  1. They only save Arlington for Center Grove (even though they played there the last couple of years). Time for everyone to move on and quit making it more than it is. (I am sure Temp will come tell us how important he is to the GID and you will keep trolling Cathedral threads while your Trojans move along in the tournament).
  2. Agreed, Coach Ralph and staff will definitely do their best to find a way to stifle the Cathedral Irish. I honestly respect Coach Ralph his staff and what they try to do! Win or lose they always try to come with a plan and are well coached. Yeah there has been a few parents/fans with that mentality. I look at Coach Peebles and Coach Ralph differently. While I think both will use things to motivate their teams. I don"t think it will be the end all be all. I think both are about teaching fundamentals and making their team better each week. Regardless win or lose both coaches will put their best foot forward to teach their players how to play football! Definitely some parents will (I would expect no less) I think both coaches are focused on teaching lessons and making their team better. At any rate all love to you and I hope your family is doing well! I hope your son is enjoying his college experience!!
  3. I just like messing with you, I mean after all you put a curse word like "Boiler" in front of nation.
  4. Hey if Oldenburg Academy can field a football team, never ever think impossible with St. Mary of the Woods.
  5. The school administration could, not sure what that has to do with parents and Players thoughts feelings though.
  6. I didn't say I thought it would make a difference. It was a cool video. Play on the field will be the determining factor. DC always has some good athletes, but they can be rogue at times. I am trying to figure out the over/under on PF 1st half and 2nd half for the DC Hawks.
  7. The Hawks are definitely pumped. They usually have some athletes. It will be interesting to see how this game shakes out at Devere Fair Stadium.
  8. Maybe that is what they are afraid of @tangomight be hording it all and start launching it while Ric Flair is on the mic! Gives a whole new meaning to Nature Boys! 🤣
  9. How dubious of you sly guy! Could there be some pandering to 2 teams that are Trojans! Only kidding great post as usual!
  10. Are we talking jumbo crayons or small ones. I prefer the jumbo onesr!
  11. I get the thought process about only scoring 6 against a undefeated (future 6A State Champion team). That CG defense wasn't giving up a lot of points (at least not their starters and many are playing this year). It also is very telling that Cathedral in 2020 was literally 1:19 (CG had no timeouts) and a 4th and 1 from handing CG their only loss. Yes probably wasn't the best play call in that situation (Cathedral RB was gaining large chunks in the 4th qtr), yes the CG defense made a great play to stop the play, and yes CG's offense made some plays to score going up 17-13 and ultimately win. My personal opinion. 2020 Offense has been one of the better I've seen (QB dual threat, RB speed and power, WR's plenty of weapons, O-line very good). 2021 Defense has been one of the fastest defenses I have seen. 2019 was a very good football team also had a lot of youth playing (who are on the field this year. In the end they are all great football teams. I have been impressed with the Sophomore QB O'Neil for Cathedral 170 of 277 passing 2,271 yards 27 TD 2 Int's (I could be wrong but I don't think his first Int came until week 7 possibly). Not as prolific of a runner as McCahill was but runs well when needed. Great post. Been some really good Irish teams over the years. The Undefeated 96 team was really good too. Definitely can't forget the 98-2000 Irish, some good players that went on to have very good NFL careers.
  12. Nobody would have thought Lawrence Central (who I admit I have not watched at all this year) would beat Warren Central. Especially after WC beat them 48-13 in week 4. Things happen at this time of year (teams get better, injuries take out key players, weather can play a part etc etc). It is a common thing on here for someone to say "No game is a given", "Still a lot of football to be played" etc etc we all have seen it. There are also some that state this team will walk on their way to State Finals and think games are a foregone conclusion. This isn't a thread to rip either side, but more of a post to recalls some times you can think of where your were totally shocked by a team beating another team. The first time that really comes to my mind (I will have to think a little harder to pull up some more) is the 2000 2nd round sectional Cathedral @ Plainfield. 2000 Plainfield was a very very good team that was undefeated. Cathedral was 2 time defending State Champion and undefeated with an All State and eventual Mr. Football RB. Not many (outside of Plainfield players, coaches, parents, and fans) thought the Quakers would win that game. They did 14-7 in a great game. I also watched in 2004 as 3-3 Center Grove beat 6-0 Warren Central 50-49 in the regular season! Talk about points coming in droves! That was a great game and very enjoyable if you were not Kevin Wright or Eric Moore and the ups and downs! I don't think many thought CG would beat the machine that was WC that year (WC eventually went on to win their 2nd of 4 State Titles in a row). What other shocking upsets can you think of (preferably tournament games and not Regular season games)? I will do some more thoughts as I have seen a lot of games over the years.
  13. Shout out to @MICFan34talk about hitting the nail on the head. He was so accurate I started to worry he might know my fortune! Rain definitely doesn't lend itself to teams that rely a lot on the pass. Mooresville struggled early in the pass game. They missed a huge opportunity in 3rd qtr down 17-10 and looked to force EC to a 3 and out. Unfortunately a horse collar tackle on a QB sack for a loss which would have made 4th and long ends up giving a first down. EC never looked back. EC was quick and physical. I honestly was surprised after they saw success running the double wing part of their offense they didn't stick with it the rest of the game. With the rain and they were gaining big chunks. EC was 100% the better running team. Mooresville has a terrific Offense and QB which really showed in the 3rd 4th qtr how quick they can move and score. They really struggled stopping the run (most of the game) and getting going offensively (in the first half). Great game by EC, they should beat Martinsville rather easily. As for Regional it will be interesting to see who EC plays, Memorial or Northview. Won't be an easy game for the Tigers traveling to Brazil to play a very solid Knights. Both teams will have to play their best (I love these types of games).
  14. On the ropes for what? I believe I specifically stated I have no dog in the fight. Go for it after all you're already a legend in your own mind.
  15. Not hard to figure out. There are no guarantee that there will be a home game for any team. That comes down to fate of the ping pong balls and then if you win.
  16. Indiana has been on the map and gained National spotlight. They did with Ben Davis and their #1 National ranking many years ago. They did during the Warren Central dynasty. They have with CG being ranked highly nationally the last 2 years. Playing on a grass field didn't change that. They also have had games televised on ESPN (Carmel/Cathedral). This CG/Cathedral game wasn't chosen to be nationally televised and that wasn't going to change if it was played at Arlington, Tech, North Central, or St. Matthews CYO field. You make way more of it than anyone else on here and definitely won't let it die. IWG just specifically stated that Cathedral has a contract to use Arlington for the regular season. That is all you need should answer all questions.
