Coach Nowlin Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Would NIKE for instance in this case have final say since its "Their' jersey? Quote

I like efforts that reduce the potential to pass on costs to the consumer, student, etc. But again, does this present unfair advantages to some schools vs others to lure the biggest sponsors? Locations, marketability, coaches, existing brand, alumni/donors, etc. Quote

Schools who add the fees to everyone to support athletics won't ever go away Geographical location of course will matter and yes there will be a gap of the Haves and Have nots For Instance: Lets say FORD motor group wants to put logo on All Michigan Schools .... do they pay the same AD price to UM as they do to Eastern Michigan.... me says NOPE 1 Quote

They could negotiate with athletic departments to limit additional sponsors if they wanted to, but I’m fairly certain this is all depends on the terms of individual contracts. It’s possible, however unlikely it might be, that there are deals out there already that restrict additional sponsors appearing on the uniform. 1 Quote
Bash Riprock Posted January 29 Posted January 29 This ESPN predictor in 2026/27 has ND over Georgia for the championship https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47683244/2026-college-football-playoff-bracket-projection Quote
23andCounting Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Honestly had no idea Lou Holtz was 89 years old until now. Life just gets away from us I guess. If I'm understanding correctly, maybe it was a car accident about a year ago that resulted in his decline in health? I hate to see that, maybe he would have lived to be 100. Quote

Crazy to see that in 2025 alone, 17 teams had a 10 win season. Not making excuses for the CFP committee, but good teams definitely going to be left out of a 12 team format. Compounded with 2 G5 teams taking a couple more spots. If D1 FBS eventually go to 16 teams, still some good teams left out, but certainly would pull some strong teams and create less controversy. Seeding may lead to some debate for sure, but far less. Quote

A twenty three (no correlation) year gap between Purdue and everyone else is hard to grasp. "but good teams definitely going to be left out." The more I think about, the more disgraceful Notre Dame being left out feels. Especially after seeing the pitiful product on display...........Tulane, James Madison, Oklahoma, and Alabama more specifically. Anyways..............you brought it up. Quote

It looks like 17 teams won ten or more in 2024 as well. I wonder if that number goes down now that the SEC will play nine league games and LSU has solved their BK problem. Though inevitable, engineering the playoff format so that the fewest number of “good” teams are left out is a mistake. Lots of whining, crying, and tinfoil hat wearing after the selection of the playoff field, but of all the teams whose bubbles burst this year, only Texas had a win—multiple—over playoff teams. 1 Quote

I think the million dollar question is whether or not the SEC will once again have more teams than the B1G. Quote
