  1. You getting a little jealous of the attention Crown Point is getting?
  2. Was Merrillville stacking the box to stop Bowen once the QB went out?
  3. This is too funny. I wasn't sure what you were referring to until I read that thread this morning. The sentence structuring and use of grammar are identical to a Parkhurst post. Unbelievably bizarre. Loved the last line of "Andrean4life" being worried that Cody was going to roast him. The entire schtick is starting to make a lot of sense.
  4. Got ya. I watched CP's first drive and they did look big with some speed at RB. Is Andrean's QB ok? I saw on FB that he left the game in the 2nd quarter with potentially a season ending injury.
  5. I'm not really sure what to make of North. I only watched a majority of the 2nd half. Johnson seems to stand around a lot when he's not the focal point of the offense. The O-Line looked big, but not dominating. The QB made some good passes. Not trying to downplay the Legends, but I was expecting a lot more considering the pre-season hype. I'll take Dwenger by 10 Wayne by 7 Snider by 6 Northrop by 13 Homestead by 26
  6. What did he do to get ejected? On the replay it possibly looked like he was taunting. The Summit City crew calling the game couldn't really tell as well. Also, what is the first name of the Snider RB who took over? I believe his last name was Veazy. It sounded like they were calling him "Al Capone".
  7. Nope. I'm patiently waiting for Crown Point, Carroll, Homestead, or Warsaw to actually threaten the Hamilton County hierarchy in the 6A North. Penn can toil in mediocrity for all I care.
  8. Did you attend the Avon/LN game? Curious to know if Avon's offense started clicking too late or if it was more of a result of LN's D letting up.
  9. Does Merrillville still draw a good home crowd? What stood out about Chesterton and Crown Point? Good Size? Skill talent?
  10. I attended the Lapel/Hamilton Heights game and came away very impressed by the Huskies. Both of their lines were big and I don't believe I saw any two way players. Good size all across the defense with some LB'ers and Safeties who will hit. The QB has a nice arm and they have a 5'10 Sophomore who was making plays. I believe he had 2 long TD receptions as well as a kick return for a TD. Kirschner turned things around last year in Arcadia. The Huskies could be poised to take the East Division this year.
  11. I completely muffed my pick of Andrean over Merrillville. I was not expecting that level of dominance. I get that Andrean and Hobart are long standing historical rivals for The Ville, but it's time for them to get some Indy area teams on the schedule. Waxing Andrean and Hobart isn't helping the Pirates come Tourney time. The big surprises to me where Crown Point, Chesterton, and Michigan City. I was expecting Penn to win and Valpo to take a big step back based on the reported losses they had. Still, a much needed dominating W for Penn. I also expected Warsaw to win, but the MOV was alarming. I tried watching the CP and Chesterton games, but the feed was horrendous and I gave up. I'm assuming both looked really good based on the scores. A dominating win over Andrean would be a promising sign that CP is taking steps in 6A. Chesterton vs. Warsaw is a nice gauge of where the Tigers and Trojans are after they each rolled to easy Week 1 wins. Lake Central's 47-0 win over Munster marks the 3rd straight year that Munster has failed to score against Lake Central. Hard to get excited about that score. Providence Catholic is a good measuring stick to see if Coach Good is making progress in St. John. Not much to say about Portage and LaPorte. Games went about as expected.
  12. Noblesville vs. Benet Academy Noblesville and Mt. Vernon was a carbon copy of last year. Noblesville ran at will and Mt. Vernon moved the ball at will. Noblesville had 389 yards rushing on 64 carries. Mt. Vernon Sr. QB/WR (Eli Bridenthal) had 151 yards rushing, 137 yards passing, and 3 receptions for 69 yards. Mt. Vernon has some serious talent at receivers with the big Purdue recruit, Bridenthal, and Jr. Jay Jones. Their offense is scary good. The Freshmen QB they put in when Bridenthal moves to WR is very good. The Millers offense looked about the same as last year. Only difference is they moved Gage Gulley from QB to RB and 6’3 So. Aiden Brewer is now on the OL at TE. The new QB for the Millers is a 6’1 Freshman. He only attempted 4 passes. Curious to see if they open up the passing game a little more if the run game is stalling. He appeared to have a good arm. Benet Academy used to play in the East Suburban Catholic League which has since merged with the Chicago Catholic League for football. Similar to Noblesville, they’re probably better than their record indicated from last year as they played a very strong schedule. I’ll go with Benet Academy this week for no other reason than Noblesville is going to be making a long hike to the Western Chicago ‘burbs. Benet 28 Noblesville 24 Fishers vs. Pike Complete domination by Fishers last week. Is North Central that bad or Fishers that good. My guess is the truth is likely somewhere in the middle. Looking forward to see how Fishers responds on Friday. Fishers 27 PIke 17 Ben Davis vs. Avon Looks like Avon’s offense awoke in the 2nd half against LN for a lot of passing yards. Ben Davis had the advantage vs Brownsburg in first downs, plays ran, and total yardage, but still came up with the L. I’ll take Ben Davis to rebound against the Orioles. Ben Davis 31 Avon 20 North Central vs. HSE HSE survived a defensive battle on East 56th Street last week. I’m expecting their O to break out this week and for North Central to take another beating. HSE 35 North Central 10 Cathedral vs. Brownsburg I didn’t catch the Brownsburg/Ben Davis game last week. Judging by the boxscore it appears Brownsburg was fortunate to win that game. I’ll take Indiana’s best team to beat the ‘Dogs Cathedral 30 Brownsburg 17 Franklin Central vs. Roncalli Interesting Southside matchup. The Flashes took care of business in week 1 by pummeling Perry Meridian. Likewise, Roncalli had no problems with Southport. Is this the breakout game for the Jayson West era in Franklin Township? I’ll take the Roncalli O-Line in a close one. Roncalli 28 Franklin Central 24 Lawrence Central vs. Westfield I have a feeling LC will be a thorn in the side of everyone they play this year. I picked New Pal to beat Westfield and it looks like they had a comfortable lead the entire game. My assumption is New Pal is that good and Westfield is taking a decent step back this season with the loss of their QB and RB. Still, I can’t imagine the Rocks starting 0-2. Westfield 21 LC 13 Lebanon vs. Zionsville I’m expecting the Tigers to respectively compete for the top spot in the competitive Sagamore Conference, but they’re no match for a HCC school. Eagles roll. Zionsville 41 Lebanon 13
  13. Why? Because in the Hoosier Heritage or 4A playoffs they didn't face a single O-Line that was as big and strong as Noblesville? IMO, IF Mt. Vernon wins tonight it'll be because Noblesville's D didn't step up. I don't see the Millers having any trouble moving the ball.
  14. When does the TV contract end for the current Playoff format? My guess is that's when the break happens. I just hope it doesn't infiltrate the HS ranks. Could you imagine HS football and basketball being turned into a club sport that pays similar to soccer in Europe?
  15. I thought I was good with YouTube TV and now I have to sign up for another streaming service. SMH. Guess I'll be a Peacock subscriber at some point. It was bound to happen anyways with EPL games mainly streaming on Peacock.
  16. Delphi Tipton Lapel Harrison Central Catholic Pioneer Bombers Tri-West Northwestern LaVille
  17. Andrean Brownsburg Chatard Harrison Linton Stockton Center Grove Carroll Evansville Memorial Cathedra East Central
  18. Mt. Vernon couldn't handle Noblesville's O-Line last year and it was a blowout. Some late 2nd half scores by Mt. Vernon kept the score closer than what it was earlier in the 2nd half. I'll take Noblesville by 7-10 this year. In other action I like: Brownsburg Zionsville LN HSE North Central New Palestine Franklin Central
  19. It'll be a historical game in Noblesville as the brand new Beaver Stadium will host it's first Varsity football game.
  20. I haven't seen much out of NWI regarding Friday's scrimmages. Any noteworthy performances?
  21. Dave, what's the change in schedule criteria with the GCL schools? Very interested to hear as I enjoy seeing those schools on Indiana schedules.
  22. Why did 6 guys receive D1 offers and not actually sign with a D1 school? Who are the 8-9 players that will have D1 offers by the time the season ends?
  23. Here's what I'm taking out of this post: Kyle Ralph developed a culture that works Kyle Ralph has complete buy in from the community of New Pal to follow his culture Football is potentially the #1 sport boys want to play at the youth level in New Pal The elite level talent at New Pal is beginning to increase Sounds pretty scary for 4A and potentially 5A football in Indiana. My understanding is Kyle Ralph played OL at Cincinnati St. Xavier and in Chapel Hill with the Tar Heels. And his wife is from New Pal? I completely understand the desire to live in your wife's hometown. But, I would think at some point this guy is going to get a HS or College (Assistant) offer that's too good to turn down.
