  1. Top eateries in the WRC (excluding pizza) 1. Beef House 2. 36 Saloon 3. Robbies 4. Gerries 5. Mecca Tavern
  2. We shall talk again come Late Friday night or Saturday morning after the Wolfs run the D1’s out of Rockville. Score predictors are useless except for striking up conversation about an upcoming game. Serious question: who will have more D1 athletes on the field Friday....D1’s or the Wolfs?
  3. Sullivan had 547 students last count...3rd smallest in 3a. D1’s had 544...largest 2a school in football. Wolfs had 336 in the last count. I don’t see an eye popping difference there? Linton had 391 and they compete yearly with the Sullivan’s of the world. The D1’s layed an egg last week. How many D1 football players does Sullivan have on their roster? The Wolfs would smoke Sullivan.
  4. I’m surprised so many people are picking the D1’s over the Wolfs? I am pretty sure the Wolfs at the very least will outscore them. But after last Friday’s dismal performance vs. Sullivan, I will be shocked if the D1’s don’t get ran right out of Rockville Friday.
  5. This has to be the weakest WRC football top to bottom in years. The top 2 teams are pretty good and everyone else (including the Herbies) are not. Obviously the Wolfs have 1 team to worry about in their sectional. It is a unique situation with South Putnam in the WIC, but them playing most of the weaker teams in that conference. Hard to say how good they are. The Wolfs would run into Indy Lutheran in the regional. I don’t think that would be a cupcake game, but the Wolfs are a juggernaut! And I would venture a guess that either of them would handle West Washington. How about the D1’s and winning their sectional? They have to be the hands down favorite in that field. They may shoot off fire works down by the river for days if the D1’s were to win a football sectional.
  6. Week 6 is finally upon us! Although it may have lost a little of it’s luster with the D1’s losing to Sullivan. Do we know yet if Attica is playing this week? I guess we can assume they are which means they think they can win. Won’t work out for them this time. NV 28, Attica 6. Trojans can feel a little better after a pasting of the lowly Rebels. Covington 68, SN 6 The Herbies are rolling. Too bad their season opener got canceled. Would’ve been nice to see how they stack up to the elite team in the WRC. Seeger 54, FC 6 Even though the RP boys are out on the baseball field during the week, they will show up for Friday ready for their first win. RP 38, Cloverdale 0 The Wolfs are a juggernaut and it appears they are hitting their stride. The D1’s have to be licking their wounds from a bad loss at home to one of Sullivan’s worst team in years. Originally I would’ve predicted this to be a very entertaining game. I have changed my opinion on that. The D1’s asked for some competition and got it last week. This week, they had better be careful what they wish for. The Wolfs are on a state record setting pace with the running clock. They will look to extend that streak this week. Wolfs 54, D1’s 14
  7. Looks like this week played to hoyle. Wolfs appear to be a team that is becoming a juggernaut. NV proved that even when they’re down they’re not out. Is RP taking BP during the week yet? Seeger showed that they are superior to the basketball school that is Covington. Attica....we’ll, they played this week because they thought they could win. We’ll see if they show up and play in week 8? The D1’s? They are who we thought they were....the bullies of the WRC. Worst Sullivan team in years and all kinds of D1 talent on the field and still can’t win? Week 6 should be interesting.
  8. I agree with this. The Wolfs can score as many points as they want to score...can you say juggernaut? The only thing I disagree with is the person who said 1000-2. The Wolfs could no doubt push for that magical 4 digit marker, but no way in Haiti’s their offense is going to give up a safety!
  9. Did the Wolfs really take a turner bus to Carroll last week? That is what I’ve been told.
  10. Wolfs 88 Eastern 6 - The Wolfs continue their state record seeking quest for running clock games in a season. Why do they play this game/team? Attica 22 Fountain Central 18 - It appears Attica is only playing the games they feel they have a chance to win. Well, this week and FC provides them with another possible W and they will take advantage of it. NV 35 RP 12 - NV may be down, but they aren’t that down. Time for RP to start thinking about baseball season. Herbies 34 Covington 24 - Herbies will show they are clearly the 3rd best team in the WRC, but they are still a loooong way from the D1’s and the Wolfs. Sullivan 52 D1’s 50 - As much as it pains me, like I have already stated, the D1’s will not come out on top this week simply due to mentality. They have little man’s syndrome when it comes to playing schools such as Sullivan. It is why they are content in the WRC where they can be the bully.
  11. I say the winner of the D1’s and the Wolfs is the automatic winner of the WRC.
  12. The WRC week is complete after the D1’s demolished the Thunserchickens today. Did any other SV athletic team play a game this week besides the football team? The D1’s are rolling and definitely good enough to win next week vs Sullivan.....BUT, you heard it here first....they will lose that game!
  13. We will take what a guy from Whineamac says with a grain of salt 😎. Friday night went just about as expected and once the D1’s destroy the lowly Thunderchickens today the weekend will be complete. Covington struggled for a while with the Stangs, but that is a rivalry game and ultimately came out with the expected double figure win. The Herbies flexed their muscle on RP. 2 questions still remain after this game: 1). Are the Herbies a contender or a pretender? 2). Will RP win a game? The Wolfs obviously didn’t have any bus trouble on the way to Flora and did what they do...a 3rd straight running clock game to start the 2nd half. We are witnessing history in the making folks as the Wolfs continue on with their streak of running clock games. Dare I say juggernaut?? NV struggled mightily with Linton which was to be expected. NV-RP next week...somebody has to win a game.
  14. I am blaming it on a few things: 1. NV is terrible and they are afraid to speak on any subject at the present time. 2. Nobody likes the D1’s and the Wolfs so it is not any fun talking about them and their high octaned offenses. 3. Obviously the Wolfs fans that were on here were parents/relatives of kids who graduated last year...hence nothing in the fight now. 4. Lack of competitive teams/games in the WRC. That is probably the most logical reason. If you can get the Covids from typing on a computer or phone then I am out!
  15. Now that the D1’s and the Wolfs have claimed supremacy in the WRC it appears that the GID has become a bore. Maybe week 6 will bring out the best in everyone! There isn’t a single compelling game in the WRC this week.
  16. Why aren’t the D1’s playing any other sports right now during this quarantine situation and being virtual? I wonder if that could be a title 9 issue?
  17. Not so sure about that. I have heard that the D1’s are moving mountains trying to get all football games played. Without this special football season the D1’s have no identity.
  18. Speaking of Attica, what is their story? I’ve heard they’ve had enough kids to play the last 2 weeks but didn’t have “the right” guys available to play? Are they using Covid to their advantage and only playing the teams they want to play?
  19. Linton 48, NV 0. Not really much to say about this one other than big time mismatch. Week 5 appears to be more to the Falcons’ liking...better days are ahead! Wolfs 58, Carroll 6. Only thing that will stop the Wolfs in this game is a breakdown of the bus...as long as it makes it the long trip ok then the Wolfs will playing their 3rd straight running clock game. D1’s 46, NC 0. Assuming this game is played the D1’s will just be too much for the T-Birds. Rumor has it that there are some WRC schools very upset with the D1’s and their shenanigans from last week/end. Herbies 44, RP 6. Herbies are starting to hit their stride. Panthers are still trying to get rid of the Covid’s. Covington 52, FC 12. Long year for the Stangs. Covington appears to be getting comfortable with their new coach.
  20. Interesting. I am sure it is rather difficult to find teams to play the week of a game so I will give the Wolfs a pass on this one. At least this Carroll team can most likely walk and chew gum.
  21. Week 3 in the WRC is in the books. At least 2 “expected” blowouts and probably 3. Unexpected was Covington’s huge win over NV. That win obviously shows the discrepancy between the top and even the middle of the WRC this year. Looks like FC is in for another long year. This has to be the lowest amount of talent ever in the history of WRC football. That, or 2 of the teams are just that elite? Week 4 brings some interesting scenarios into play. Rumor has it the D1’s have the Covid (and possibly knew this prior to playing today....shame on them) and could be out this week. If they play it will be a whitewashing if the lowly Thunderbirds of NC. Is Attica healthy enough to play the Wolfs? If not, who do the Wolfs play? Do they go for a game that may test them or do they go after someone that they can get records against? I know what my vote is. Looks like the Herbies will roll to another victory this week...too bad them and the Wolfs couldn’t hook up. Trojans will flex their muscle against the struggling Stangs. NV is probably hoping for Covid to either hit them again or Greene County. Stay tuned folks, should be a wild week in the WRC.
  22. Outside of a few teams (and we really know nothing about them since they’ve both beaten inferior opponents) is this the worst overall In terms of talent the WRC has ever been?
  23. NV 12, Covington 8 Wolfs 72, Tbirds 0 FC 18, Frontier 16 Herbies 42, Jay County 14 D1’s 68, RP 0 NV-Covington seems to be best game of the week in terms of competitiveness. Someone has to win. Purely a guess on FC, they could get waxed for all I know. Jay County is a loooooong way from Seeger. The bus ride will be too much. The Wolfs will continue on a state record pace of 7 running clock games in a season. The SV D1’s will be looking for all sorts of paybacks Saturday. 68 may be way too low of a total with the revenge factor and D1 athleticism in play. With Attica canceling on Seeger that makes for a potential interesting week 4 if the Ramblers don’t want to play the Wolfs either. Who will the Wolfs get as a replacement? I’ll bet it’s not any team that could be competitive with them...you can’t get state records playing in games where the other team has a pulse. Time will only tell.
  24. I agree 100%! It really doesn’t hurt to lose a regular season game. And...if you don’t lose it, think about the confidence your team has gained from it. It’s too bad some teams/programs/coaches hide behind beating up on all of the poor sisters all of the time...even when they have the cats to compete.
  25. It looks like SV is flexing their D1 talent through the WRC so far. 97 points in 2 games and their starters have only played 4 quarters. The Wolfs look to be dominant again. I wonder if they saw what Pioneer did to 6a Chesterton? And I was a little surprised with the Herbie score. Maybe the Herbies still had some guys out on quarantine? RP-Attica Monday....in what could be one of the best/worst WRC games of the year!
