NIC v.s. DAC Penn/Crown Point

Even better, Penn joins the DAC thus keeping Valpo, drops Mishawaka, then add one school either from FW schools or HSE/Fishers/Westflied. Now you are talking a much improved schedule for Penn and also competitive DAC schools.

Logistically, LC would be the furthest travel time. Laporte, MC, Portage, Valpo, Chesterton are relatively close. Merrillville and CP are easy drives, all interstate.

I know this has been discussed a lot before but it makes too much sense. Penn already plays all these schools in other sports. There must be some strong commitment to the NIC by Penn.

Move LC to the NCC along with maybe Griffith (makes a 10 team conference——big/small division). DAC adds PENN.

why would anyone want a 10 team conference? LC does not fit the NCC they are 6A.  It’s a good 4A conference for the most part. I’d love to see Griffith come back. I also think it would be good for Griffith. The conference they are in is not very good.  Illiana Christian is joining the NCC next year and started football this season with a jv schedule. This will make it a 7 team conference.

Sorry, with Illiana joining, the NCC will be a 8 team conference. 7 conference games and 2 non conference games.

Girls sports are very good to elite in 6A. Boys basketball is competitive and really good every few years. Boy’s baseball is always good and just win the 4A title recently. Both boys and girls soccer are good. LC athletics is very good with one exception, football.  I don’t know why but it really is their only blemish.

Just found out I’ll be at Freed Field Friday night. Excited, not just to observe a very good crew and see a very good football game, but because that place holds so many great memories for me. Worked some HUGE games there over the years. My last game as an on field official was there. Always treated well. A real first class organization.

I’m sure you’re being sarcastic. I’ve personally observed that crew on multiple occasions. They are in the top tier of crews in the state.

Good luck to Penn Nation tonight. Good to see you guys back. Game of the week statewide in my opinion. Lots of good games, but I believe this is the only one that features two 10-0 teams. Should be a great atmosphere.

I hope both teams are locked in and ready to roll tonight. 

I have a feeling the New Pal game is the true game of the night with the winner going to be the odds out favorite to win it all in 5A.

I would agree. I think McAfee, Coach Saban, and the ESPN crew would go to New Pal and Cathedral. Big Noon Kickoff on Fox would cover Penn and CP. Both BIG games, but one is bigger than the other on a state (national in terms of my hypothetical/ joke) scale.

I don't think so. Two northern 6A powers take the cake, both being undefeated helps. To each their own.

LOL , I wouldn't say Penn is back . I would say we are  back when we make a state title game and not get embarrassed .

Penn Dominates CP. Penn special teams horrific . Had 3 bad punt Snaps and a botched field goal snap. They gift wrapped 17 points for CP and should have had an easy field goal .

Agreed. The Penn defense was the story. And their passing game was very underrated.

CP scores on their first offensive play of the game. Penn allows only 1 first down the rest of the first half. Penn needs to fix the special teams mistakes of the second half. This game should not of been close. Should of been 31-14
