Fkfootball Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 All of these games need to be moved to Saturday. Some of the teams down here have already done that. The weather tomorrow is going to be ridiculous from what I'm hearing. Hurricane stuff. Quote

FC may be flush with cash but I assure most schools aren’t. You will also struggle to get officials on Saturdays. Between college, youth, VB, and the fact it’s Saturday. I saw on TV this morning a lot of KY schools are moving games to tonight. Trinity and St X are still schedule for 8:00 Friday night. Quote

Although, I'd have to ask the Farmers if they agree with that. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, you guys are in a moderate drought like the rest of us in the conference. 1 Quote

Unfortunately the weather controls us and not the other way around. Quote

Betting on the come means what will come. How many times have you made plans because there’s no chance of rain…..the damn. How many times to we see schools cancel school based on forecast that turn to be a bunch of nothing. I think the term comes from hanging on to a shitty hand in poker thinking you’ll get what you need on the turn. 1 Quote

I thought you had an autocorrect issue or a typo. 😂 Quote

Frozen Tundra Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Week 6 Picks BNL (0-5, 0-3 HHC) at Jennings County (0-5, 0-2 HHC): How ironic that the two conference games this week will likely decide who gets first place and who gets last place. Neither the Stars nor the Panthers have been good this year. As a matter of fact, they’ve both been awful. So how does one decide who wins a game like this? Personally, I look at common opponents played. New Albany is the only one. BNL lost to them 22-12. JC lost to them 33-7. I also look at total points scored and total points given up. BNL is at 31 and 199, respectively, while Jennings County is at 38 and 234. When you consider BNL has played Martinsville and Bloomington North while JC has played no team better than Columbus East, it makes this an easy decision. The Stars win. BNL leads the series 44-7 and has won 7 straight. BNL has also won 10 straight at Jennings County (last loss was in 2002). Columbus East (3-2, 3-0 HHC) at Floyd Central (3-1, 2-0 HHC): The Highlanders have gotten off to slow starts the last couple weeks and didn’t even put Silver Creek away until the second half three weeks ago. The key for the Olympians will be to put the pedal to the metal from the start and not let up. While I think that’s possible, I don’t think it’s probable. Floyd Central has more talent and is the better coached team. Columbus East leads the series 31-17 but the Highlanders are looking to win three straight for the first time since 2001-2003. New Albany (3-2) at 5A #7 Bloomington North (4-1): This is a get-right game for the Cougars after a poor showing at Terre Haute North last week (a 24-14 win nonetheless). As for the Bulldogs, they’re 3-0 against winless teams and 0-2 against 5A teams. Even worse, this is their toughest opponent of the season. Easy pick here. Bloomington North leads the series 7-3 and has won the last five. New Albany’s last win was in 1982. Seymour (2-3) at 2A #2 Brownstown Central (5-0): This rivalry game can be a tricky one to pick as some bad Seymour teams have beaten good Brownstown Central teams over the last decade and a half. I think this game could be much closer than people expect. The Braves have lost the last two games in the series so I’m anticipating they’ll really be motivated to win this one. I’ll go with them just based on my gut even though my gut has been wrong picking them before. The Owls lead the series 14-9. Silver Creek (3-2) at Jeffersonville (3-2): These teams have played one common opponent thus far, Floyd Central. The Dragons played them much tougher in the end than the Red Devils did. However, their two games since then weren’t very inspiring (a 13-7 win at Eastern and a 14-0 home loss to Scottsburg). As for Jeff, you have to think they’re motivated to get a win after a poor second half last week. I also think this could be a close game but I’ll take Jeffersonville. The all-time series is tied 3-3. Quote

Fkfootball Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 It should be a good game between FC and East today. I won't be able to be there as I'll be in Bloomington today. I don't expect a big crowd today At Wiegleb stadium with the rain and it being a Saturday game. Which is a shame. A Good Friday night game would've probably brought a big crowd for this matchup.
