    I like it. Maybe you should go all QB rating and add bonuses for performance above enrollment class and multipliers that include Sagarin, Massey and CalPreps ratings. Of course you'd probably have to quit your job to come up with basically the same results you already have. Lol

    I tend to agree. A 4 year starter has to average over 2700 yards per season and 44 TDs per season. So you'll need a historically great player who stays healthy, plays in the right system and makes multiple deep playoff runs.

    There's often some disagreement. I remember thinking Neligh should have won in 2015. Not that Peter's wasn't deserving, I just thought Neligh had the better year.

    Could not agree more. Lots of great players out there. I was hugely impressed with Valpo's junior DE and while I think Maxen Hook was probably New Pal's best pure football player this year the award is an easy decision.

    Now that the season is over, curious if anyone thinks there is a legit case for anyone other than Charlie Spegal for Mr. Football? I know I am biased, but objectively I can't see voting for anyone else.

    Very true. I'd much rather have this than discussing an irrelevant middling program. I assume Coach Ralph isn't going anywhere, but even if he eventually does I will just enjoy and admire what has been built in New Pal.

    This is the most correct answer I've seen. I'd probably add Snider and/or Dwenger to the list although I don't know enough about Ft. Wayne demographics to be sure.

    I will also say, having grown up in Ohio and been in Indiana for 20 years, the gap is definitely shrinking between Ohio and Indiana high school football.

    I saw that too. So using faulty logic and false equivalencies (Cathedral took Elder to OT & East played PC to a 1 score game)I choose to claim New Pal would win the Division 1 state title in Ohio. Lol

    Anyone who may have said that, including myself if I had, was clearly wrong. I'd argue we saw the best 2 teams in the state regardless of class last night. That was a different Valpo offense than we saw a week ago. I'm sure the conditions were a factor but it's also a testament to how truly strong the Dwenger defense is. A fantastic championship game where New Pal just made a couple more plays.

    True, I was surprised at how well Valpo was able to throw it against a very solid, experienced secondary. Some great WR and QB play. Outstanding football game.

    Great game from 2 outstanding teams. I honestly think Valpo panicked a little bit with their 1st 2 possessions after New Pal went up 17. Definitely no quit in that team. Absolutely crazy good on defense 100%

    Valpo's defense is definitely as advertised. Great d line that for the most part took Spegal out of this game.

    2 clear New Pal interceptions called catches for Valpo on the opening 3rd quarter drive, fortunately it doesn't matter after a missed FG
