Luers and Garrett played several times when both were in 2A with Luers always coming out in top, but this is not a powerhouse Luers team, especially offensively. In the past, Garrett had trouble dealing with the athletes at Luers, thinking of Jaylon Smith and Anthony Spencer, both ex NFL players. Maybe this year it is a more even playing field for Garrett. Kind to of rooting for Garrett to go to LOS and compete for a state title, but we will see I believe people are drastically under estimating Knox. Myles Mclaughlin is the best running back in Indiana and is top 10 statically in the country. Conroy also has run for over 1500 yards. These 2 will be to much to handle for Garrett. Knox has also played a much harder schedule overall. Do not let 9-3 vs 12-0 fool you. Knox shutting our Marion last week should show Knox's defense is playing there best football at the right time. I believe this game will look similar to last seasons Regional game when Knox upset West Lafayette and Mclaughlin ran for 250+ and scored 5 tds. As for a potential 3a public school to beat Lures Knox is that team not Garrett. Knox 35 Garrett 14 Quote

Bermuda grass is often considered a better option than artificial turf for football due to several key advantages: Player Safety and Comfort: Shock Absorption: Bermuda grass offers natural cushioning, reducing the risk of injuries like abrasions, joint strain, or concussions that can occur on harder artificial surfaces. Traction and Grip: Natural grass provides better traction, helping players make quicker, more natural movements and reducing the risk of slipping. Performance: Natural Playability: Bermuda grass allows for a more authentic football experience, offering better ball control and bounce. It adapts to weather conditions, ensuring a consistent playing surface throughout the season. Variable Playing Conditions: Natural grass can be maintained to optimize its condition, giving teams the option to adjust the field for specific types of play (e.g., wet conditions, dry conditions). Environmental Benefits: Cooling Effect: Natural grass has a cooling effect on the field, which is especially important in hot climates. It absorbs heat and provides a more comfortable playing environment compared to artificial turf, which can become significantly hotter. Sustainability: Grass fields support biodiversity, improve air quality, and can help with water absorption and flood prevention. Aesthetic and Tradition: Visual Appeal: Bermuda grass is aesthetically pleasing and offers a traditional football look, which many players and fans prefer. Cultural Significance: Football is traditionally played on grass, and using it helps preserve the authenticity and history of the sport. Maintenance: While artificial turf requires minimal upkeep in terms of watering or mowing, it needs regular cleaning and can be prone to wear and degradation over time. Bermuda grass, although requiring regular care (mowing, watering, etc.), is a more long-term sustainable option when properly maintained. Overall, Bermuda grass offers a combination of player safety, performance, environmental benefits, and tradition that makes it a better choice than artificial turf for football. 1 Quote

I think these teams will look across the line of scrimmage tonight and see a lot in common personnel wise. I could certainly see Knox running away with it, they know how to win come tournament time and Garrett really doesn't have that experience. Edited November 15, 2024 by adambetz Quote

Believe me, they have played against Pruitt from West Noble numerous times and McLaughlin is no better than him. Is it possible Garrett loses to Knox? Absolutely. Is it likely? No, certainly not by 21 points as you predict Edited November 15, 2024 by Komets2727 Quote

No, certainly not by 21 points as you predict Mclaughlin is 10th all time in scoring and 15th all in rushing yards and he's only a junior. How is Pruitt seriously even mentioned in the same conversation. Here is the truth these Garrett kids have never played a kid like Mclaughlin and everyone will see that tonight. Ask West Lafayette how under estimating Mclaughlin worked out last year. As for the schedule North Judson would beat Garrett. NJ will win the 1a state title this year. Who has Garrett played? The strength of schedule is very lopsided in Knox's favor. Edited November 15, 2024 by Ryan11p Quote

Well....agree to disagree...If you want to play apples to apples, Knox beat Tippy Valley this year 26-3 (215 rushing yds)....Garrett HAMMERED Tippy Valley 42-13 (341 rushing yds) not to mention the Railroaders are the only team to beat Adams Central in the regular season in the last 3 years this past year so your strength of schedule argument kinda goes out the door.....Garrett by 17 and the game will never be in doubt..... Garrett bodybagged potential 2A state champ Adams Central. Quote

The Schedules are simply not comparable. Don't believe a pre season list go look at them. How do you explain a OT win vs a 4-6 Dekalb? Garrett's wins over Adams Central and West Noble are great but the rest are VERY weak. Knox's win over Marian alone trumps these. Wins over Griffith, Pioneer, LaVille, and Jimtown are more impressive than anything on Garrett's schedule beside the two mentioned. I challenge you to find Garrett wins outside West Noble and Adams Central that are Equal to Griffith, Pioneer, LaVille and Jimtown. 1 Quote

The Sagarin rating, including the strength of schedule rating, are a dynamic ratings system updated weekly. Griffith literally lost to the only two average or better teams on their schedule. Pioneer just got blown out by Taylor. LaVille is down for them and Jimtown was inconsistent. Garrett beat WN twice, which is hard to do with good teams. Garrett beat Lakeland twice, which is hard to do with good teams. Garrett beat the breaks off of Fairfield who beat CMA who beat Knox. It's close, and I think its gonna be a good game. I could see Knox winning by two scores if things go their way but personally I'm picking Garrett in a close one. It's not as cut and dry as you think it is. Quote

Even though they were only 4-6, one could easily say the win over Dekalb(4A) is just as strong as a Laville (1A), Pioneer (1A) and Jimtown(3A) if not way stronger. Congrats, you beat up on some 1 and 2A schools. Bottom line is Garrett will only need 2, maybe 3 stops all night because Knox will NOT be able to stop Garrett from scoring until they bring the reserves in, and yes, I think it will get to that point..... You guys said the same thing last year about West Lafayette and the Sargain rankings were bias last year also. Quote

Sagarin ratings are a system used to rank sports teams based on their performance over a season. The ratings are calculated using a mathematical formula that takes into account factors such as the team's win-loss record, the strength of their opponents, and the margin of victory in each game. Yeah....sounds real biased.....lol Quote

The strength of schedule is based off of their results against other teams. It's literally just numbers and you know what they say about numbers right? This one seems real personal to ya. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over the results of this game. Hope your son plays well. McLaughlin put up a whole lot of those numbers against a whole lot of stinky Culver, Caston and Winamac teams. I'm not impressed. To many people screaming about bias and not enough people actually putting in the work in this day and age. If you want something to change then do something to change it. Quote
