  1. $500k pays a lot of tuitions at $7200 a year, surprised your enrollment is dropping...
  2. I will be pulling for the PAC this week but really enjoy the banter from the HH fans.
  3. Getting back on topic if we can get lucky enough to have decent weather I would have to think all four of these teams will have big crowds Friday night!
  4. Well the situation that I know of the young man played travel baseball with several future MD players. He wanted to play baseball in high school with the kids on his travel team even though he was at a public school, playing public school sports with his classmates. His parents had four other children in this public school system and couldn't afford private education for even one of the five kids. Someone with connection to his travel team offered to pay his tuition to a feeder grade school starting in 7th grade. His grandfather referred to it as being sponsored in a private conversation with me. Also these open houses that every school does is a recruiting tool. I never stated that MD was doing anything wrong. If you are looking to save the tuition have you looked into the voucher program? I believe as long as you are not Jeff Bezos you may qualify.
  5. Not trying to get into this argument but I would assume that any player that was originally outside of the MD network would be in place before high school. Say a 7th grader who doesn't go to school in the MD network but lives in one of the three counties that MD has schools in and has interest in MD. They could get sponsored potentially for the opportunity to attend St. Wendel or one of the other 7 grade schools that feed MD. Or maybe their parents could apply for a voucher to help cover the expense. I don't think MD is looking at other teams roster and going after players, although I did see some really nice invitations and heard a radio ad for an open house. *Edit: Let me clarify those invitations and radio ad were not intended for athletes but any interested student.
  6. MD only scored 35 pts (or more) three times this season (Bosse, Harrison, Forest Park.) Linton only allowed over 20 twice (Sullivan, North Knox.) With potential for wet weather I see this game being a 17-14 / 21-14 type game.
  7. @Titan32I thought all the Castle linemen went to Gibson Southern 🙂
  8. Chase Rheinlander (sp?) was a pretty fast running back a few years ago. Was thinking he may have qualified for state i. the 100 or 200. But to your point, rarely does any team in this sectional have “city speed”
  9. The Vikings will have to play their best to get by a good North Knox team, if they do that they will be heavy under dogs to MD or Linton. MD's James Ralph is a big, strong, very very quick young man. Will be a problem for every team they play!
  10. I’ve seen both Princeton and Forest Park this year, I’ll give the points and take MD and VL to cover.
  11. I saw this last night, 35 years old. Prayers for the Schiff family!
  12. Sagarin isn't very effective tool to use when a team plays a conference only schedule. Once the post season starts after a few weeks MD's sagarin rating would change quite a bit depending on outcomes of other teams within the SIAC.
  13. Don't you know the IHSAA takes care of the private schools, another unfair advantage! 🙂
  14. Some big games this week, couple county rivalries and SR vs HH could be a good one.
  15. I thought the sentiment here was if you lose to a better program you have to just get better. So what does it matter if its October 22nd or November 5th? 😉
  16. I think a lot of their fans would like to re-join as well! They have some good younger grades coming up I think coming back into the PAC would help them for the 1A tournament
  17. Non-league game Tecumseh doesn’t want to re-join the PAC in football. 👎
  18. 570 Wow!! That same time period has MD at 493 (14/15 school year) up to 497 (19/20,) by comparison my school, North Posey, went from 513 down to 450...
  19. @TigerFan20Saw you post this in the PAC thread but decided to bring it over here... You said Memorial is closing in on 2A enrollment. I looked back at 2014-15 numbers and Memorial has dropped from 752 students to 609, why is that? Any certain reason Memorial has lost about 20% of their enrollment in 7 years? Maybe it has been answered on here and I forgot...
  20. One of the best profile pictures on here!
