Avon @ Brownsburg:  The Bulldogs remain on a mission to prove that THIS is the year they show up in November.  This has been a one-sided rivalry (Brownsburg has won 7 in a row) lately and though Avon is improved, I don't think they have the firepower to keep up.  Bulldogs roll 38-14.

Fishers @ Hamilton Southeastern:  Another rivalry game, this one the Mudsock.  Fishers pulled one out last week to get the sour taste from the week prior out of their mouths whereas HSE went on the road and took care of business at Avon.  HSE has won six in a row in this series and though I expect it to come down to the last possession, I say they make it 7.  HSE wins 23-21,

Franklin Central @ Zionsville:  Is it too early to deem the Jayson West era at FC a failure?  I've had high expectations these last two seasons as he has had time now but last week's shutout loss to Brownsburg had to be demoralizing.  I think West is a solid coach but I just don't know if I see a path to relevancy in this conference anytime in the near future.  Zionsville played Westfield tough last week before running out of gas.  They won't this week.  Zionsville wins 30-24.

Westfield @ Noblesville:  Every time I am ready to anoint Noblesville, they shoot themselves in the foot.  They were in control and had a chance for a statement win last week at Fishers before folding late.  They'll be up for Westfield no doubt and this is the type of game that could reel me right back in on the Millers.  I like what Westfield has done this year and think thet sneak one out on the road.  'Rocks win 24-17.

What say you?

Avon @ Brownsburg: Is it possible the 'Dog's would generous to win by 24? Brownsburg could probably take this one by 30+ if they wanted to.

Fishers @ HSE: The Mudsock game is awesome. Brings out a HUGE crowd and it's went to OT the past 2 seasons. I have a feeling Fishers keeps it close and HSE breaks the game open in the 2nd half for a 10-14 point W.

Franklin Central @ Zionsville: I don't see very much of FC football. West's record prior to joining FC speaks for itself. Is it possible it seems like a failure because FC doesn't have enough athletes/depth to compete in the HCC? I was expecting more from them by Year 4 in the West era. I'll likely be at this one Friday night. I'll take Zionsville by about 6 as well. Any W's the Eagles get in HCC play this year won't come easy.

Westfield @ Noblesville: The Millers should be very salty after the way they choked away the Fishers game last week. Unfortunately, I thnk Westfield is a very bad match up for them. I can see Westfield's defense completely bottling up the Power T. The Millers have a Bowling Green recruit at TE who is an athletic multi-sport athlete, a Boston College DE recruit splitting time at RB and a lot of young RB's with good size. Yet, Sharpe still doesn't try working in the passing game to compliment the Power T run game. Good luck with that plan against Westfield. 'Rocks by 17.

I’m not sure it’s a QUANTITY issue at FC but they need to start winning some more and at least being competitive against the top tier for me to take them seriously.

I'm going to pull a "DT" and say that no team would benefit from a move to the MIC more than Franklin Central.

Agreed.  Never would have said that 5 years ago.

What's the benefit? HCC too strong for a program like Franklin Central?

Yes.  Though they are growing, Marion County is dying a slow death.

The remaining HCC schools are suburban.

Franklin Central seems suburban to me as well. The entire district is either rural cornfields or blue collar/white collar neighborhoods that resemble Hamilton County. Enrollment is top 10. They should have probably never left Conference Indiana.

Yeah, good point.

And still growing.  I just don’t see it from them.  They don’t want it the way these suburban schools do.

I don’t know if my Warren heart could handle seeing Coach West on the opposing sideline…..

He is by far one of the nicest, most generous humans I’ve ever met and a great coach to boot.

Feel the same way about Coach Kirschner. He is and always will be a Giant in my book...even though he was a Warrior first and now.
