being a troll

Ahh, the old trope about those having a different opinion or worldview being a "troll".

Go to some other football forum where you can navel-gaze with your other like-minded brethren.

So one has to be 100% passionate about something in order to have an opinion about it?

I frequent other message boards on other topics and hobbies that I enjoy.  Do you?

And please expound on this "ideology about non football related nonsense".  I think I do a good job of keeping no football/sport related discussion to the OOB forum. What exactly do you think my "ideology" is?

Thank you for the info.

I just know that there are 24 hours in a day and as someone who IS passionate about the sport (possibly at an unhealthy level, lol) cannot possibly fathom having enough time to spend hours on a message board dedicated to something that they aren’t passionate about.

Fire starter after fire starter, day after day.  As someone who also loves to be controversial at times and generate discussion I appreciate this trait of yours but when you attempt to double back and virtue signal that folks “take a sport played by children” too seriously I cannot, myself take YOU very seriously.

Your one-liners and smug responses to folks on here that have very little to do with the sport or game itself are more so what I am referencing as opposed to your OOB content.

I think you love the back and forth, which is great an all but the canvas (a high school football message board) that you use as your platform just strikes me as bizarre.

You aren’t the only one though.

My guy, I'll do what I want.

You're a bum though. You make this board a mockery and it's astonishing admin allow it.

Just a reminder, many of these "children" are 18 year adults.

The meaning of CHILD is a young person especially between infancy and puberty.

High schoolers don't qualify.

So in Children of The Corns were Isaac and Malachi children or adults?

The amount of time you think I spend on the GID is vastly overestimated.  I would guess 99% of my posts are made within about an 8 hour window, and usually only during the week.  Hardly 24/7.

Sorry that that hit a nerve with you.  And I've never taken YOU very seriously as well.

I'm sorry you feel that way, temptation.

You be you, chief.  An apparently humorless buffoon.

If you don't like me posting here then by all means report me to the GID administration.  And while you at it why don't throw in a nickel or two for the GID cause.  You're also not a cheapskate, are you?

Speaking from just a youth football position... EVERYTHING has gone up.  Helmets have went up $25-$30 each in just the last 18 months, shoulder pads have gone up too.  Reconditioning the helmets you are looking at ~$70 per helmet.  T-shirts/Jerseys have gone up.  The youth organizations have to be able to cover costs of the equipment.  Not to mention officials, footballs, other equipment, etc.  It's not as cheap as it was 5 years ago to register, but that's due to the cost of literally everything going up.

Amen!

Now, now Donnie.  Making posts here without words like "football", "offense", "defense",  "spread",  "tackle", etc. in them will get you labeled as a troll or bum.  State law.

I think this finally settles the internal debate I’ve been having for quite sometime.

I'm curious.  What kind of insurance obligations are youth football organizations required to carry?  Or is it all on the families of the players?

Don't know about other leagues, but when I coached, our league had insurance coverage as a league which was part of the fees for belonging to the league.  This also extended coverage to the teams for game day and league associated activities.  Within our program, coaches had to be football coaching certified, in addition to the state requirements for concussion and heat certification/training.  That coaching certification carried personal liability coverage too.  Facilities where games were held also had to carry liability insurance.
