The CFP Selection Committee said the reason Notre Dame is ranked ahead of Miami is that Miami's two losses were to unranked teams, and Notre Dame's losses were to two ranked teams.

Bama’s second loss is to a FSU team that is now 5-6…

5 seed is the money spot.

Probably. I’m not ready to conclude that the byes are a disadvantage yet since the format was nonsensical, but this year could be conclusive.

Still think a home game and a date with a G5 team is the best case scenario.

i just have flashbacks of being in the old RCA Dome, watching the #1 seed Colts go down to wildcard team Pittsburgh, who ended up winning the Super Bowl.  I believe that was the year the Colts were like 15-0 and sat players to rest, blowing their undefeated regular season.  They then got a 2nd week of rest being the #1 seeded team with a bye.  They promptly came out in the playoff game, well rested and healed up....and played like crap, losing a close game.  Ugh!!

I was just getting ready to bring that up by saying Tony Dungy learned the hard way. I remember shaking my head thinking, "this team is going to come out flat with three weeks rest." Now, if I knew that, why in the hell didn't  a seven figure salary NFL coach know that? Can't say I'm much of a fan of the Colts, but I really enjoyed watching them during the Manning years. Not complaining though since they lost to my beloved Steelers.

Let's just put the whole "Notre Dame gets special treatment" whining to rest. Notre Dame would waste Texas Tech by three touchdowns.

For all the SEC whiners out there? You're BEST team came to South Bend in Week 2, when the defense was still suffering growing pains of having a new coordinator, and came away with a one point win as a result of a botched extra point and a phantom facemask penalty that kept an A&M drive alive. Let me say this again. Your BEST team came away with a lucky win at a time when Notre Dame was playing their worst.

I have no reason to believe that this team can't win the whole damn thing. Yet you have cry babies out there whimpering about schedule and independence. I need my own radio show so that can rip these guys to pieces. Better yet, performance on the field is what will ultimately make these whiners look stupid.

Don’t agree with you at all on this my man. A&M was lucky to win? The Irish gave up 41 points and got shredded defensively. Game could have went either way and I believe it was at Notre Dame. Texas Tech is legit, ain’t nobody beating them by 3 td’s. Offense is excellent and their only loss was when their starting QB was hurt. Hell , I would have them at #4, not Georgia. Now, do I think A&M is a real title contender, no. I believe they will lose next week to an average Texas team and possibly lose again in their conference title game.

Notre Dame will get a #7 or #8 seed and we will see how good they really are. Can they beat an Alabama? In my opinion, no. Reward for winning that game could be Ohio State. Good luck

Not sure what to think of your opinion on this one. You still think Carroll has it's worst team in 5 years.

Notre Dame beats Bama by two touchdowns, as does Ohio State. Bama isn't Nick Saban good.

At least two touchdowns against Texas Tech, give me that. Bottom line.........no Big 12 team should be comparing themselves to the Irish.

I wish I had my own talk radio show so I could piss off a bunch of SEC fans. But Ohio State, Notre Dame, and IU......no particular order........might be the best three teams in the country.

Nobody is beating Texas Tech by 3 TD’s this year. Bama is not great, but neither is Notre Dame. 2 losses is 2 losses, this ain’t grenades where close counts. Stop with the Carroll nonsense, this was their worst team in the last 5 years. Facts are facts. Now, I will agree the SAC has shown well in the tourney, but is it because they are really that good or the competition is bad? I lean toward the latter. I think teams are overall worse than they were 5 years ago. You can disagree if you want, that is fine, but the quality is just not what it used to be to be.

If this was Carroll's worst team in five years, then Suburban Indy football is HIGHLY overrated this year.

Based on Carroll being 8-4??? Uh, ok…

How did Carroll spill over to here? 😄

It's like that ending scene in Blazing Saddles when the fight ended up in the commissary 😆

Pitt knocking off GA. Tech makes things more interesting in the ACC. Miami may be the first out when the new polls come out this week. They NEED to get to the ACC Championship game, but they need a lot of help. Pitt winning tonight hurt them. Really hoping Pitt takes care of them next week.

Well, it relates because his predictions on college football don't mean anything after his assessment of Carroll's season :)). Just busting his b**** of course.

The Pitt game just makes Notre Dame look that much better.

Okay, I concede, need to keep this about college football. Carroll's 8-4 record is proof that they wouldn't match up to any of their previous 4 seasons.

ND is rolling right now. Kind of smart playing your toughest 2 games beginning of the season. Let’s be honest, A&M had to make incredible plays to beat ND. I was very suspect early about ND’s defense. But they have seemed to really improve as the season progressed.

Sorry, but another homer shoutout for Center Grove’s own Caden Curry. Awesome senior day leading his team in tackles with 2 QB sacks and a fumble recovery. Leads team in QB pressures this season. Young man stuck it out and what a senior season.

In light of the 12 team playoff, are conference championship games eventually going the way of the dodo? They generate an awful lot of $$.

I think they will become a thing of the past. If That school east of us and IU end up in the conference championship; odds are too high that they could play again in the playoff. In the case of the ACC, you have your highest ranked team in a spot where they could be left out of the playoff. They likely won't play in the conference championship, which will hurt them. There is also the potential (not this particular season) that teams could play each other 3 times. No matter how much money the conference titles bring in, no one involved would want that to happen. There is the risk too that a loss in a conference championship could knock a team out of the playoff completely.
