I guess I find it strange that someone would want to go to a University that doesn't align with their own values.

I attended and graduated from ISU because I could earn a degree that has allowed me to be productively employed in my field of choice for 30+ years now,  not because of any nebulous societal "values" that the university held.

Public vs private…isn’t that one of your favorite topics?

Regarding high school football, yes.  But that isn't what we are talking about here, is it?

Eh, football is a solid metaphor for certain aspects of life.

Like what college or university you choose to attend?  If you choose to attend one at all.

Nah.  In this particular case, Notre Dame is a very prestigious private Catholic university.  Not a requirement by any means but your ISU comparison misses the mark.

But you already knew that.  You are being intentionally obtuse.

You really don’t know much about Notre Dame, do you?

No, I guess I'm just too stupid to understand your intentionally obtuse attempt at a metaphor.

Notre Dame is different, there is no denying that.  It takes a special person to attend Notre Dame.  It’s a private, Catholic institution.

Indiana State is a public University in Terre Haute, Indiana that is most recognizable for a basketball player from nearly 50 years ago.

That better?

Hey @Muda69, why’d your girl Kamala (and hundreds of other congressional Dems) skip out on a speech from the prime minister of one of our biggest allies yesterday afternoon?

She’s hanging out with a sorority in Indy while this is going on…

Special person?  If you have the grades and the money I'm sure Notre Dame will accept you,  just like ISU.

Why all a sudden do you believe Ms. Harris is "my girl"?  She's a horrible politician and would make an even worse POTUS.

If you want to talk about Israel please start another thread.

I don’t want to talk about Israel but in a thread dedicated to Kamala in the title, I think it’s a fair question to pose that in her first week “on the job” she (along with hundred of congressional Dems) ghosted the speech from Israel’s prime minister while the capital of our country was defaced, burned and cops were dragged across the pavement.

I mean, a similar event 3.5 years ago was labeled “the greatest attack on our democracy since the Civil War” multiple times, including last night by Biden.

I don't care whether or not Ms. Harris was at the capital to hear this speech.  You seems to think that if she was there then this vandalism and violence would not have occurred?

As a presumptive presidential candidate she probably made a lot more campaign $ by making a speech in Indianapolis than sitting in the capital listening to Mr. Netanyahu complain that he needs more U.S. taxpayer money to fund his war.

As we all know in Washington it's all about the Benjamin's.

I think Mrs. Harris and many Dems are torn on who the bad guys are in the Israel conflict and are carefully toeing the line and attempting to play both sides.

Of course the vandalism would have occurred regardless but you have to admit it’s a bad look for the “protests” (not Trump supporters by any means) to be taking place concurrently with the two biggest faces in American politics prioritizing other things over Netanyahu’s speech.

Why do we prioritize Ukraine over Israel?  We can fund Ukraine being invaded but scoff at funding Israel’s counter-attack?

Zelenskyy is a god in Washington.

Why?  It’s a huge part of the duties of the next president of the United States.

Because this is a thread about whether of not Ms. Harris will be the democratic nominee, not about the duties of the next POTUS.

The way she handles these two conflicts and how the public sees her role in them will play a role in determining whether or not she will be the nominee.

It only took her approximately 20 hours to make a public statement condemning yesterday’s destruction and she did so less than an hour after Vance called her out on X, lol.

How she handles them?  Exactly what kind of decision making power does she currently have regarding these "conflicts"?  Last I heard Mr. Biden is still Commander In Chief,  not Ms. Harris.

Any kind of statement or rhetoric she makes regarding them is worthless IMHO.

Why people give a damn about anything posted on X is beyond me.  It's a vapid wasteland.

Yes, X is a cesspool which is why I come to the GID OOB forum for my political talk, lol.

Gen Z, which will once again play a large role in selecting the next POTUS, lives and dies with social media.

”Mr. Biden is still the commander in chief” may be your best line yet.

Isn't Biden still in the basement? Shouldn't Harris chime in when needed? What's she been doing for the last 3 1/2 years? She's wasting her time in Indiana. We're a red state.

Probably.  Do you know if she has been asked to "chime in"?

I assume fulfilling her constitutional duties as vice president,  like Mr. Pence did before her.

Yeah, but tell that to the members of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, I believe they are the ones who invited her to speak.

I don't think Kamala is very smart. She'd be better served visiting the border. Showing up to Netanyahu's address to Congress. Or a live reaction to the protest in DC yesterday. Instead she's speaking to a sorority in Indianapolis? Some things just don't make any sense to me.
