1.   I could cast a radius within 25 miles from where I'm currently sitting and possibly find a JV team that could hold Elkhart's offense to 7 points.

2.  One of the worst I've seen all year and Snider's defense didn't have anything to do with it.

I don't think there is one person in this thread that think Penn is going to win this game. Penn fans included.

I do want to pose this question....If CP does not beat Penn like a drum....then what is your opinion of CP?

I think CP wins by multiple touchdowns.... But, I am curious what everyone will say, if the expected scenario does not occur.

If Crown Point beats Penn by 7pts, I'm still not counting them out of winning the North. They come across as a program that just gets things done.

Am I allowed to speak?

I’d be very concerned as a CP backer if this one is close.

The transitive property doesn’t tell everything, but if you are a true threat for the title, you dispose of clearly inferior teams with little difficulty.

Now, these are teenagers we are talking about so I guess I should also keep that in mind.

Since when do you ask permission to speak?

I'm not convinced that Penn is "clearly inferior". Yes, the Mishawaka game was an eye opener, but that was back in Week 2. I don't think it's out of the question for a team to be drastically improved ten weeks later

I love that all our questions are about to be answered on the field over the next few weeks.

That seems about right to me, although not all 7 point victories are the same. A 7 point win in a higher scoring game would have to be some cause for concern, but that seems unlikely to me.

I think you could, to some degree, throw out the Mishawaka tape when evaluating Penn's defense. An inexperienced group with a challenging assignment in week 2. They have no doubt improved. I suppose it's worth noting that CP and Penn have two common opponents whom they both beat. But, CP is head and shoulders better than any team Penn has played since the last time these two met, and this Penn team certainly feels inferior to CP.

Certainly a red flag for CP's aspirations if it's a close game, more so if Penn puts up some points.

Penn has a good defense, but that offense has struggled this year. I would be tempted to call for the upset if Penn’s offense was good, but I struggle to see them getting to 14 points and CP is easily going to get to the number. If Penn somehow gets 28 points than CP is not who we all thought they were quoting Dennis Green

I might be the one who has expressed the most confidence in CP all season. Your question is a good one.

I would become very concerned about my previous predictions holding up if it were a tight game. This Penn team is not the type of team that plays a style that will give CP trouble.

The teams that I think can give CP trouble are teams with a very good front 4 on defense that can stop the CP running attack, lber’s or safeties that can cover te’s, large offensive line that can create a running game and alot of speed at wr on offense.

In my opinion, CP is a much improved team from last year primarily on defense. Anyone with a half of a football brain knew that CP pass defense was extremely flawed just simply bad last season. They were decent against the run but overall lacked speed on defense.  This year the secondary is a lot better and overall athleticism has improved. The secondary still would be where I would attack them though.

Offensively, they are similar to last year with the addition of some playmakers in the passing game. Offense was not their weakness last year and is as good or better this year.

LOL...The hyperbole was layered pretty thick in that one. Still, when you see it, you see it. Concord, New Prairie and Penn all pretty much shut down Elkhart's offense. It's not like Snider put forth some hurculean effort.

All I know is what I saw. Elkhart had some athletes on the offensive side of the ball. Outside of Snider and Penn, they averaged 34 points per game. Not sure why everyone is so down on Elkhart all of a sudden. I thought they played a competitive game against a program that has a pretty decent reputation. A 6A program loses to 5A Snider and now all of a sudden they stink? Outside of seven or eight teams, I think Elkhart could take just about anyone to the wire. I'm not saying they're ranked ninth, fifteenth, or twentieth, just saying that they are a pretty good football team.

I agree , 5A #1 Concord Struggled with Elkhart and barely escaped .

A couple of South Bend schools are inflating that average points per game. Not saying they stink at all. Never said that actually. Just stated they're offensively challenged.

The defense Elkhart had was very good, certainly one of the better ones Snider played against this year. Their offense was not very good and is what was holding them back from a deeper run in the playoffs

I doubt history will repeat itself , but last year CP rolled everyone leading up to the Penn game and escaped with a 1 point win .

Not even close. I still think they fell asleep on the bus on their way to play a winless team. They turned around and outplayed Carmel, supposedly the best team in the state that year, for an entire half the following week without their best offensive player. So no, not conceding :). Thank you for remembering :).

I give Elkhart's defense a slight edge over Dwenger and an absolute edge over East Noble. That's decent company. Not sure I can compare them to Carroll since Snider's offense looks a lot different than it did when they played Carroll the first time around. I saw lot's of similarities in their defense that I saw with Warren Central. Edge to Warren Central.

31-7. It appears Carmel fell asleep on the bus ride to Fort Wayne and woke up at HT.
