  1. I just looked on the IFCA website and it is has not been posted yet. I also was looking for the AP poll and have not been able to find that one either. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  2. This Top 15 is exactly why there are 6 classes in Indiana high school football. How many 6A/5A schools listed? IMO . . . Not much small school love here. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  3. Andrean VS New Prairie- Cougars impressive. NPHS wins Jimmies VS Central - I like Central here, but close. KV vs Washington - Panthers here WS versus Mishawaka - Cavemen Hammond Versus Clay - come on Colonials. Homewood vs Penn - Homewood gets the Kingsmen Riley Vs Adams - Tough one ... rolling dice on Adams. Bremen VS Glenn - Going with Lions here ST. Joseph VS Marian - my coin flip went to Marian as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  4. I saw one on nfhs network at the Triton-LaVille game. Not sure which school. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  5. Greetings To One And All! Hard to believe that we are 1/3 of the way through the 2019 season. Week #3 Involving HNAC Teams. What Say You? Friday, Sep. 6 Caston at Triton ©, 7 pm Knox at Culver ©, 7:30 pm North Judson at North Newton, 8 pm Pioneer at LaVille ©, 7:30 pm Winamac at North White, 7 pm as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  6. Yes, my bad. The under 20 yards I was referring to was meant to be in the second half. Didn't write what I was thinking ..... as always, the game is better from _the_sidelines007
  7. Well, here's my two cents: Caston at North Judson - Just don't see Caston scoring much in this one. NJSP, 38-10. Culver at South Central - SC won a close one last year. Feel like this will be a close one this year. Going with the Cavs, 31-28 Knox at Rochester - Like Knox here, 21-17 Pioneer at Winamac - Pioneer bounces back, 40-0 Triton at LaVille - LaVille has to stay sharp against Triton. Trojans have play-makers that can come up big at any point. Lancer defense held Bremen to under 20 yards according to game announcer on the internet. Going with the hosts, 35-10 Here's to a healthy Week #2 of high school football! as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  8. Great news! Thanks for sharing. Best to Patrick As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  9. 2A Bremen ahead of LaVille after a 20 point loss. Lions are not the team they were last year. According to game on internet, Bremen didn't have much in the way of offense in the 2 half. Bremen soon to be 0-2 after Riley game.
  10. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The LaVIlle offensive line is a new unit, learning to play together for LaVille. They still have a long way to go before I'd say pretty good. That is a bit overstated. They were still below average against a Bremen team that lost a bunch of talent. The LaVille defensive side looked, and I'll use SteelCurtain 88 words here, looked "pretty good" The LaVille defense held Bremen to under 20 yards, had an interception and a fumble recovery in the second half. The LaVille offense has some weapons and once the timing comes together, the offense could be something special. The specialty players have skills and the QB is another year older. The offensive line will be key, though. They just have to learn to play together. I think LaVille gets Triton Friday in the home opener at Lancer Field. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  11. What the heck .... I'll jump in here. North White North Newton West Central Tri County
  12. Bremen has a lot of holes to fill and the coaching staff knows that. They are working with a sophomore at QB, who has difficulty throwing the football. The Bennitt kid came in during the second half to play QB, but we didn't see much from him. Coach Leeper and the staff will keep the Lions working to get better. You can believe that! Riley Central Jimtown Penn Mishawaka Adams v. GlenOak (This is GlenOak HS opener - They are located in Canton, Ohio). New Prairie Northridge
  13. Games involving Hoosier North Athletic Conference this Friday? Have any thoughts, picks, or rants . . . now's your chance! Friday, Aug. 30 Caston at North Judson ©, 7:30 pm Culver at South Central, 7:30 pm Knox at Rochester, 7:30 pm Pioneer at Winamac ©, 7 pm Triton at LaVille ©, 7 pm
  14. If you still need a 2A puller... northern Indiana. Let me know.
  15. Okay . . . the can is open. If Bremen is not the first invited, who is the first invited? I, too, can think of other competition to invite to the Hoosier North Athletic Conference. Yeah, probably two or three. What's your opinion Barryosama?'' As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007 And, I guess while we are at it ... Why would Bremen not be the first? There is just too much that makes sense to invite Bremen to join the Hoosier North Athletic Conference. As Always, The Game Is Better from_the_sidelines007
  16. Is that an undisputed fact or assumption? As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  17. Not quite sure that's how I would have put any school joining a conference. *Did North Judson-San Pierre 'slum' when asked to join the Hoosier North? *Is Mishawaka talking about the Northern Lakes as a 'slum'? I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say just a poor choice of wording .... I would think that Bremen joining the HNAC would be a good move for everyone. The travel is not ideal for the northern portion, but the competition in a lot of sports is pretty good. Let's take a look at the various conference sports offered .... Pioneer has run the race in football ... LaVille in baseball ... Pioneer, Winamac, and Knox have led softball ... boys basketball has had several teams at the top since the conference inception ... girls basketball can say the same ... LaVille in boys soccer ... there are not enough schools in girls soccer to have a conference, so Bremen would help ... Bremen also has swimming, cross country, tennis, and volleyball, which gives the HNAC more depth across the board. I would think it would be advantageous for everyone to add someone like Bremen. I will add, however, that from what I hear, no formal invitation has been extended to anyone to expand the HNAC. Eight is a strong balance for the conference. Unlikely to increase to nine or even 10. But, as we have read in this threat, Never Say Never. As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  18. Yep! This much is true ... However, it is hard when even the home school has attendance issues. I have been to athletic events where the visiting team has a bigger crowd than the home team. As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  19. Understood ... gate is bottom line for all Athletic Departments l. South bend does not travel well. It's unfortunate to say, but attendance is low for SB home events. Sometimes Elkhart does not travel well. The best gate for Elkhart is Elkhart v. Elkhart, at least for now. Don't know about Penn and Mishawaka. I could see Marian and St. Joe up and down. I will add that if Bremen gets with HNAC competition, travel is the worst. Late nights. Second would be some gates, as well. Caston, Culver do not travel well. Sometimes Winamac and NJSP. Triton and Pioneer do travel well. LaVille does pretty well. As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  20. What the most storied week #1 rivalry high school football games?
  21. Thanks! When should high schools be receiving the Gridiron Digest?
  22. Good idea ... schools play a C game in other sports, accomplishing the same goal. Let the kids play! As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  23. Moratorium week is controlled by education-based IHSAA. Followed by IHSAA member schools. Agreed that the student-athletes need time away from school and coaches. AAU and Travel teams are out of hand. Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer all vying for similar athletes, especially at smaller schools. All three want athletes and ask for them in June. Talk about burnout. AAU/Travel ball coaches force the student-athletes to choose. IHSAA can not make choices for student-athletes, Moratorium or not. Bottom line: Student-athletes trying to please everyone puts them at risk. There are student-athletes now that pass on high school team in favor of AAU/Travel teams. 24. Gotta say ... interesting topic. Let's say we started 2 weeks early, as Trojanmp52 suggests. Currently, fall sports except girls golf starts Aug 5. Got to have non-contact days and 10 practices, according to IHSAA. Now let's go backward from Aug. 5 by 2 weeks to fit in the IHSAA requirements. Takes us to July 22, 2019, for Day #1 of football. Trojanmp52, what is the benefit to starting Indiana HS football July 22? The IFCA propose this? Have you checked with any HS football coach on this one? Are we starting ALL fall sports on July 22? If not, that becomes a title IX issue. Just curious..... As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
