On second thought he might.

Question becomes, could we call it “pulling a Notre Dame?”

Notre Dame is above any of those silly bowls they would have been invited to. You call it quitting, I call it a simple "no thank you, not wasting our time on anyone not named Ohio State or Indiana."

Not a chance.

There's a 60% chance you're right. We'll see.

Guess Temp is just wired differently.  Maybe I am old school.

You doubt me/tell me I can’t do something, I’ll try like hell to prove you wrong.

Sad what Notre Dame has become.

Enlighten us. What have they become? Just looking for reasons to bring them down to your Wolverine's level? You are relentless, I'll give you that.

A program that paints itself as a victim and runs from competition.

Hell, I’d argue the Wolverines have every reason NOT to play in their bowl game and not one player has opted out as of now…

Michigan is one of those teams that are excited to play in one of those bowl games. Waste of time for Notre Dame.

LOL, at poo pooing a chance to line up and prove the committee wrong and (worst case scenario) getting some young guys reps while collecting a large check that you get to keep all to yourself.

Especially for a program that, prior to last year, hasn’t fared all that well in bowl games.

Can’t lose if you don’t play I guess.

Serious question. Are you the youngest or somewhere in the middle? You're certainly not the oldest. That's been weighing on my mind for the last five minutes.

ND will have to own that one for a while. Far more disappointing to me than being the first team out of the playoff.

Stop deflecting.  Can’t believe you defend guys making millions of dollars not playing…

Will those making significant NIL be giving some of their funds back?

Why make someone else millions? If you want to be graced with our presence, it will be in the playoffs or nothing at all.

That’s the Notre Dame arrogance I’ve learned to hate over the years.

The problem is it used to be warranted because the results on the field spoke for themselves… not so much anymore.

They would have been this year's champions, but the SEC is afraid. A couple of injuries from winning last year. And probably the front runner in 2026.

Notre Dame fans are happy with recent results on the field, that's all that matters.

Honest question, didn’t Michigan beg out of playing Ohio State in 2020? What about challenging themselves then? I mean, they played everyone else on their schedule that year except Ohio Stste and cancelled the game.

23, that type of arrogant statement is exactly why Notre Dame is the most disliked college football team out there. Let me clue you in on something, if the Irish failed to exist, guess what, college football would still go on without them. Only people that would miss them are Irish fans.
That is reality…

???? They lost to a SEC team at home.

Your comment kind of sounds delusional. Would ND be a competitive team in the playoffs?  Sure.  Lock to win it all….hardly.

Professor Temp, do tell as what happened was well documented… I love your slanted version of your reality…

It's clear that some of the IU fans on this forum were so scared they would have to play Notre Dame that they feel the need to talk smack now that they won't have to play them. We've seen the praise for Alabama, why not talk about that potential matchup?

I'm an IU fan, but a conference championship or a Heisman isn't going to guarantee a National Championship. It's going to take 3 complete games. There have been several games this year with a lethargic first half that were pulled out in the end by 2nd half heroics. Can we really count on that happening at this level we're at now? School has never been in this position before, what's to stop them from pulling a Purdue choke move? It's entirely possible.

You claimed they played all of their games up to that point which was false.

You also claimed they “begged” their way out of the game:

0 for 2 which is not surprising from you.

TDS is real.

Right there with Indiana, Ohio State, and Georgia in my opinion.

Good luck to your Hoosiers. Fantastic story.

I can agree ND would be up there. FPI ranking of 4 I believe. I might add Texas Tech to the list.

Everyone really seems high on Texas Tech, before I even gave them much thought. Will be interesting to see how that turns out.

Agree..and I’m torn to be honest given they’re not impressive SOS. But they looked darn good against a solid BYU team.

I still think it's going to be the Indiana, Ohio State, Georgia show. But there's ten pretty good teams, I think anything can happen on any given night.
