  1. Today
  2. I don’t know which is worse, whinning by 37 or loosing by 1
  3. Jeffersonville earned the #4 spot with their 20-14 win at Seymour. The toughest part was choosing which team was #5. I put Seymour at #5 because they got down to the 7 yard line before falling just short on the last play against Jeffersonville. I know Lutheran has been an excellent team in 1A and 2A over the last decade, but a school the size of New Albany shouldn't lose to a school the size of Lutheran by 42 points. It feels like football is just something to do to pass the time at New Albany until basketball season starts.
  4. Completely agree with your comment about Floyd Central. I don’t think anyone touches them. As far as your rankings are concerned, I agree with 2 and 3. Not saying you’re wrong with the rest but I think 4 through 6 will be close. Or maybe Providence is going to have a really bad year and New Albany’s win against them wasn’t as impressive as we initially thought.
  5. 1. Floyd Central 2. Bedford North Lawrence 3. Columbus East 4. Jeffersonville 5. Seymour 6. New Albany Floyd Central is easily the best team in the Hoosier Hills Conference and will blow out every team in conference play this season.
  6. Week 3 Pick’em 🏈 West Washington - Probably not much of a game Paoli - I am never sold on Springs Valley with the strength of schedule they have. I could see Valley dropping several this season though. Crawford County - Toss up to me, I’ll take the Wolfpack Charlestown - Madison may be better than I expect but I am rolling with the Pirates here Floyd Central - most lopsided matchup this week. Floyd is a top 4-5 team in 5a and we are talking New Pal, Cathedral, Bloomington South in that mix. Brownstown - Always impressive when a 2a beats a 5a. Likely not too close either. Corydon - I am picking Corydon out of loyalty. I dont have a ton of confidence after the last 2 weeks. Not sure how they don’t beat Paoli with the roster they have. I am very timid in all Corydon selections going forward. (They “should” beat NH by 21+) Salem - I think this is a decent Salem team. I didn’t see the film vs SC but I know how much Scottsburg lost from last year and just think that Salem has a little more. Similar wins over NH… which, I don’t think says too much at this point. Maybe a close game but if the Warriors pull it out, I wouldn’t be surprised. Only reason I’m not at 14 is I was being a smartass with Brownstown last week 😅 lesson learned, make my picks and don’t make one of those against Reed May.
  7. The Tenderloins made a statement against a ranked team on the road. They’ve given up about 105 yards of total offense. They probably won’t be challenged until the regional round. No real big surprises except The Rubbers losing this week. Fountain Central @ Riverton Parke North Vermillion @ Covington Seeger @ Attica South Vermillions @ The Woofs
  8. Carroll (Flora) Clinton Central Clinton Prairie Delphi Eastern (Greentown) Sheridan Taylor Tri-Central
  9. Here's my take: Brownsburg Westfield Carmel Warren Central Center Grove Fort Wayne Carroll Lawrence North Avon Penn Crown Point Ben Davis East Central Bishop Chatard New Palestine Zionsville Bishop Dwenger Roncalli Hamilton SE Franklin Central Decatur Central Cathedral Merrillville Bloomington South East Noble Evansville Memorial
  10. Yesterday
  11. Anyone know the status of the Harrison player that was hurt in Friday's game? He was taken away in the ambulance. I'm speculating but it appeared to be neck/spine related.
  12. Yeah I’m not going to lie I was surprised how poorly Whiteland performed, I had a higher respect for them going into that game. If they played tomorrow I’d say the stars walk out of there with a 49-0 shutout
  13. Memorial over Reitz? Would that be a pick-em if played on Friday? Only two weeks away.
  14. Well you said you’d pick BNL by 35 over Whiteland. FC won by 37? So this can’t be right. 😏
  15. Carroll 56 - Concordia 0 - Mismatch Snider 45 - Luers 21 - Panthers get a much needed win as Luers drops to 0-3 Northrop 21 - North Side 20 - Bruins squeak one out Homestead 42 - South Side 14, Sparty too much for the Archers Dwenger 49 - Wayne 0 - Saints hit the running clock late in the 2nd quarter
  16. Concordia at Carroll - This is the kind of game the Cadets are trying to avoid. Over by halftime Luers at Snider - Gave away last week's game. These Knights won't be so fortunate. Panthers by 14 Northrop at North Side - The Legends have new life under Smith's direction. North by 7 South Side at Homestead - Archers getting close, but not quite there. Spartans by 28 Wayne at Dwenger - Saints continue marching. Running clock late 3rd, early 4th.
  17. Felt like they opened up the offense more against Lowell. Against Pike it was a lot of runs in power sets like we saw last year. It's possible. Curious to see how they play against Merrillville. Ater the Pirates it'll potentially be a lot of blowouts the rest of the way.
  18. Week 2 Rankings 1. (1) Memorial (2-0) 2. (4) Reitz (2-0) 3. (5) Mater Dei (2-0) 4. (6) Gibson Southern (1-1) 5. (2) Castle (1-1) 6. (7) North Posey (2-0) 7. (3) Heritage Hills (1-1) 8. (10) Boonville (2-0) 9. (9) North (0-2) 10. (HM) Forest Park (2-0) HM: (HM) Tell City (2-0), (8) Vincennes Lincoln (1-1), (NR) Jasper (1-1), (HM) Southridge (1-1)
  19. Did CP run the same offense against Lowell week 1, as they did vs. Pike in week 2? Maybe trying to negate the speed of Pike?
  20. Also could be addition by subtraction?
  21. @hhpatriot04 This should say royal blue, not total blue
  22. Jennings County now has that same stripe down the middle of their helmets like BNL has. They have total blue instead of navy blue though. The number is on one side of the helmet outlined thinly by red. Other side of the helmet has the interlocking JC logo. Facemask is red except for one random player that has blue.
  23. New helmets for Madison this year. No center stripe.
  24. Just save resources and give the trophy to Penn, mark em' 9-0 going into sectionals and have them scrimmage against themselves every Friday night for a couple of months. They made Mishawaka look like a JV team. Only team in this conference that might belong on the same field as them is Elkhart and I'm not even sure of that. This past Friday was a wake up call to where the cougar program is. Last season was going to be a down year regardless who was coaching, we just lost so much production there was no maintaining where we were for the last handful of years. I saw the cougars against Laporte and I didn't think we looked bad at all, we weren't winning trophies but we looked like an average to average 4A school. I figured we'd be competitive against Northwood after what I saw and when I heard Northwood lost 45-7 to Columbia City I was honestly expecting a solid NP victory over the panthers. Being down 37-0 at the half to NW was humbling and raising questions. Also heard from a couple people 5-6 senior starters quit the team, don't know if it's true or not but it would make sense given the on-field product.
  25. Conference games start Marian (1-1) at SB Adams (1-1) St. Joseph (2-0) at New Prairie (0-2) SB Washington (0-2) at Elkhart (1-1) Penn (2-0) at SB Riley (1-1)
