If you like defense, this was the game for you. Both teams played hard in this matchup. And lots of penalties for both teams. At one point MD was like 3rd and 4 at mid and it ended up being 3rd and 22. This game reminded of the one back in 2019 where there was nothing going for both teams. How did the Titans do against SW? Came up short 45-28. had it to 35-28 in 3rd but the little things were too much…namely 3 special teams TDs for the first 3 scores for SW. it’s weird lol….like there are moments where you are like this team is really good…the defense can be amazing….and then they miss on a sack or a tackle on sideline and something goes from 3rd and 20 to 1st and goal….or the ball pops loose/can’t convert a 4th and short inside redzone. Maybe it’s just the level of talent they are facing and the rest of the schedule will work out better…certainly lots of things the coaches can point to and say they need to be better Edited September 9, 2023 by DumfriesYMCA
AW0352
Anyone at the Jasper/Bosse game have a summary? Was it close at all? What about Memorial/MD? How in the heck did MD keep it so close when they literally couldn’t stop Castle’s offense if they would have at 15 players on the field? Screagle
Most games between MD and Memorial are close. Throw the records and names out. 7 straight over MD is not easy. Take the dub and off to next week.

Jasper/Bosse both scored 1st possession, Jasper D stiffened up, and offense scored 3 unanswered TDs, 28-6 at halftime. They pretty much traded TDs the rest of the game. Wagner must had 300 yards! 1 minute ago, jcat69 said: Jasper/Bosse both scored 1st possession, Jasper D stiffened up, and offense scored 3 unanswered TDs, 28-6 at halftime. A lot of mistakes/penalties with a mixture of banged up players the last 2 games

MD, while solid on D, continues to struggle mightily on offense. Their only meaningful drive the whole game was at the start of 2nd half and it was run heavy and up-tempo. After Tigers adjusted and MD went back to shotgun/pistol, their two left feet were again evident. Several snap count snafus again this week. Again, MD is very young with 6 - 8 sophs getting heavy reps at many key positions on both side of the ball. They will only get better as season progresses but offense seems destined to struggle until/unless MD can get consistent yards via run to set up better down & distance situations for the passing game which has struggled to this point.
