This class being QB heavy in the Top 5 worked out well for the Bears. I would hope they take Ault if he's still there at 9, but that's highly unlikely. Still, could be left choosing between Odunze or Verse.

Agreed. Everything I heard is the Bears were sold on him from a physical standpoint a long time ago. They've spent most of their time vetting who he is as a person.

Who knows as one angy Chicago radio caller just said, Caleb could be the Black Baker Mayfield. My fear on this miss doesn't come from Daniels or Maye. Between those 2, I would take Maye. I have faith in Poles and Warren. For any knock we can find in Williams we can also find issues with Daniels, Penix, Maye, etc. None of these guys are perfect. I can remember a time when people thought the Colts should take Leaf because Peyton could never beat Florida and lead Tennessee to a National Title.

Before Warren, the President of the Bears was Ted Phillips. From a football standpoint, you and I had the same qualifications for the job as he did. 24 years and 6 playoff berths later the Bears realized that promoting the CFO who had no football knowledge and was a career Accountant to President of football operatiosn wasn't the wisest of decisions.

The combo of Ryan Poles as GM and Kevin Warren as President of the Bears have drafted the same amount of QB's for the Bears as you and I have: ZERO. Poles was promoted within the Kansas City Chief's organization everytime a new GM was brought in. Warren built the Vikings new stadium before running the Big Ten. I have faith in both of them that they are nothing like the old regime (aka. CPA Ted Phillips and whichever McCaskey son you want to name)

The Chicago radio station I listed to while working was joking yesterday about the amount of rumors surrounding him that continue to be untrue. He has the miracle story walk on turned starter at Purdue or Gardner Minshew. Regardless of who wins that job, bot have proven they can sling the ball around the field. We'll see how they do with Getsy.

I don't understand how Fields has turned into a martyr. 3 years of film exists. And for 3 years experts who view the all 22 will tell you he can't see open WR's, holds the ball too long and is incapable of throwing WR's open. Seems like all of this is swept under the rug because it's the Bears and they're an easy punching bag. Yes, he dealt with injuries in the OL that created inconsistency and he dealt with rotating coaches. You can't give him a free pass on skills you need from your QB just because the infrastructure surrounding the QB is going to get better. Especially when you have a solid QB class in front of you and a chance to restart the clock on the QB payscale.

The Steelers have made it clear that Wilson is the starter and there will not be a QB competition. I have to wonder if that was done to soothe Wilson's ego. I believe the compensation turns into a 4th Round pick if Fields plays 51% of the snaps next year.

I think Coleman Shelton is a pretty solid pickup. He'll fill the biggest weakness from last year (Center) and he played in Shane Waldron's system in LA. That should take some pressure off of Caleb to have a Center in there who completely understands the system from the minute he walks into Halas Hall. Pryor will just be a backup. Bates likely a backup at Center. Currently, we're looking looking at: LT: Braxton Jones LG: Tevin Jenkins C : Coleman Shelton RG: Nate Davis RT: Darnell Wriight Davis actually had a decent year after he got through some emotional distractions. Jenkins has LG locked up. Wright is a future Pro Bowler. My guess is Jones will get replaced via the draft and they might look to replace Davis as well.

I could understand another South Side Catholic other than Mt. Carmel poaching Tri-Town if you told me Chicago St. Rita or Brother Rice or even Joliet Catholic. But, Marian Catholic, they poach Lake Central kids? That's surprising to me. They're not exactly a power in HS football. Though they are closer to Tri-Town than the aforementioned schools. At that point why not just go to Andrean?

Great Question! Thought I do think some of the areas of St. John that are rapidally growing on the south end are in the Hanover Central district. Another question would be are they losing good talent to the following schools: Andrean Chicago Mt. Carmel

I think it'll happen. Town and Ditch are getting developed from 146th all the way up to 32. Spring Mill and Oak Ridge are pretty much "there" and any open land is getting developed. North of 32, there are developments scattered around Ditch, Spring Mill, Grand Park, and up to Chatham Hills Golf Club. NE of the HS there's a lot of developments going in around 191st street over to the Noblesville border. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up capping out around 3,500 in the future.

He could have stopped writing the article after penning "it turns out most NFL teams don't want to trade a day 2 pick for a flawed QB and extend him his fifth year option." Is he expecting Poles to just come out and say that nobody in the market for a QB1 was interested in him so we'll hold him until the market opens backup again?
