Kevin had aligment with it just being Poles and Johnson running the show. No micromanaging by Warren.
  10. I'm assuming you of all people would know the answer to this. I don't feel like going on a google hunt right now. Do the Pacers and Colts receive revenue sharing from other events at Gainbridge and Lucas Oil? I believe I was once read the Pacers weren't even paying Rent at one point.
  11. No idea whether nor not Bernsteain has kids, but if so should the world be reminded that their father had to publically apologize for his misogynistic comments? What a completely uncecessary comment by Bernstein.
  12. Bringing the South Sider back to Chicago. He and Tai Streets played together on a very good Thornton Township team in Harvey.
  13. That place looks awesome. I'll have to check it out this summer.
  14. His interview with Carmen and Jurko was pretty good. Jurko brought up the fact the Bears went very light in Camp and thought that was a bad idea by Flus. Johnson believes in going live in Camp so the guys are ready to be hit. He firmly believed Detroit had good offensive YAC because of allowing physicality in their practices. Of course, being an analytics guy he said they would rely on sports science data to determine when to go live in Camp. You can tell he's an extremely intelligent guy. I believe he majored in mathematics at UNC. His brother is an MIT grad.
  15. Johnson is calling the plays. I'm not sure how good of an OC you can get if the HC is calling plays. Seems like it would be a good roll for a younger guy who wants to be mentored by Johnson. Or someone like Nagy in Kansas City who may never get another HC job.
  16. My dad grew up in Logan Square. I can still remember riding my bike around the neighborhood as a kid when visiting my grandparents. I think it's gentrified into a hipster neighborhood. Somewhere around 31st Street is the area of the old Michael Reese Hospital and that has turned into a potential landing spot for a "lakefront" stadium since the South Lot is looking like a no go. IDK. I listened to Kevin Warren on ESPN Chicago yesterday and they really pressed him about Arlington Heights. He definately made it clear Arlington Heights is still in play. Like you said Makes so much sense. Own your own stadium and build an entertainment district around it. Plus, good commuter access with a Metra Line that runs through the property and a highway to the west. I've only been to 1 Bears game at Soldier Field and was fortunate enough to have a parking pass in the underground Museum Campus lot which had an elevator that went up to our Suite level. I've heard horror stories of how hard it is to walk to Soldier if you're not a lot right next to the stadium. I hear walking over from the South Loop is also hurrendous due to having to navigate to one of the bridgest that crosses over the CTA lines.
  17. Sounds like Fraley has decent shot at OC in Seattle. I've never been to the 31st Street Lot. Is that a hike to walk to the stadium from? I think that's the area Warren is now eyeing to build a stadium IF they don't build in Arlington Heights. Supposedly, the chances of them getting taxpayer funds for a stadium are more likely if they build in the area of 31st Street.
  18. I'm hearing Johnson will be around the 7th highest paid coach in the league. Not sure about accuracy. Regardless, the McCaskey's have never opened up the pocket book like this before. I finally listed to the presser. I really liked his comment about the playbook. He said he won't be dropping Detroit's playbook on the table and saying let's go. He said he'll be stripping the playbook down to the studs and rebuilding it around what works for CW. One of Waldron's biggest flaws was not developing a playbook around CW and forcing CW to embrace Waldron's playbook, which a lot of people said was too complicated for a rookie QB.
  19. Gotta give George credit as well for be willing to pay the bag while still paying Flus. Johnson is getting paid. And credit to Poles for moving quickly. I believe they conducted a zoom call on Saturday morning and then locked in a contract on Monday before Johnson even visited Halas Hall.
  20. He's a headcase and was way before Burfict crushed him in Cincinnati. A stud HS WR out of Florida doesn't end up at Central Michigan for no reason.
  21. Agree 1000% on cutting Edmonds. He is not worth the money! Sounds crazy , but I wouldn't mind seeing what they could get in return for Jaylon Johnson. He got his way by getting Flus fired and basically quit at the end of the year. I can't respect that.
  22. Speaking of AM Radio, I was listening to Waddle and Silvy from yesterday and they had on a beat guy from Detroit. I thought he provided some good info. Said that he thinks Johnson is perfect for Chicago. He's an analytics guy, but not in the geeky mold like McDaniel. He said Johnson is very intense and will rip into players to hold them accountable. He also said Johnson is very demanding of the players to play within his structure.
  23. Roschon could be a good comp even though Jeanty is a little shorter. Both physical type of backs. Agreed, nothing like the lightning quick speed of Gibbs.
  24. Very girly Luis Vitton jacket. He should be wearing Carhartt.
  25. 5-12 (as New Gipper keeps throwing out) is a 42% winning percentage, which is on par with Kingsbury win % as HC of Arizona. BUT, becuase he had ONE good year at Washington as an OC Bears fans are delusional if they don't want him as their HC? It's illogical.
