you seem down pretty bad on cathedral

I would see week 2 as more of a testament to how good Brownsburg is, rather than cathedral being that far behind.
(have not actually seen the game though)

Well, seeing how Avon put it on BD compared to the rock fight that Cathedral had was what I was basing my ranking off of.

Plenty of opportunities on the remaining schedule for the Irish to get statement wins.

This is the worst Cathedral team I've seen in years.

Side note, I am having trouble seeing more than 1 more guaranteed win left on BD's schedule.

I will give them NC but there is a very real possibility the Giants are 2-7 entering the tournament.

Seems they can't score?

Average at best QB play, no big play/homerun threats on the outside, and inconsistent line play has doomed the offense. Haven't scored a TD since the 1st quarter of week 1. Oh yeah, and committing a million penalties a game hasn't helped either. Defense has played well in spurts but still way to susceptible to the chunk plays and they are consistently put in a tough spot by a sputtering offense.

There's a few wins left on the schedule, but may have to wait until next week against Southport. They may be back in 4A in two years if New Pal isn't bumped to 6A after the season.

Did the exodus to NC come to fruition?

And if so, why are they still so putrid?

Lost several guys to NC. They are all sophomores starting for an extremely young NC team who has at least looked competitive through 3 weeks. NC will be a team to watch in the coming years, assuming they all stay put.

Didn't I read here during the summer that Cathedral had an assistant leave for N. Central, and had a bunch of players follow him?

Carmel apparently is getting their money's worth by luring back former coach Kevin Wright. Three games, all at home, but still, only Westfield's 31-10 loss to them was the closest of the three games. They and the 'Burg could be headed to a LOS showdown Thanksgiving weekend.

East Noble looks incredibly good. Freshman Austin Phillips looks like a future Mr. Football positional candidate at LB and totes the rock like a man possessed and he's like their third guy in the backfield. Biddle has been making great choices with the ball. It will be interesting to see how Snider does with Carroll (I think its a close game). I'd say EN is the best team in NE Indiana this year and I'd pick them over Carroll and Homestead.

Shoutout Southside for hanging tough with Homestead.

East Noble abused Snider, and so will Carroll. Right now, I have Carroll over East Noble, but I think it would be a good game. Carroll beats HSE in Week #1 if they're healthy.

Worst, but still Top 20? I mean, they beat Ben Davis. Can't be too horribly bad.

Could say the same thing about Ben Davis. Staggering that a school of that size is playing a freshman at QB.

I’d have Merrillville in. I know they are 1-2 but the lost to two top teams.

a 3x back to back to back state champ in Illinois and then top 5 in 6A crown point. I mean they would beat all of 19-25 I think.

also how about some Hobart love? Or Andrean?

Merrillville was my next team in if that means anything.

Hate to see Merrillville left out, but again, who do you eliminate. Those 25 teams are pretty good.

Eventually you have to win games though as moral victories only count so much.

Looking at you, Ben Davis and Franklin Central.

Slide Carroll up to #10. East Noble to #15. Penn to #19. Would like to see Merrillville in there somewhere, not sure who I'd eliminate though.

Man, I am just happy Penn is even considered for Temp's top 25. These first few weeks have surprised me for sure. Going down 16 fast to Mishawaka, to then come all the way back and win by 6. The O looks better than last year. I still think they have a tall task of winning sectionals this year with CP still looking like the team to beat from the true North.

When playing other good teams though, it's really about the eye test. Carroll is probably the best 1-2 team in the state by far.

Honestly, I think Crown Point and Carroll are the teams to beat up until semi-state. Penn could challenge though. Not real high on Elkhart or Snider.

I for sure thought Elkhart would be better than they have shown. I think they have a lot to show this weekend. With Riley, and Penn just beat the brakes off of them, they should do the same. If they don't I think we have a decent idea of who Elkhart is, playing to the level or their competition.

Not much of an "eye test" as I am mainly going off of boxscores, heresay and victory margins.

Can only argue with the "by far" of your statement about Carroll.  I think Decatur Central and Ben Davis would like a word.

Is that like the toilet bowl trophy Gus Macker used to hand out?
