What a night in 1A!! Taylor over Pioneer North Miami over Triton South Adams over Madison-Grant Milan over North Decatur Incredible Sectional Championship round!

Taylor over Pioneer would SHOCK people. Cloverdale over Sheridan would be an upset, but not a HUGE surprise to some in Sheridan. The team has just seemed up and down throughout the season.

A "fraud" meaning I never thought they were playing in a way that reflected their polling. Most of the year, they were regarded as a Top 3 team. Top 10, sure, but I never really believed that they were on that "top-tier" level this year.

I hadn't said anything publicly all season, because, with my ties to Sheridan, it would have been assumed that I was just being biased, but I felt like Carroll was kind of a fraud most of the year. I did NOT, however, expect them to get the beatdown that they received tonight.

They wanted the IHSAA to say that the call was wrong, and they basically got that. I don't believe anyone thought that the result was going to get overturned.

It's worth remembering that the game was played in a hurricane. That being said though, Sheridan never seemed to be interested in playing on that night. They were the only team in Hamilton County playing on that particular Friday night, and I've heard the only reason they played, was because everyone else in the conference were playing their games. It was INCREDIBLY unsafe for both teams to be playing that night, but Taylor wanted it more, and got it done.

My bad. I get heated some times. Also, that comment was likely directed at several individuals specifically, and not all private schools as a whole. Either way, I should never have phrased it that way.

I believe they move down 1 class. This is the rule as stated: c. After participation in the same larger enrollment classification for Two (2) years, a School achieving a Two (2) year total tournament series success point value of Two (2) points or below in a specific sport shall be placed in the classification immediately below the Enrollment classification the School occupied during the previous two (2) year cycle unless the Enrollment of the School dictates the same or higher classification previously occupied in that sport.

I never said "them people". Also, do not take my feelings on athletics and private schools as me "not being for private schools". I absolutely have zero issue with private education. However, when it comes to athletics, it's a whole different conversation. I honestly, outside of fandom, don't have a dog in the fight, since my offspring is homeschooled.

The school board didn't make it public. According to the School Board President, they have no idea who called the media last week. The entire article that was originally written had no comment from the administration, Coach Wright, or AD.

I am aware enough to know that the School Board was still fact gathering about the whole situation, on Monday. They held an Executive Session on Monday evening, about two hours before the statement was released about him being reinstated. The whole situation has just been wild, as an outsider looking in. I have a very good relationship with the school, AD, and coaches, and I have none of the actual facts as far as what definitively happened. Like I said earlier in the thread, we likely will never know what actually went down.

Growing up in Sheridan, all I have ever heard about was how this system was the most unfair way to do things. Several top teams from Sheridan were left out, and believe me, they still talk about it. LOL!!

No one wants to speculate on what exactly happened. There are multiple theories in Sheridan, but they are just rumors. We likely will never know what actually happened.

If you'll notice, their update is using the exact same wording. They posted their update using the exact same post that I shared, but sure, keep doubling down that I did something wrong. Sheridan Schools also just posted THE EXACT SAME THING 22 minutes ago.
