I like Noblesville and Fishers to be a little higher.

I do too and they will get their chance.  But right now, you have to reward teams for winning games and as more data becomes available, we will find out who just had bad nights versus who is who they are.

Can’t rank Fishers ahead of Pike who got steamrolled by Ben Davis, who got beaten by Avon who got beaten by Lafayette Jeff.

Can’t rank Noblesville ahead of Fishers.

HSE and Warren Central have to be ahead of Crown Point. 13 thru 16 should be ahead Chatard

Crown Point showed me something Friday night.

They can show whatever they want, they aren’t beating those 2 teams. 7th is about right for Crown Point

I’ll admit, 3-9 is nearly impossible to rank at this point.

You could make a case for any of them.

I’ll say something slightly controversial here, but the ease with which Crown Point dominated Merrillville is better than anything Warren has done in my opinion.

Now, that being said, Merrillville is “Brownsburg lite” in terms of being regular season heroes and tournament zeros, but we will see.

Both of those teams will get their opportunities to jump Crown Point with impressive victories going forward, whereas there is probably only one team standing between Crown Point and an undefeated regular season.

Please. Despite Merrillville having 47 D1 players on their roster every year, they are annually the most overrated team in Indiana high school football. Warren has the better win over Snider in comparing to Crown Point beating the paper champion Merrillville. Hell, from now on I will refer to Merrillville as the Notre Dame of Indiana high school football

Not arguing that point at all, just saying Merrillville isn’t all that. Everyone thought that 5A was weak last year, if that team is one of the 3 best teams in 5A then that is like saying Notre Dame will beat Northern Illinois by 35 points… Oh wait, I guess that happened…

Merrillville is a top 35-40 program.  Comparable to Warsaw if you ask me.

I’m still not confident enough in Warren’s offense to claim this is a slam dunk.

We agree on that, but do you really believe Crown Point would beat Warren Central if the played? I sure don’t.

I do believe Merrillville is a top 25 program in Indiana right now. They should be with all that D1 talent. Warren’s offense is average at best, but with that defense, that is all that is needed

So Crown Point beats a top 25 team on their home field by 33 points and you question whether or not they could beat Warren?

Warren beat Warsaw by 34 at home.  I think Merrillville/Warsaw is a one possession/pick ‘em type of game right now.

You must think the gap from 1-25 is bigger than I do…and I actually think it’s pretty big.

Diversion is a good tactic, but you didn’t answer the question. Do you believe that Crown Point would beat Warren Central? I got it being a 21-7 type of game with Warren winning

Let me be clear about Warren, they won’t win 6A state title with the way their offense is performing now. Brownsburg, Westfield, HSE, and Center Grive would be clear favorites over Warren right now

Would have not said that a week ago.

Then you have Crown Point as a serious contender to win the 6A state title? A team from the North?? Blasphemy!!!

No.  Not yet.  A gap after the top 3 all of whom are in the south.

Like I said, Crown Point is likely gonna run the table.  The rest of the top teams have to face murderer’s row.

EDIT:  Forgot Westfield goes north.

My bad.

Random thoughts:

  • I am more conidant then ever that this is Brownsburg's year to finally win the 6A Title. That Sophomore QB who looks like Johnny U is good. Huge lines. Speed all over the skill positions. Great team.
  • I'm not sold on Westfield at 2. Something just seems off with them. I would put them at 5. The defense is still solid. Zionsville's offense moved the ball on them fairly well, but Westfield didn't break. Twice they kept Zionsville out of the EZ when the Eagles had 1st and Goal from wthin the 10. Westfield's offense just isn't great. Until they get there I think 2 is too high.
  • Noblesville just can't get out of it's way. Forever trying to get into the HCC Top 4 and they had Fishers beat. The Millers took a 14-0 lead with 5:48 left in the 4th and couldn't put the game away. Within 4 minutes they gave up a 48 yard TD pass, went 3 and out, allowed Fishers' offense to easily move 50'ish yards down field for a TD, went 3 and out again and didn't even try to go spread and throw the ball. They brought the Power T out from their own side of the field and about 1:30 left int eh game. Fishers got to within the vicinity of game winning FG. They went for the TD and threw an INT. Noblesville then proceeded to fumble on 3rd & 6 at the 2 yard line. It looked like the RB would have landed in the EZ with the ball if he held onto it. Fishers ended up kicking the winning FG.
  • I think you're being very fair with Crown Point at 4. I too am impressed with the Merrillville beatdown. It's what I would expect from a Top 5 team. I'm just going to cringe if they're now receiving too many 1st place votes over it.
  • Is LN the Sectional 6 favorite?
  • Whether or not Evansville Reitz is the class of the SIAC will be determined. But, I think Memorial is a Top 25 team. Their offense is very good. And they throw a lot of looks at you. They'll go old school and run the option out of the I formation or they'll spread the field with an uptempo passing attack. Fun to watch.

I was there. Total domination in every facet of the game.

How would you say they compare to last year. I thought last year they were elite on the lines and LB'ers. Secondary was atrocious. WR's were decent. Goot catchers and route runners. Not much speed. Same for RB. Very good QB with the Miami (OH) bound Ehrlich.
