Sparty Posted January 26, 2025 Posted January 26, 2025 Not a huge fan of either, but Greenberg just absolutely OBLITERATED Schefter on Sunday NFL Countdown. And of course, Schefter and his little man, know it all attitude got butt hurt. Greenberg mentioned how someone is always lurking over the HC’s shoulder in Dallas. Schefter says with a straight face, who? Greenberg goes off and says Jerry Jones. Schefter tried to defend his surprised answer. And gets destroyed. It was really good. And the picture in the graphic literally had a picture of Prescott with Jones over his shoulder. Lol Quote

Coach Nowlin Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 I dont' blame him, he is looking for situation where Ownership/Prez, hires GM who hires HC and get the vertical alignment vs JAGS situation so it goes Quote

Go…… It seems to be working at the moment in the nfl. Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 in my opinion: Vertical Owner hires President who hires GM who hires HC who in conjunction with HC/GM hire staff I believe the best ran organizations do it that way. If I am GM candidate, and the Owner or Previous GM hires the HC then hire the GM, what if there is issues that the new GM has with whoever the owner/president hired? For instance, When Pace was fired, and Poles Hired, then Flus hired 2 days after Poles, no way Poles had enough time to vett and it was done by Ted Phillps and George......and you saw how that went. A lot of big pay days too to bottom, but it is a private organization and I can choose to support them or not, so I’m good with their salaries. I for one do not give a dime directly to the nfl or certain team (red zone or whatever it’s called, going to games, merchandise). Why have a President? What exactly does this position do to warrant their huge pay? Quote

Presidents equate to CEO's. and their role is primarily on the business side of the NFL to ensure financial/ business success for the Owner of said team. Some teams like Dallas Own/Act as CEO/President, Jerry Owns, Son is CEO/Prez. For the longest time Bears were Owner and paper pusher with zero football sense Mr. Phillips as President, he did a great job of making Bears lots of money, however, on field product suffered many times over, now with Kevin Warren, not only does he have Biz experience in NFL in same position, like in Minnesota, he is a football person as well. The good CEO/Presidents allow the guy they hire at GM to run the football operations without hinderance and get called upon when asked for finances of said players, FA, extensions, etc, but not hey Kevin who do you like at pick 10? Coach Nowlin Posted February 11, 2025 Posted February 11, 2025 Chiefs will need to be VERY creative, positive with Mahomes he can easily under the rules of NFL restructure his deal to alleviate 66 million in cap money, most elite QBs do this because they understand their teams need money to bring in talent. 1 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted February 14, 2025 Posted February 14, 2025 Does he play again? Saw some stuff on Tom Brady willing to bring him in for a few years in Vegas, however, do not think Brady (even as minority owner, sounds like he has heavy pull based on NFL chatter ) would put up with his choices he made with JETS, most notably, skipping training camp Quote
