  1. Interesting Sagarin ratings. Throw in to Roncalli's 5 top 25 games are Male and Elder.
  2. It will be interesting to see what Roncalli can do through the air. The one thing I thought they have missed in the Regional loss last year and most of this season was the big play through the pass to keep the D honest. Lockard provided that last year at WR and he did not play against Mt Vernon. They have seemed to find something with the TE the last few games.
  3. Technically both games against the IPS schools were away games that they hosts chose to play at Roncallinbecasue of seating capacity.
  4. This matchup has been looming in the distance since the sectional alignments were released. Now it is finally here. I don’t think Roncalli can win a shoot out. They show a remarkable commitment and level of patience for running the ball.
  5. Kiser had 2 previous state finals runs, including a win to build that early case.
  6. It is the two questions that no one can answer: How much ground did he have to make up? Are voters outside of Central Indiana getting enough exposure to him? This could be one disadvange to being in 6A is that he won't play teams outside of central Indiana in the playoffs until maybe the State Finals.
  7. I like to watch those guys. Enough pulling for EC to let you know they care and are excited, but very complimentary toward their opponents. Is the guy who got tossed in the Boonville game playing this week?
  8. I look forward to seeing Tibbs play in the Old Gold and Black next season. They sure could use him.
  9. Luke Hansen vs Brebeuf: - 29 carries for 138 yards - 10 tackles / 5.5 for loss / 1.5 sacks / caused fumble
  10. No running clock in state finals unless they changed the rules since the Roncalli-Hobart game.
  11. Kind of depends if Reitz figures it out next season.
  12. Watched the Roncalli EC game twice. EC announcers talked about how turnovers have been a problem even in games where they thumped teams. Were a big problem in that game. Has EC has played a running clock in all game but two lossses?
  13. So a regional win or a sectional win next year keeps Memorial in 4A?
  14. I though my humor was better, but anywhoo, very hard nice fought game by your Braves. Nice DL play and talent at the WR position. If Geske can continue to progress, that will really move things forward. If a team relays on pass, throwing less than 55% make it hard to win against good teams especially after the bump to 4A. I expect BJ to stay there based on enrollment. I would expect to be favored to win sectional next year.
  15. Good win for the Royals against a team that know you very well and is a strong physical match up. QB play was a telling factor. And turn overs. Who the heck predicted that?
  16. Terrible news for the young man. Wish that was not the case.
  17. My response to this after watching the Mooresville is that they are not a different team. BJ plays a hard physical defense. They will hit you. Not surprised that they pushed Mooresville around. They also have to throw the ball to win. Talent and speed at WR. This has been their formula the past two seasons, though they are not quite as talented this years. (Their two WRs last year were as good a pair as I have seen on any team.) Really comes down to matchups. Can their D win the physical matchup with Roncalli's O? Can they get enough deep balls? Turnovers will also a big deal. Roncalli had the early fumbles against Elder that cost them the game. BJ had 3 INTs first game. Roncalli had one fumble last game that probably cost them a TD.
  18. All depends on what kind of QB play happens. Starting QB for BJ had a QBR of 39.1 last game. Not going to win if that happens again. They got big chunks of yards and at least one TD on RB/WR double passes. Not sure if those will work again. BJ was pretty one dimensional against Roncalli since they could not run the ball. (76 total yards on the ground.) Moyers does not have to outplay his counterparts, he just has to have a decent game and make good decisions.
  19. 2013 Mater Dei 2021 Jasper 2022 Reitz All lost in sectionals 2009 Reitz was the last undefeated SIAC team to win state.
  20. Have not seen any official follow up. Hope it is not as bad as it sounded.
  21. Three story lines in 4A: 1. Reitz upset 2. New Pal RB Injury 3. Northwood issues. 2 of these will not be factors until regionals. Bonus: Mooresville loses to a physical team again.
  22. EC has three playmakers that would start anywhere. Ringer (RB), #1 (WR) and #20 (RB/WR). If their QB can get the ball and not make turnovers, they are very dangerous.
  23. I think the bigger stat is no section championship since 2013.
  24. Flying under the radar. Everyone is talking about the south and only mention Northwood when they remember that side of the bracket.
