Seems like he is blasting the NCAA for this ruling. They declared him ineligible. What more could they have done? Quote

Irishman Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 This is insane. Had he done this as a player in any pro sport he would be banned. I do think all of this pretty much keeps him out of the NFL. 1 Quote

What more could they have done? @Bash Riprock it sounds that way, but I took it not as an indictment on the NCAA’s handling of the issue but an acknowledgment that if the law can’t accommodate the NCAA’s enforcement of this particular rule and this particular punishment, then that’s the end of the NCAA. 1 Quote

Agreed. Pate is a very intelligent guy. I enjoy his podcasts. That's how I understood it as well. Betting on the game should be the one area EVERYONE agrees has consequences. 1 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted June 10 Posted June 10 This is more of a indictment of the System of Courts if they can judge shop to find the "perfect" one to drop the ole Injunction, knowing full well that in Texas the rules automatically make it go to an appeal court.... .and here is the fun one, those are always 8-10 months out from the Injuction, just in time for the season to conclude........ Fun 1 Quote

Fun Fair statement...by the way, the appeals court you mentioned...all 4 graduates from the TTU law school...... Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted June 10 Posted June 10 That statement is full of Facts Hard to argue and I am not one to sit here in Indiana and say that everything they put on that was a lie Quote
Irishman Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 I fully support them getting him the support he needs to recover from this, and really hope he does, and is not just going through the motions so he will be able to play. But I am still of the mindset that he should still be ineligible. As I and others have posted, others have done far less and received a greater level of disciplinary action than what he has been given. 1 Quote
Bash Riprock Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Fun continues after Texas AG threatened legal action for the Big 12 if they took action against TTU. Now Oklahoma AG weighs in….. 1 Quote
Irishman Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 Not sure how all this will go, but I think the Texas AG stepping in was a mistake. With all of this going through the courts, odds are that the cancellations involving Tech will stay in place just as it is likely Sorsby is on the roster for the season. At the end of the day, people have to be wondering if he is worth this much? is Tech just pot committed here and cannot back out? Quote

Agree Texas AG stepping in is a big mistake. Conferences and NCAA must have the ability to govern. 1 Quote

Conferences and NCAA must have the ability to govern. Having the Big 12 as a whole filing the suit is a big deal; meaning everyone is on board. Tech may need to consider other options if there are any after this coming year. But an even bigger deal is that the conference chose Sidney Austin as an attorney. I had not heard the name before, but what I have seen is that Tech and the state of Texas are in way over their heads at this point. 1 Quote
