Anyone else have a feeling that Ole Miss is going to win by double digits? I don't think IU can keep Kiffin's offense under 28 and IU's offense hasnn't looked great in the post Penix era. The storyline will be that IU didn't belong in the NY6 conversation from those who probably don't even realize they lost a player of Penix's magnitude.

Because SEC fans are lunatics who think their next coach should put them on the Saban/Alabama level. I will give O credit for doing what HC's should do and put together one helluva staff in 2019. He's always toing ot have NFL talent in Baton Rouge. It appears he will always be dependant on the staff he builds around him.

How so? If I'm Mason, who both schools should be targeting, I view LC as the place I'll get better athletes. The guy one quickly at Michigan City. I'm betting it wouldn't take him long to turn LC around. I'm also betting LC wouldn't lose as many players to Andrean and the Illinois Catholics if they were routinely a legiitimate contender in the 6A North and/or have D1 coaches paying attentiont to their roster. I was a little caught off guard by RegionFBFan's comments regarding Marian Catholic. I knew LC kids were going to Chicago Mt. Carmel, but I had no idea they would head west on 30 to Chicago Heights for a school that's not an athletic juggernaut in the East Suburban Catholic.

Yeah, and the icing on the top was boy genius passing game coordinator who went back to the NFL as an OC with Carolina. It was the perfect storm for O. NFL talent/coaching across the board on offense.

Bret Bielema will lead Illinois to BT Championship Game in 3 Years

Chicagoland does produce some quality linemen, problem is they've historically viewed Notre Dame and Michigan as options 1 and 1a. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was out of his element in Fayetteville. But, Wisconsin didn't shed any tears when he decided to leave. The guy isn't the greatest representative for a University: Exhibit A: His drunken antics in Madison. Exhibit B: He alienated all of Texas HS football by telling a coaches clinic they were playing sissy ball. Granted, you'll side with him, but it's probably not a good idea to pi** off HS coaches in a state that borders Arkansas and has enough talent to fill rosters across the Southwest. He's not going to turn Illinois into a power just because Alvarez left him a finely tuned machine. -
Yeah, as a Purdue fan, it pains me to say Bloomington is a pretty cool little town. I drove around their downtown area and campus the last time I was down there, which was a few months ago. They have a lot of good night life choices and the campus is definately scenic. I will say though that downtown Lafayette is getting better. And West Lafayette is making strides in improving the village on State Street between Chauncey and Grant. Anyone notice Sam Jackson decommitted? That is a really, really, bad break for Brohm.

I would say as a Purdue fan I would be happy with 7-9 wins a year with a good Bowl game. 10 wins and above is just gravy. College football is a beast.

I wonder if they'll give Lance Leipold a look. He's from Wisconsin, won big there at Wisconsin-Whitewater, and has turned Buffalo into a solid program. The guy has proven he can win at 2 different levels. Someone will eventually take a chance on him. Illinois is an interesting job. The state is ripe with talent, but the Illini have never owned it. It's tough when the Chicago area views Champaign as rural, supposedly you can smell cows from their stadium that sits on edge of Champaign, and the Chicago media also treats Northwestern/Notre Dame as the local teams. Looking at the class of 2021 the Top 25 players in Illinois are going to: Iowa Minnesota Northwestern Missouri Minnesota Texas Christian lean (Decommitted from Purdue. Brohm can't lose QB recruits!!) Louisville Missouri West Virginia Wisconsin UCLA Michigan Minnesota Syracuse Iowa Notre Dame Notre Dame Rutgers Minnesota Iowa Louisville Indiana Toledo Minnesota Northwestern Bottom line: You can't win at Illinois if you can't even recruit your own state.

Picks For 2021 State Champions

Park Heritage was a random selection. I think the Fighting Eagles of Lake Station rebound from their 0-9 campaign to run the table in 2021! Post game party to be held at Deja Vu. -
Covenent Christian - Time for a Reality Check

No. It wasn't. I was saying it has the same look. Run down, past it's "prime", and in an urban setting. -
Covenent Christian - Time for a Reality Check

LOL. Their football stadium is easily visible from the Toll Road just before entering Chicago. It looks like it seats 50 people and was the practice field used in the movie Wildcats. -
Jayson West leaves Warren Central
Boilernation replied to MICFan34's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
In your humble opinion, with no accusation of having any knowledge his motives, why do you pass on Ralph? Personally, I would have guessed this would be the type of job he would leave New Pal for. Unless, pure speculation, he's waiting for the right opportunity to go home to the Greater Catholic League South. I get your theories on free and reduced lunches (which holds a lot of water), but it's Warren. Yeah, there's SOME rough parts in their district, but it's still a mostly middle class suburban setting with kids committed to football and an enrollment that pretty much guarantees football talent. I couldn't imagine it being that bad to handle. -
I’m thrilled to see the Bricks back in a State Title game, but I think it’s fair to acknowledge they punched the easy ticket while the South bracket had heavyweight battles starting in Sectionals. I know Hobart has big and strong boys like Johnson and Babcock. Are the Brickie lines capable of competing with Roncalli or do you foresee this one getting out of hand similar to MV and Mooresville?

2 nights this week I record a game and stay up late just to go to bed angry. What a freaking crap show. 4 initial grievances: 1. worst offensive PI I’ve ever seen 2. Purdue DBs were basically giving up Hail Mary receptions on key 3rd downs all game. Do they know they’re allowed to turn around and play the ball? 3. 2 missed FG’s, one of which right after a Moore TD catch was reversed. Though that appeared to be a legit call. Speaking of Moore, wow, is he good. Too bad the defense ruined a great offensive performance. 4. I can’t stand Fleck and his Row The Boat crap. I don’t enjoy losing to that Terd. That was the epitome of a Purdue loss.
