Seems like that would lead to less portal movement and unionized players.

I have not data to back any of this up, just gut reaction on my part, but it seems like the balancing of the schedules is playing too large of role. The Conferences are so big and I see some teams in the Top 15 that have benefitted to date from light conference schedules (IU, Penn State, Texas A&M, SMU, Miami, Ohio State) and others who have not (Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee). Maybe the SOS say otherwise, but looking at schdules it seems some of have had easier Conference slates.

Seems about accurate. I think Szymborski and Soley go both ways as TE/LB along with Gibbs. I'm not sure what to make of Ellison. Great RB running behind a Great OL. Great vision and patience. Maybe he doesn't have enough speed or size for D1?
-
That's it? I would have guessed about 5,000 on the homeside and I drive by it nearly 10 times per week on 31. Will Westfield bring in portable bleachers? Crown Point will likly have an overflow crowd based on the size of Westfield's visitor section. I could imagine Westfield may as well.

YEP! Not sure if you noticed but Harbaugh didn't settle for San Diego's game winning FG position last night and Dobbins ended up taking a handoff to the house for a TD. Ironically, Harbaugh also called a TO before Cincinnati attempted their hail mary attempt.
-
And why settle for a 45 yarder when you have enough time and TO's to get another run or two in? I like the outcome. Offense looked better with CW and Flus gets another L.
-
He is very patient and great at waiting for his OL to clear a path. Does CP have a kicking issue? I was surprised they didn't go for the FG to go up 41-13 when they threw the ball on the last 4th down before the 2nd string D came in.

Brutal. Just brutal. CW put 'em in position to win and THAT happens!?! I'm sad with Nowlin.
-
Very good point.

Brisker finally moved to the IR. I hope this is more of a case of protecting him and taking caution when the playoffs appear to be out of reach. We could be looking at a forced retirement if it's truly that serious.

Yep. Do you see any legal routes for NIL being regulated in someway?

I would think Kelly is sorta on the hot seat as well, but I heard an LSU insider say a month or so ago they would struggle coming up with cash for his buyout. IDK. Seems far fetched for a program like LSU to have to worry about cash buyout a coach. Still though, it's like a $60M buyout. That is pretty high. Is it just assumed at this point he's down to LSU and Michigan and nobody else has a shot but Michigan IF he does flip?
-
Didn't you say that you didn't think Michigan would ever enter a bidding war with the SEC or Ohio State? I get that he's right down the road from Ann Arbor, but IMO, their current staff doesn't have the sack to try outrecruiting Brian Kelly for a QB who likely cares more about NFL development than playing in Red Stick or the Big House. Obviously Michigan should put up a fight to recruit him, but entering a public bidding war for someone you're probably a longshot to land seems foolish to me.

I would probably take Westfield given homefield advantage and it's not going to be easy to knock them out 2 years in a row. It may benefit Crown Point to play on Saturday in attempt to get as many 'Dog fans down 65 as possible. Westfield has a very large homeside.

National Top 100

How exactly did a small rural school in Southern Kentucky become so good? I imagine it's not common for Kentucky's best team(s) to be outside of Louisville or Lexington. -

Ha! I'm sure Trinity or DuPont Manual would love to get a shot at them in the 6A Playoffs. Unfortunately, Boyle is a rural school is Southern Kentucky who plays 4A. -

It's all subjective, but the above argument is free from criticism that those 3 are definitive W's agianst LN: St. Edward has 5 losses and Boyle County hasn't played any of the Louisville teams. East St. Louis' best win was Loyola Academy, who ended up losing 2 weeks later to Wheaton St. Fancis. St. Fancis is not a Tier 1 Chicago Catholic League team. Loyola is still an 8A contender, but the elite Rambler teams don't lose to Wheaton St. Francins. East St. Louis plays in a very bad conference. The 2nd best team in their conference, who ESL only beat by 7, lost to Lawrence Central. IMG scored 3 points in a blowout loss to the Baltimore team that Center Grove played. Is IMG truly elite this year? ESL also dodges a lot of the top Chicago schools by playing in the 6A Tourney. Lincoln Way East is solid and could very well win the 8A Title. They have a lot of talent and a Junior at QB who is already commited to Oregon. But, they didn't play any Chicago Catholic powers in OOC and their Conference schedule is pretty weak. Homewood-Flossmoor is the only team in their conference that is similiar in demographics to LN and the Vikings have taken a major step back since Buzea left for Crown Point. Their best win is the 28-7 W over Nap Central and the Red Hawks have more in common with Westfield than an MIC school. -
No. Not at all. They like to run out of jumbo sets and then throw the ball in play action. QB is going to MIami (OH). 2 best receiver's are a 6'4 TE going to Indiana State and a 6'3 TE who is only a Jr. and already has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana and a few MAC per 247. He's possibly their best player. Very good at LB as well.

Moore took some unintentional shots at McKinney in the offseason and now McKinney is returning the favor:
-
Another point to add is DJ Moore made it known he liked Justin. He choose to sign the exension after the Bears traded Fields. He needs to move on if that's truly an issue for him. It's also clear to those who go to games and have roles on Chicago radio that Moore gives up on plays that aren't going to him.

3a Tourney Predictions

I would think if you can lose to Fort Wayne South you can lose to anyone remaining in 3A. Including an undefeated Maconaquah squad that has to be feeling very confidant after winning the 1st Sectional Title in school history. I'll never count out FW Luers from winning a Title considering the comp they typically face in the playoffs is a step below the best they see from the SAC. But, as others have mentioned in this thread, this doesn't feel like a vintage Luers team that should strike fear in their opponents. -

You think that happens in a new look HCC that is missing some of the current members? That's the only way I could see it happening. I can't see them teaming up with the Marion County Township schools again unless it was only for Football and Basketball. -
